Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
It's funny that the opposite happened in Canada: our 17" dolls used to cost $124.50, but then at some point they went down to $109.95. I have no idea when. Tiana and Snow were the higher price (Belle, too, I think) and then the next doll I saw in store was Tremaine, who was the lower price.

I'm not sure how I feel about it. If the dolls went back up to $125, I know I'd still buy them. I guess it deters scalpers a little? Less of a return maybe. The real sucky thing is that Disney never explains why they do these things. They just do them and tell you to have a magical day. However, I agree that it's up to them that they can set whatever prices they want--and then explain as little as they want. It's up to us to purchase or cancel like some of you did. Still, it would be nice to know why sometimes!

I ordered a set from the u.s site 53 mins after the release and mine had went through , my card was charged and my order is active! So they couldn't have sold out in 12 mins?! I also called to clarify and they said my order is processing and looks fine to them

Sold out in 12 minutes on the US site, Europe allocation is still available.

I agree, luckily I had enough for the extra £40, but now im trying to scrape together enough money to eat...i know food is more important then dolls and pins! But When you have been told a price and budgeted for it and been looking forward to the dolls for months, I couldnt really give up at the point of buying them ...its irritating when they change it without warning :c

im in the same boat im am so broke right now and had figured it all out to get the doll the £20 has really thrown me, but when youve worked yourself up to getting it, decided to treat yourself and got really excited. and then your staring at this screen going omg £80! you have to make a quick decision. I knew that they would sell fast and that I would never buy her for even that price again, it is very low of disney to up it at the last minute just for greed.

THose with Blast Offs did y'all do express shipping or regular? I'm so antsy! I want it NOW! ;)

I just got my LE Elsa's blast off e-mail too. Both are with standard/free shipping. I hope you get your e-mail soon! :) Keep in mind that these e-mails just mean that the shipping labels have been printed. The dolls have not actually moved yet, but it's a start.

I agree. I would still buy them even at a higher price point. The 2011 Designer dolls at $60 each were a steal, and I think the Disney Store realized that the pricing was too low (uncharted territory for them and all), and I am surprised that they did not bump up the price on the 17" LE dolls when the Designer Villains were pushed up to $79.50 each. When you compare a 12" doll and a 17" doll, both of which have fancy designs, a $20 difference in price between the two seems a bit strange.

And they so do always tell you have a Magical Day, even when they basically already gave you a slap in the face by not really answering your inquiry or complaint! =/

whats upsetting is that they only put the price up for a small set of customers at the last minute, if these dolls where advertised across the board at the higher price then thats fine people get to decide if they are worth it. but americans paying less and some people in uk stores paying less it is not fair to those who bought online nor is it good business.

if it had been advertised at $100 and then you log on and find its $140 and then find out that some people in other countries payed $100 and some people in stores paid $100, you would call it unfair. its not right to just randomly charge people what you want just because - thats what everyone is upset about.

I know the price increase was unexpected and sucks, but I dont understand all this "unfair" talk. Disney is free to set prices however they wish.

I agree with what you are saying but not in this situation. Yes Disney can set prices to what they like but their has to be some consistency you can't charge one person £60 and then another person £80 for exactly the same product. Same with some French and Italian collectors they had a double whammy, not only did they get the doll early but they were charged 70 euros where everyone else now has to pay 90 euros. So in my book this is absolutely not fair and I'm sure if this happened to our friends in America we would hear the same complaints.

I think if the dolls were all marked at £80 to start with and everyone had paid that then yes people would've been unhappy with the £20 increase but they'd have gotten over it. It's all the under hand tactics that have pissed people off and rightly so.

I definitely agree with you here, living in Australia we are faced with this problem every day so much so that we raised it as an issue against regulatory bodies for unfair trading. This was prominent with Apple, here in Australia it costs $2.19 to buy a song off itunes however in the US it is $1.69 (i think??) but the thing is we are paying for the same item and there is no difference as there is no delivery, yes there is the exchange rate factor but even if you were to apply the forex impact it would only be around AUD$1.75. This is also the case for things like Adobe Photoshop where you can get it for about $200 less at retail in the US than you can here in Australia, sometimes it is cheaper to buy things from the US and get it shipped here! That is how bad it can get. So I can sympathise with the Euro market and the inconsistency in pricing even though you are paying for the same thing especially since it used to be priced lower and then all of sudden increase without justification. I think the one thing that was even more upsetting was that those that bought it earlier through the other site glitches were able to buy it at the old rate and those that bought it on release date were hit with a price increase that they were not even warned about. I know generally they dont need to advertise the price or anything before hand but a bit of warning would be nice especially with something like this.

Also I got my two tracking numbers for Anna and Elsa so excited! The tracking numbers arent working yet but I am super excited!

Wow, I can't believe how early some of you had to line up only to find several people there already. I got to my store at about 8 and was the only one there for about an hour, and even after someone else came I think that we were the only people there for the dolls, others were just there with their kids for stuff and they didn't even show up until abot 10 minutes before the opening (Which I got to do because the little girl that was there when they asked was too shy to do it, yay!) We had 9 of each doll too. I was even able to go back like 2 hours later and get one more of each for my mom.

Ah my friend, you need to actually call and talk to a person. I have had the free shipping code added later an embarrassing number of times. They always remove the charges for me, but I do actually talk with a person. I tell them the truth, that I was really excited and nervous and forgot. I had a damaged designer Belle doll and got nowhere wiht e-mail. I called and they express delivered me a replacement and I didn't have to return the other doll. There is power in talking to an actual person. I'm sorry it didn't work for you, but I don't want people thinking that Disney won't take off the shipping charges because they will! :)

I just got off the phone with Disney and they told me they cannot do anything about the shipping charges aside form the $5 for the inconvenience. They wouldnt even offer a store credit

Is anyone else just really happy the LE doll season of 2013 is officially over? Unless I'm forgetting something (5 Designer sets + D23 variant and 5 Heirloom dolls), I spent $1,400 on just the LE merch (not including the extras, which I will get rid of one day). Then there's all the non-LE merch.

I really hope they spread things out a bit better in 2014. Not that I'm complaining about the amount of dolls (I love them), but maybe spring is a good time for new releases, too.

ETA: China Girl, which I didn't get. Fine. One doll in the spring.

I am 100% with you on this.

Still waiting for my Blast Off emails :/ Starting to panic. I still can't believe I got the 2 of them! I also ordered one of the $10 snowglobes too. Hope that doesn't mess it up.

At the end of the day disney are gonna put prices up sooner or later. Especially if a item they sell keeps selling out. It just makes business sense. It's just unfortunate that it was such a cock up on the situation and should have done a price change after this last release. I was gutted about it and was willing to pay £80 it's just I was fortunate I got them at a lower price this time. A shame other people didn't but if this is the rrp for the next dolls surely the u.s should be brought up to match the same price. That is fair!

I agree, I am so glad doll season is over for the year as I really need the break haha. Can just go back to saving money for the next doll season and the next D23 Expo! LOL

Overall I would have spent about $2,500-3,000 getting these dolls, which is actually quite scary really....that includes the shipping and the Harrods doll set, it may be more if I actually do a proper check of the shipping paid but im too scared too LOL. But yeah that doesnt count what I paid for my trip to LA to attend the Expo haha.

I agree with you with in that Disney should spread the releases more in 2014, they did it back in 2012 where we had a bit more of a constant spread, Wedding Rapunzel (Mar), Merida (June), Cinderella (Pre-order Jul-Aug), Designer Villains (Sep-Oct), Lady Tremaine (Oct), Calhoun (early Nov) and then Merida and Elinor (late Nov) which just made it easier financially whereas this year we were just hit with releases one after the other. Other than China Doll in Feb we had Ariel Jul-Aug, then the Designer Fairytales Aug-Oct, Ursula and Eric in Oct, Harrods set Early Nov, Anna and Elsa Nov 20.

When you actually type them all out there were definitely more releases in 2012 than there were in 2013. I wonder if Disney starts reduces their releases but increases the price? I generally find that there is no patter with the releases and that they are just released during events that Disney finds a release suitable for. It just so happens that the Designer sets are released the same time as the diamond edition release and around the same time that a Disney movie is released i.e the thanksgiving/holiday season. Would be nice if they move the Designer line to the first half of year but I dont find that happening anytime soon.

You can check the status of your order on the website, if it closed they should have a tracking number next to the item details, could just mean that they havnet sent you the email yet. If it is still open that means they are still processing your order.

Usually if you order other items it can delay shipping as it takes a bit more work to fulfill your order as you have different items in your order as well. So it could just mean that yours will be processed near the end of them sending out all the Frozen LE dolls i.e later today or tomorrow.

If you take into account the shipping cost from the US it will actually cost more for people in the UK to still buy from the US. Usually international shipping from Disney Store US is about $60USD so that would be about USD$167 in total (not sure about customs in the UK and the costs) but that works out to be about 105 pounds with the current exchange rate? which is about 15 pounds more than if you were to buy it from the DS UK store directly at the new price of 80pounds per doll. Also you would get free shipping in the UK as well so would just be paying 80 pounds plus taxes. But yeah if you have friends in the US then it would definitely be cheaper to buy it in the US over the UK if you were just paying for the doll itself.

I do expect there to be a price increase but I do hope it wont be by too much especially since they arent changing much with the dolls, yes we have inflation but even with that that wouldn't justify a $20-30 increase. If they were to increase the price I would expect they improve on the quality of the dolls or do a little something extra to justify the increase but like some of you have said they can just increase the price of the dolls and we would still buy it. It was made evident by the Harrods set and I still believe that that is why they did the last minute increase in the UK.

Also anyone else's tracking details update to the green in transit mode yet? or even the label is created mode? Because when I try checking mine it is still telling me the tracking details still don't exist.

Mine finally says order processed as opposed to the non exist message, but no green. Slowly but surely being updated I guess. My label has been created though.
