Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
The french are now , decided to make pay disney for their behaviour, we are writing a file to show to a powefull guests assosciation here in France, to make disney store pay for their behaviour.

The final straw here , is a fake advertising, saying you can buy at disney store france, the elsa doll for 70 euros !!!!! but when you click on the link, of course it's 90euros. For an advertising that show promote a false price... Here in France you can do something about it. And trust me, we are doing it right now.

The advertising screencapture :

You'll have to keep us updated, hopefully those who did buy from the UK will have the same luck if you get anything back. I'm glad people are actually doing something about this is as really is wrong on so many levels.

I hope Disney listens to the concerns of its most valuable asset, its customers/devoted collectors:-)

The fake advertising , now is screencaptured , is their only real mistake, where you can do something Now we go directely to that powerful guest association with it. some weeks ago a well known bank , had been taken doing same " false advertising " that are not real, to attract people, they got a huge pay to do... And an official apologies .... It will take a lot of time, before the decision ... May be a year or more, before disney has to pay back customer , have to pay for his fake advertising ; but the advertising now... It's too late, france is not joke about this.

In terms of the shipping code, usually if you do not enter it on check out it is unlikely that you will be able to add it in unless you manage to contact the Disney Store straight away and before the orders are processed. Unfortunately the Disney Store customer service is located on the west coast but the warehouse that handles the orders is in Memphis so closer to the East coast so there is a time difference so even if you were to call during opening hours there is a possibility that they are already processing your order so wouldnt be able to change it.

Actually, Polaris, I live in the Memphis, where BOTH the DS Customer Care Center and Fulfillment Center is located. My parents own a call center here and one of their staff went to work as a supervisor at the Disney Call Center a few years ago. (If it hadn't been for that, I would have never known!) They may have another one on the west coast as well, but every time I have called, I have talked with someone right here in Memphis.

The whole price rise with the Frozen Limited Edition dolls is an absolute mess!
I have posted lots of messages on the Disney Store FB page to no answer.
Someone even put up a receipt for the dolls with £60 showing for each doll and the price tag on the doll at £60.
I am very upset that the UK and Europe have been shafted by Disney. :-(

It was saying sold out one min and then it wasn't but you couldn't put it in your basket and at one point it threw me out of checkout. But I kept trying and then one order went theough

This would have been an exception as the dolls did sell out within 12 minutes the fact that you were able to subsequently order one just means that you were lucky as it really was more of an exception rather than the item going back up for sale.

Fair enough when I have spoken to cast members in the past it has generally been on the west coast, I have called them asking about the shipping as well and spoke to an actual person but usually they say that the order has processed and they cannot add the free shipping. Usually if you call in early enough you may be able to cancel it but a majority of the time you can't especially if they have already processed it. I also find that the call customer service hours are based on west coast time? So even if they were in Memphis they would be operating at different times to the warehouse.

regardless of all this, the point I was trying to make here is that you can just add the free shipping code prior to adding the LE doll to your cart so that you don't have to worry about it later. So if you just do that you can avoid all of this and don't have to worry about calling the center regardless of where they are located.

So that means they weren't sold out in 12 mins lol

They were marked wrong at £60 and we're meant to be £80 but as a gesture of good will they let them have the dolls at £60. Thats what that pic shows.

No an exception could be a result of a glitch and exceptions are generally outside of the norm as a result the dolls did sell out in 12 minutes and the fact that you were able to buy one would be like an outlier. Anyway everyone can see it as they like but to me it was obvious it had sold out within minutes of release and the fact that anyone was able to order an item almost an hour later in my opinion is not an indicator that stock is available again but rather more as luck and that there may have been a glitch in the system but to say it didn't sell out within minutes is a little extreme especially since the bulk of the online stock for all we know had sold out, anyway I cannot be bothered arguing what qualifies as sold out and what does not because everyone will have different opinions. For all we know you could have been the only person that was able to buy one at that time. So congrats on you being able to buy one.

PrincessBecky,
My Elsa is really close to yours! :D 0709.

I had a pretty horrible time at the Disney Store this morning getting the dolls. The manager only let each person get ONE DOLL. Meaning someone had to choose between Elsa or Anna. My store only had six dolls (3 of Elsa and 3 of Anna). Also, you have to be 18 or older to get the dolls and I'm still four years away. The only other person with me was my mother. THANKFULLY, the two other girls in line convinced the manager to let my mom also get both Elsa and Anna because there was no one else in line and they knew how badly I loved the dolls.

That's the weirdest most surprising story I've heard so far. At least 18 to buy dolls? Ok, they are intended as a display item not a toy, but even kids can buy vases and picture frames. I see why this might be done to impose limits on family members trying to get multiples that may be for intended for ebay not keeps, but what a weird thing to be told when going to buy! So glad you were able to get them anyway!!

I like explanation but to me if I logged on at that time and it didn't say sold out and I was able to purchase both dolls that means they were up for sale. So that means they weren't completely sold out. When it comes to disney nothing is ever sold out lol

If the price on an item is £60 the customer should be charged £60.
I heard that they then went and changed the stickers to £80 and started charging that for them.
Trading Standards have to get involved here.

I got my blast off e-mail for my LE Anna! :) It looks as if they may be shipping things like with LE Prince Eric and LE Ursula (in batches, separately by doll).

I know the price increase was unexpected and sucks, but I dont understand all this "unfair" talk. Disney is free to set prices however they wish.

When I bought my dolls yesterday the numbered card they gave out said that you must be 18 years or older, but I know one girl in line was not 18. They let her buy the dolls anyway, so I think the restriction was for some sort of deterance.
As a side note, I was worried for nothing. My store had 10 or each doll, and due to my paranoia I managed to be number 4 in line. This was probably my most interesting experience with the dolls

Of course they can charge whatever they want but to announce them at £60 and decide to increase the price by 1/3 on the day of release is extremely unfair. And why single out Europe?! Some people have budgeted for these dolls but now find they can't afford them. My friend saved up for these and went to the store with £120 in cash but couldn't get them even though they had £60 price stickers on them. That hardly seems fair to me.

Ouch! That is terrible for your friend. I wonder is USA will be next, will the the next dolls be advertised as $99 and then changed to $130 by surprise on release day, to bring it in line with Europe? That would not affect me personally but I would call that also unfair o_0

I am pretty sure the US will be next and there are a number of factors that will contribute to the increase. This whole thing is very unfair. They will make it harder for people to be able to buy them, but they are seeing that some folks will pay higher prices for them so I am pretty sure we will see increases very soon. It would not surprise me one bit if we saw an increase in the US for the next LE doll release.

I'm expecting them to increase it next year, especially with the popularity that the dolls are receiving. I wouldn't be surprised if it did jump up $30 or more. Disney has to beat their sales every year on different items. The best way to continue to do this is one: make more dolls and two: raise the price of these dolls. This is part of the reason I plan on only buying my absolute favorites. The only thing that makes it difficult for me to do that is when they release the dolls before the movie or the day of the movie.......but at least with the next releases I know which ones I want. However, I know that they will probably be making more LE for Frozen.......sigh and I have a feeling I'm going to fall in love with this movie when I see it next week. I will be slightly annoyed if they release two more dolls for Frozen at $130 each.....but more than likely I will still buy them so why complain? Just save save save!

Thanks for the tip, Polaris and Brava! I will do that next time.
I have only ordered the designer ariel set and now these two girls, and I havent had any problems with getting free shipping. But my boyfriend was ordering one and he was so stressed he just went without it! I think this was his first time rushing to buy something so he wasnt fully prepared. It wasnt a big deal for us but I saw some people in the thread using it as a strategy to checkout faster so I wanted to post my experience :)

It happened to me too I was nervous (and I thought the free shipping code applies itself automatically for orders $75+, it always has before :\ ) so I called DS right away and they removed the shipping charge, so it doesn't hurt to call them hopefully they cane waive the shipping charges for you too! Good luck!
