Yeah, it was a bummer because they were so pretty, but oh well. I feel like they wouldn't let us out of fear that people would try to reuse the cards by changing the numbers and buying a second set. Our store also only had 10 Anna's and 9 Elsa's, which I assume means a cast-member wanted to buy an Elsa, but I feel bad for that 10th person who will go to get both but will only be able to get one. From what I saw, everyone in line wanted both in the end. I'm glad I had a friend there with me today too just in case, hearing that some stores were only letting people buy one or the other... that stinks. :/ She also was a good force to get me out of the store before I could spend more money on the snowglobe, the mugs, etc... :P

When I'm lucky enough to get to go in the Disney Store, I am not allowed in unsupervised. I would bring it all home without much thought. It's easier online, because it's only a picture and whatnot. When it's in my hands it's as good as bought..... so I need someone to be my better judgement in there.

Agrimmending...I was the third person in line at Florida Mall (the one in the pink hoodie sitting next to your friend)! I've seen your posts on the forum but had no idea that was you! Small world. :)

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these dolls! They are really beautiful. I thought I was going to love Elsa more prior to seeing the dolls in person (and I really do love them both equally), but I must say if I was forced to only have one of them I would choose Anna...her dress is gorgeous and I just love everything about her. :) I also really like the artwork featured on the background of their boxes...it has almost a retro/Mary Blair-esque feel to it, which I love. My Elsa is #702 and Anna is #480.

I'm kind-of glad that I wasn't able to get them on the website because now I have them in hand and was able to pick them out. The first Elsa I looked at had a pretty noticeable crease on one of the corners of the box....not to mention I seem to have really bad luck with Disney control and UPS shipping LOL. But yeah, even though I am running on two hours of sleep right now it has turned out to be a fantastic day! :)

Wow! Small world indeed! I've never met anyone from the forum before, but I know I saw you at all the DFDC releases! Nice to know someone from the forum at my regular store now! :)

I am so bummed that I was forced to choose between the two last night, but hopefully I can trade for Anna if someone has an extra one. While I have been mesmerized by Elsa from the start this Anna doll is gorgeous, that dress is amazing!!

I feel really bad for people who couldnt get the dolls because they sold out too quickly or the site was problematic to use :( That would have upset me more than paying the extra £20 actually :(

For UK people, I found this

http://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/your-rights-when-stores-mis-price-items.html

Basically this is how I understand it; if it has the incorrect price on it, and you bring it to the till, they don't HAVE to honour the price they can refuse to sell it. They can refuse to make contract of sale with you.
But if you exchange money, and you receive the product and it has the wrong price on it....you may be able to get a refund! However, it is speculated that the express shipping option was removed because Disneystore need time to pluck all the £60 price stickers off :/

I feel like they'll have to do Mulan and Pocohontas, otherwise Disney won't have the full princess line. I know it has never happened this way before, but maybe when they go into the Disney vault they might release some since they are already on DVD without much bells and whistles. Or else as a surprise release for off-season? Sort of like Alice, since she came without any release or anything.

Don't give up hope! I'm sure we will get a Pocahontas soon, along with a Mulan. Honestly, I will pay almost anything for a LE Pocahontas...

LOL dont say that! Disney might see this! I dont want Disney to release another Harrods exclusive Pocahontas and charge us ridiculous prices haha.

Really? I don't feel alone in the world anymore :)
I hope our wish comes true! A mulan doll would be spectacular as well :)

I definitely agree with sinslikescarlett, Disney would have to release a Pocahontas and Mulan doll, probably not for another few years though as we would have Aurora next year and hopefully Jasmine after that. Definitely think they should release Pocahontas and Mulan, if not then I am sure there will be quite a bit of outrage, especially if they released dolls of characters like Calhoun and China Doll who are no where near as popular as those princesses.

but it has been stated that 80 pounds is the correct price, right?

PrincessBecky,
My Elsa is really close to yours! :D 0709.

I had a pretty horrible time at the Disney Store this morning getting the dolls. The manager only let each person get ONE DOLL. Meaning someone had to choose between Elsa or Anna. My store only had six dolls (3 of Elsa and 3 of Anna). Also, you have to be 18 or older to get the dolls and I'm still four years away. The only other person with me was my mother. THANKFULLY, the two other girls in line convinced the manager to let my mom also get both Elsa and Anna because there was no one else in line and they knew how badly I loved the dolls.

why on earth put an age limit on dolls?

It is to stop people from bringing a baby and claiming that the doll is for the baby, technically speaking they are trying to limit it to make it fair so the only way they can do that is to make it so that only those that can actually buy one as in pay for it themselves should be able to buy it. Unfortunately the general age for people to be able to apply for credit is 18 that is why that is the generic age for who is classified as an adult in Disney terms.

That being said if PrincessRapunzel were to bring in cash and try buy the doll herself then she should be allowed to buy it as she is able to because regardless of age she has the money therefore they should let her buy it. It is a hard one to police because you have genuine collectors younger than 18 but then you have families who just bring their kids along so that they are an additional "person" which means if the age limit did not exist they would be able to buy more than one and claim that their kids bought it and it is for them. This is the same case with pin collecting to, I think it is fair as it really is the only way Disney can control the sales to a certain degree but at the same time I think it does need judgement such as in the case of PrincessRapunzel where she should have been able to buy the doll. Regardless of that congrats on still being able to get the doll and I am glad there were people there backing yourself and your mom to be able to get both!

I think we will see Pocahontas and Mulan after this year is over. Once this upcoming year is completed, Disney will have made princess dolls of almost every princess. There are no other re-releases that can be scheduled to my knowledge for princesses. So after Aladdin comes out on Diamond Edition (Whenever that is), and Sleeping Beauty, Disney will technically be "out of dolls" to make for new or re-release features. There isn't going to be another princess film for quite some time. So I think during this "off season," if you will, we will see a few more obscure characters.

I know this is a little "off theme" from Frozen, but on a facebook page someone said he reads on a french page this:
Limited Edition 17" Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) will be appear in September and she will have her PINK dress

I really hope they make one of her in blue too. After what happened with the Frozen dolls though, I really hope they don't make a blue dress version with a low LE and/or huge price increase. That would be too cruel. I don't mind not having the Frozen Harrods set at all since the differences aren't significant, but having Aurora in her blue dress and not her pink dress would be enough of a difference.... It would be nice if they would do a split LE for Aurora so that half of the dolls wear pink and half blue. That way everyone could get her in the color they prefer.

>>le sigh<< if it has to be pink, I hope it looks beautiful. Personally I favor the floral pink they've been putting her in at the parks and in her new look. Just not a fan of that hard candy pink.
I LOVE the idea of splitting up pink and blue, but at the same time it would be so much more pressure because (obviously) I would go for the blue one and there would be less of a chance. And I'd die if they made it an expensive exclusive like the Harrod's set. Elsa and Anna were missed, but for my favorite princess? I would be so beyond sad.
Can't wait to see her though!! I just want them to do her justice

Good luck to everyone who ordered. Hoping all your dolls come in safe and sound. I was going to try to order but I knew I wouldn't keep either of these if I bought them. I missed out on SO many Jessica pins due to high demands and scalper sales, its never fun. So I don't like doing that. Better to give someone a chance who really wants to keep them.
I'm really looking forward to a Maleficent 17" doll (based on original). Thats one I'm saving up for!!

I just have a little gripe about the 2012 Movie/Doll release. It was a bad move to have Pocahontas who was a princess supposedly released with Cinderella who is the alpha princess between the two. I hope for Pocahontas LE regardless and just to make up for having skipped out on her, Governor Ratcliffe. I really don't care for which "prince" they give her as they shot themselves in the foot with that situation. I just want Poca and Ratcliffe.

i really want an Yzma LE doll.
she was such a great character just thinking about her shenanigans puts a smile on my face! and come on, she's no less fabulous that any of the other villains!!

also on my wishlist which may never come true: arthur and merlin from "sword in the stone", linguini and colette from "ratatouille" and an alice animator's collection doll PLEASE Dx!!!

My mom really saved the day for me! I wandered into her room at 1am all mopey about not getting the dolls and she floated me a loan to try and get them at the store this morning.

Small world though! Ran into one of our fellow DPF members. He was first in line and I was second, so we both got our dolls! Our store tends to get a ton of dolls, but we only got 5 of each because of the small edition size. From what I've been reading here though 5 actually sounds like a lot.

Agreeing with some other opinions here - While Elsa's design is utterly gorgeous, I think as a doll I prefer Anna overall. It's nice to see them get a short hairstyle done right for once! I actually like the hanging hair in the back behind that GORGEOUS braid. Either way I am in love with the both of them, much more so than I thought I would be. As far as LE dolls go, I think they've got a place in my top favorites.

No words can express how hyped I am for Sleeping Beauty dolls though! I just want all the Aurora stuff ever. I will go to the grave with them |:

I am curious how many of you de-box your dolls?

5oh and Super excited for Malificent. Theres only a couple dolls I've seen released of her that weren't hideous, but with 17inches they can get some detail in there. And of course a Diablo and staff better be included ;) I wonder if the horns will be a part of the head, or made from fabric...

I'm probably in the minority, but I actually like Elsa's execution better! The thing I like about Elsa, is she looks EXACTLY like Elsa. There is something off about Anna to me, she looks more like Slue Foot Sue than Anna in the movie in my opinion. Maybe it is the amount of freckles up close and the fact her tendrils sort of are reminiscent of a ponytail and they made her hair ginger rather than sort of a mousy brown/slight red, but she just kind of looks like a western cowgirl to me! Plus, I'm getting a little OCD about her dress, it is so pretty but so flowy and every time I move the box, it gets out of place sort of and makes me want to open it again to straighten it all out! :P don't get me wrong, I love both and am grateful to have them, but I definitely think I am on the Elsa bandwagon! I also really like looking at Elsa's cape up-close because at first glance it appears to just be sheer fabric, but there is also tiny little sequins (?) of sorts that look like little ice-crystals and gah! I just love this doll! I do wish they would have made the slit in her dress more apparent to see those gorgeous ice shoes though!

Anna's hair color does seem too red to me too. It should be more a mousey light brown with a hint of red. But I still prefer her doll because I like her dress so much. Elsa's dress really reminds me of a Halloween ice queen costume. But I think the same thing about her dress in the actual animation. It seems so costumy.

I feel the same way. Even though Ariel is my favorite princess and probably always will be, Elsa is my favorite of all the LE 17" dolls. She is so wonderful. I love the LE Anna doll as well, but I would have loved her even more if her hair was the right color and it was styled the way it was in the movie. I don't understand why Disney makes Anna dolls with such orange hair.

I agree about the hair. They did it for the 12" dolls, unless the bright red was cheaper, but I'm sure Disney would never ever cut corners financially, right guys? :P I still would have liked to see the mousy brown-ish red since Anna's hair is the first lighter brunette type princess we have among the multitudes of blondes, red-heads, and raven haired girls. Besides Belle, there is no other real brunette type girls, especially a lighter brunette, and all the other red-heads are such bright reds, it would have been a nice contrast.

I see your point about it looking costumey, but I guess it doesn't bother me. I really love her character design and am glad they didn't have to do the "generic ball gown" look for once!
