Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
So I see I am not the only one worried about my Elsa doll. I received Anna today. I got my emails with the tracking but the tracking number for Elsa was last updated 11/22 with "Origin Scan" but at the top it says scheduled delivery updated to end of day, Tuesday 11/26. It is 7pm here so I am not expecting to receive it today at this point since Anna was delivered at 4pm. My Disney order is "closed" and that they can't locate it but I was charged the full amount (both dolls ordered in one order). Does this mean my Elsa doll is lost? :(

Most likely your doll will arrive tomorrow, I've had this happen to me where the delivery date is off by a few days. It may have arrived at your local post office, but it did not make it onto the truck for a variety of reasons (truck is filled to capacity, didn't make it on time, someone overlooked it, etc.). I'd give it a few days and if it does not show, the thing you have to do is contact Disney, NOT USPS! USPS can ONLY, I repeat ONLY, see exactly what you see. They cannot provide anymore information (your local UPS might be able to if the doll is there, but I'm talking about the main USPS Customer Service line) that you don't know.

So what USPS told me to do today is that you'd have to call Disney back, explain the situation to them, and have them open up a claim with UPS, you cannot do it yourself since Disney is the shipper. Once a claim is open, USPS will further delve into where your package is to determine if it is lost or not.

I just receive my Elsa doll 20 minutes ago and the vinylmation set, but Anna is missing, just called disney customer service and they said that ups probably lost the package with Anna, they tell me to wait until monday to worry about the doll,
what do you suggest I already talk with ups and with disney and they both said I better wait until monday because is thanksgiving
do I wait or do I start to make complaints

You could complain, but if Anna arrives, it'll seem kind of frivolous on your part and with time too. I'd wait, but I'd call back and ask politely if they could check their warehouse. The lady on the phone told me today that, while they aren't supposed to vocalize it, sometimes people cancel a few orders, but it's not very many, and it takes days for Disney to process this and put them back on DS.com and they literally had only 2 more Elsas sitting in their warehouse as of 1:30pm EST today. They are both gone now and on their way to me, but perhaps Anna has a similar situation. If they have it in their warehouse, they can get it to you without it going back up on DS.com so it's worth a shot.

Both of my Elsa dolls have departure scans on the 22nd from Memphis but no further status updates. Anna made it to Kansas so far. All three have a delivery date of Dec 2nd.

Warning: Oncoming rant.

So I was super excited today because I was expecting to get a delivery email from UPS that stated my Anna was delivered. I didn't receive a delivery email and the UPS person never came. I can't check ANYTHING at work because they monitor our phone calls and even our computers (super stupid), but when I got home not long ago I checked my tracking and the dang thing says that it can't be delivered because a correct street number is needed for delivery!! What the hell??!! I mean I ONLY use ONE address, the same one since I've started buying from DS.com without a problem, and all of a sudden they can't find me???? I'm so angry I'm ready to chew someone's head off tomorrow morning, either UPS or DS.com. I know I'll get it eventually and if the holiday coming up wasn't going to put most of delivery services out of commission I would have still been fine. But with Elsa not moving from TN and now Anna in limbo because of my supposed "lack of correct address," I'm ready to lash out at someone. This is the type of service we get for being loyal customers? Wow.

*deep breath*

All UKers take note, DS UK just released more stock of the LE Frozen dolls online, finally got my Anna!
Here's hoping for no more mess ups, I really feel for you guys in the States and all the shipping problems.

Thanks for letting us know! Again guys I am more than happy to try and help those that missed out on the doll to get it from the UK only problem is that with the shipping it will probably cost about $80 just to get it shipped (would be shipped via Fedex and would have tracking too). So in total it would be USD$180 inclusive of shipping. Anyway I know that is not much different to buying it on ebay but the offer is there so just PM if you want me to help out.

That is so nice of you Polaris. I hope that if anyone missed them they can find a way to get them now. I know there were some tears of frustration here in the US over them selling out so fast.

Contacted Disney for a fourth time, getting nowhere. They basically just tell me to wait because Elsa has been sent....why aren't they offering me a refund??

Not necessarily, I would check the status again tomorrow morning and it should change to update for a new delivery date, if it does not then maybe contact UPS as they would have been flagged that there was an item due to be delivered on Tuesday that was not, it could just possibly be that they were unable to deliver it today. Also check your tracking and see where it is at the moment, if it is within your local UPS facility then you should expect to receive it by tomorrow. If there are no details then I would just contact UPS tomorrow and find out from them if the date has not changed as that would be odd since UPS would generally let you know if they are expecting the package to be delayed.

Checked this morning and now there is no delivery information. Just says "Last Location:
Memphis, TN, United States, Friday, 11/22/2013" and now my Disney order status just says "Closed" nothing about the warehouse. There hasn't been any updates on it since 11/22 so hubby is going to call UPS tonight when he gets home. I am going to try not to panic until Monday :P Very frustrating though.

A little news from Europe: Disneystore had sent the "refund" mail in Italy too!!

Anyway, i'm happy for anyone who want them :)

And many thanks for the kind comments of my "restyled Elsa" too :)

Here is my youtube video of her. Enjoy it, if you want!

i got a blastoff email from yodel, my elsa has now been resent. how many of these dolls have been lost or damaged in the mail?

LOVELY!!! She looks great with her hair like that!

Anyone else notice all the glue on Anna? o_0

I love her - I think she looks great, both the doll and sress are lovely, I thinks she was priced correctly BUT...

I was really surprised that my Anna's sleeves are held to her arm with GLUE. There is sticky tacky stuff on her arms and sticky tacky stuff on the fabric. I think it would have been a better idea to use elastic inside the sleeve, so that it could cling to her arm without need of glue. Her necklace is also 'tacked' down with tacky stuff. I do feel weird immediately talking about quality issues after so much excitement anticipation but I was really surprised by the glue!

That made me think about some other stuff that I don't see often talked about, and wondered what others think;

Quality of fastening, and presence/lack of lining - does it matter?

A lot of companies that produce Limited Edition and designer dolls, for example, those sold by Gold Label and Aston Drake, do not, to my knowledge, use velcro to fasten to the dresses. I know the Ashton Drake Tiana has a little zip at the back of her dress (I cannot find the photo) it is well hidden and has a pearly 'pull' handle instead of a regular one - it is extremely pretty! Her tiny (metal) necklaces fasten like a real one. I am going to make an assumption that the dress is probably lined. A lot of places that sell high-end dolls line the clothes.

All these dolls I have mentioned are more expensive than the LE Disney designer dolls - I do think, that at £60, the Disney Designer dolls cost what they are worth, and they are lovely :)

The (now reversed) price increase did get me thinking. If the price really had really risen, or will rise in the future then ...well, you can't just make an expensive doll and have the dress glued to it to stay on, to me that is one step away from moulding or painting items onto the doll :/

Just some thoughts

Do some of you not watch the weather? The Midwest and East coast just had a major storm move through over the weekend (still going on, on the Northeast part of the US now). Airlines were delayed or cancelled, and if the commercial flights can't go out that means FedEx, UPS, USPS flights could also not get off the ground.

Give it til Monday before you start blowing gaskets.

I dont get American weather updates here but I did hear of the rain and storms, didnt think it was that bad though...definitely a cause or reason for delay however the dolls would have been sent late last week and not sure when the storms hit but I would have thought most of them would have already reached their destination. Also Disney uses UPS Ground so the storms should not have affected the delivery time in that sense, but you are right that would still have cause for delay.

Rasputin is correct!!! When it ices down south, everything tends to go crazy! There have been delays since the early weekend and maybe this has also resulted in some of the confusion. I am less than 3 hours from the warehouse and literally just got my dolls! I had no tracking information on them at all the entire time! Everyone should give it a little time!!! Think happy thoughts!

Just an update from me, my dolls are here and safe and beautiful. Disney just sent me 3 emails about my tracking information (which all says its already delivered) so Im expecting them to charge my card and we'll be square :) It seems like everything was fine but they had a hiccup when it came to updating my status.
How is everyone else doing? was disney able to locate the missing dolls?

In my experience UPS usually marks that a shipment has been delayed by the weather if that is the case. Regardless, my concern stems from the fact that there have been zero updates as to the location in five days and others have had Disney tell them their shipments were lost. I am not too concerned that it has not arrived yet but I am concerned that I have no idea where it is, especially since I got the tracking emails at the exact same time and one of my dolls has been delivered. I could be wrong but I don't think it is the weather. I hope you are right though :) I personally was going to give it until Monday before I contacted Disney to allow for the holidays/weather.

Also I would like to let everyone know that the similar Disney / UPS delays are happening to me with other companies and UPS too! I have ordered from many other companies over the past two weeks and I am getting the initial tracking number, but then that is it - NO UPDATES. My shipments are arriving a little later than expected, but at least they are arriving, despite the lack of updates! Wishing the best for everyone!!!

I don't think it's the weather. For me, they had absolutely no record that I even had a package, anywhere. It just baffles me....how do they lose countless 17" dolls?! I guess they'll all go back to Disney and will pop back up on the website in a few weeks. SMDH

Are you all ready for this? I thought I was mostly out of the woods with LE Anna and LE Elsa, but nope! So LE Anna was supposed to arrive today. I got up early, saw Frozen at the theater at the first showing at 9:10 am. Great film, btw. I get home by 11 am, no package. Tracking says LE Anna is on the truck for delivery. No problem. Then at 2:54 pm, I get an e-mail saying that the package was delivered at my front door at 2:34 pm (no signature mention like it normally would if someone signed for it). I look outside. Nothing. I check my neighbors' doors. Nothing. I call UPS. Did not get anywhere with them other than "Oh, it says it's been delivered." Ummm... No it wasn't. At least not to the place it was supposed to be. Someone was home all day (even while I was out for the two hours I was at the cinema). UPS cannot identify the driver, nor locate that person to inquire as to what they supposedly did only 30 minutes ago. All they say is to contact the shipper (DS.com) to open an investigation.

So, I call DS.com and of course they see the same thing I saw: supposedly delivered at 2:34 pm at my doorstep. We all know that LE Anna is totally sold out. No option for a replacement to be sent. Next comes the customer service offers: full refund or a $110 online GC. Really?!? Slap-in-the-face time, people! I kind of laid it out: so I'm screwed or I'm screwed. No doll with either a full refund with no actual compensation for this mess or an online GC to cover the cost of the item plus $1.05. Oh that makes it all better! NOT! The rep then bumped it up to an online GC of $120, but that was as far she would go. Don't get me wrong, she was a good service rep and I felt really bad that I had to be the one calling in complaining and angry, but that is just ridiculous when you break it down. She recommended that I wait until the end of the day (so 8 pm in my time zone) and if the package was not delivered to call back and go from there with the offered solutions.

I've had to sign for almost every UPS package from DS.com, so the fact that supposedly it was just dumped at my doorstep is already odd to me. It's not unheard of, but just inconsistent. Needless to say, this is just upsetting to say the least. I also asked if I could request that LE Elsa be kept at the UPS distribution center for me to pick up on next Monday to avoid this situation, and I was told that was not possible. I'm praying that the UPS person is just a crappy worker in the sense that he is claiming that scanned a bunch of items for delivery and is going to sweep through with them as the night progresses. On a more negative note, he is just plain incompetent and delivered it to someone else. And at worst, he is a thief.

It just baffles me that there is no actual way to pinpoint the truck driver and hold them accountable for the actions that they are reporting that they are doing, especially when it is within minutes of the action happening. It really makes the whole tracking system seem archaic and ineffective. Clearly, something like this should not be allowed to happen like this. I sort of understand how items can get lost in between UPS distribution centers, but to claim that something was delivered at a destination when it is not and not being able to accurately question that action is just ridiculous.

that's absolutely terrible! i hope this gets resolved somehow. It's really frustrating the number of issues they're having with these dolls

Wow sorry to hear about that Shiva, that is ridiculous, clearly there is something going on with UPS and Disney Store. I am with you and believe that you are required to sign for the item as they cannot just leave it there. They also have a proof of delivery and if this proof of delivery has not been completed then technically the delivery never happened. The onus is on UPS to resolve this issue as they provide a guarantee that they will deliver the goods to the location as that is what they are paid for and are accountable for the goods during the transit stage. I would call UPS again and get them to sort out their mess up. As clearly they have done something wrong and stuffed up big time. Someone is required to sign for the package and it could not have been delivered so unless UPS can provide proof of delivery and show you the signature that signed for the package (as they are required to do so especially if a complaint is raised) then they are required to fix up this issue.

I was told that it is UPS policy that if the item is being delivered to an address it can only be signed for by the addressee. However we all know this is not the case and they have always accepted leaving the item there even if it has been signed by someone else. If you throw that at them they really have no argument, the fact that the package is addressed to you and yet you did not sign for it means that they stuffed up big time. It is a requirement that they are only allowed to pass the package on to the addressee unless you provide someone with a stat dec saying that they can pick it up on your behalf. So unless they have a copy of the stat dec or any verification to support why they gave the package to someone else then they are required to either get the package back for you or compensate you for their stuff up.

That is just completely unacceptable.Good luck! Definitely let us know what happens.

I had a somewhat similar situation last week. It wasn't a package from Disney, but another company. I had paid for the express shipping and signature option. I kept checking the tracking number and it said it was out for delivery (I was at work, not a huge deal). But then saw that it had been signed for, which I thought was very strange. It was signed for by "Lauren" which is not my name. The neat thing too, is that you can check a pdf copy of the signature, and obviously wasn't mine! In this case, I got my package, but how unbelievable is all this shipping drama lately! Just insane that someone would forge a signature and mark it delivered....when no one is home!
