Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
Wow serious? Sorry I never realised that Alice sold for that much! That is just crazy! I bought mine along with QoH for less than a grand, and that was for both!

But I guess that is expected, usually people list items on ebay according to what other people have sold theirs for. I have seen listings on there for some time but they never sold I guess people are willing to pay more for them now, especially after the increase in popularity.

I guess I just underestimated the secondary market as I havent had the need to resort to it for some time now (which i am so grateful for) but based on all that I can see why Elsa has been given grail status so I definitely agree with you Shiva on that.

I am wondering if I should get my dolls insured now because of their value, I have a feeling that my set (if I was ever able to sell it) would sell for a pretty decent amount. I never really thought of it that way but it does make me want to insure it now haha.

Just out of curiosity anyone have an idea what the entire LE disney dolls and disney designer dolls would be valued at? Just so I know the value to get insured.

Wait...What?
you can get a doll insured??
and what exactly would that do?

I've spoken to an insurer and I had to list them individually instead of one lump sum.I haven't completed it yet being that I have to figure out a value for each one...I may use your price key on your thread of doll releases Polaris, since you are very accurate with resale prices to date.

Oh my...that coronation Elsa is gorgeous. She'll go perfectly with my lonely LE Anna. I missed out on the first one, but this one matches the first Anna better, anyway. I must get her. Fingers crossed that I'll be able to get a pre-order in. :x:

Yes you can get them insured as they can be classified as a collectors item.

Ill have to see if that is the same here in Australia. The tricky thing is that I would need to convert everything from USD to AUD :S which is never easy especially with the rate fluctuating every day. Yeah I forgot that I put the resale prices on my other thread. I may need to go through and update it though as I believe some of them may have increased since I last did that.

I just got all nervous after Shiva mentioned how much the value of some of these dolls increased by because I havent gotten them specifically insured which is probably something I should do especially since there is a good couple of grand invested in my collection to date.

I really only want Elsa. Everything about her is beautiful. Of course, I also want the first Anna to go with her. I wonder if it would be a wise investment to buy snow gear Anna and possibly be able to trade her for coronation Anna + some difference. I'm also curious if they will be released in Japan when the movie is. We still have LE Cinderella, and the Designer Ariel & Eric, and Aladdin & Jasmine so maybe they would release all 4 LEs here?
I know it's been said that there will not be a Kristoff but if they did release him what do you think they could do with his outfit? Would he really only be suited to be matched with snow gear Anna?

Most have only increased by $50-$100 or so but it gave me a good starting point...the ones that seem to fluctuate this year were the designer princesses that I noticed with exception of Ariel who just goes up...every time I think I have a value it changes for that doll on eBay in the three month period...some dolls as mentioned before like Mother Gothel value is very surprising..I wonder if Ursula will reach that one day?

Konnichiwa! That's awesome to see other members from around the world on here!

I have always found the Japanese market to be an interesting one. Did they end up releasing the LE Ariel, Eric and Ursula dolls there in Japan? I did notice that they eventually received Cinderella but that was not for a great amount of time after she was released in the US. I would be nervous about waiting for the Frozen dolls to appear in Japan just because they are so popular and you don't want to lose the chance at getting them at retail and not all doll releases have made it to the Japanese market for some strange reason.

I think if they were to do a Kristoff he would have to be in his mountain man outfit that he is in throughout the entire movie just because like you said, that way they could match him up with the snow gear Anna.

Did the designer princesses go up in value? As from what I saw it looks like some may have possibly dropped in value with the exception of Ariel.

as as far as I know, it seems like japan disney store gets popular princess's LE like Cindy and Ariel ( with large edition size) like LE 5000to 6000, but note they did not have Rapunzel( new character from the time it was released) so if they release the dolls, it will be the snow Anna and coronation Elsa( IMO). Frozen hits the theater there in March, and it is about the time oversea stores receive the dolls in. For me, it is more reasonable to think this way due to the past exprience and it was kind of long time after the first set was release ( also note that Cindy and Ariel both follow the oversea store release time

They only have LE Ariel. I agree with you Polaris, if you have a chance to get yours in the states, I think it will be one of the case you want to be safe than sorry. I will not count on the chance to get in japan just because if you count they only did get 2 LE dolls ( 17") from the whole 17" line

I'd love to see some amateur photos of these two. Stocks photos are nice, but really do not give the dolls justice. Hoping somebody here has a store that will have the store displays out soon. Take some pics for us! ^_^

I'm not sure about Ariel, Eric, and Ursula. We've recently arrived in Japan and I've quickly found out that where I live, Disney is low on the list of stores and products which is totally opposite for the rest of Japan. I have noticed that other dolls aren't making it here, again I haven't been able to watch the LEs too much since we haven't been here long, the DAC for example they don't have a few dolls (Tiana and Pocahontas) and from the marketing, they never want them either. I think you're probably right and I should just bite the bullet and get coronation Anna on eBay and order the other two at prerelease. Maybe I'll keep a snow gear just in case they do release a Kristoff haha.

They only got Ariel as far as I saw. But in one way I think Japan store is very lucky they have such different merch than US and EU stores! When I visit tokyo I always buy A LOT of items there :)

Fluctuate..sorry that was bad choice of word...should have used differs since it differs from last time I looked at the three month sales a whole ago..the peak was probably in 2012 and now with the exception of Ariel, have been on downward slope to me...all while 17" dolls are going upwards which is funny being that I didn't really notice them until I purchased the designer ones and their prices started climbing lol..wish I would've noticed snow and Alice a while ago lol

I've just sent an email to guest services, asking if this will be the case for my specific store for this release...I am curious to see what they have to say.

You know, I really don't think that's right of them to do that. My store didn't do it and it seems most stores didn't. It doesn't seem right or fair for some stores to have this be policy while others do not. They should be consistent.

For people who work at the Disney store, if you can answer this.

Will this release have a preorder envelope like the ariel one did?

I was under the impression that every LE doll available for preorder came with the envelope... at least they have for as long as I have been working there.

I'm going tomorrow in person to see if my store has anything up yet..I called earlier to make sure they were getting them for the preorders so there should be something posted soon, hopefully!!!

I was wondering if anyone who de-box's their dolls has a box they would consider selling? Preferably an ELSA or Anna box, but I will take anything :)

I have my collection insured with American Collectors Society through USAA.... I insured my collection for 10k but I have snow globes WDCC items as well as all the LEs Except Harrods set. I pay about 70 a year but I guess that's actually considered cheap since it's discounted through the military insurance USAA. You actually don't even have to list out the items unless the individual item itself is over 2k.

Guys please dont think that just because it is a preorder that your card will not be charged, I would still ensure that you have enough funds in the credit card to cover the payment of the dolls because whilst you are not charged Disney will put a hold on your card amounting to the total cost of your order. It is up to you bank's discretion if they allow this to still go through or not but the purpose of the hold is to ensure that the person placing the order has sufficient funds in their account to pay for the dolls when it comes to that point in time that they must be shipped. If your bank does not allow the hold to go through due to insufficient funds your order will decline. le

Actually I can say this isn't true. I haven't always had the funds at pre sale and have ALWAYS gotten my dolls when they are released. Maybe that's how it goes for you but for me I've never had an issue. May not be that way for everyone. And this goes for any pre order item I've ever ordered.
