Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information

Yeah for sure the collection is worth more than 10k but I didn't want to pay more than the 70 a year... I'm fine with only getting reimbursed the 10k. The designers 2011 plus D23 cinderella are only worth around 4k on ebay though. It's just really how much you would like to pay out of pocket each year. Just log into USAA and it will direct you to American Collectors Society and you will get a discount through them.

Sorry to hear about that, I know what you mean about the customer service, it has happened to me a number of times wherein they did not even answer my question and just responded with information I already provided in my original email to them. Generally what I have found is that if you speak to the manager of the store they are more helpful, dont be too disheartened though as not all CMs are like that, most I have dealt with have been very nice and friendly and tried to help where they can but every now and then you get a few that are not to "Disney" LOL.

Thanks for the info about the insurance guys, ill have to see if we have something similar here in Australia. I did a little run down of my collection and it's worth on the secondary market just so that I knew the value to have it insured by and it worked out to be about USD$15,000 in total so it would be about (16k-17k in AUD). My partner also has his collection of car memorabilia and collectibles which works out to be about USD $10k-12k so if I were to get insurance I would need to get coverage of about $50k to cover everything.

thank you you for posting that, I am hoping to get the harrods set myself during tax season in February, I just really hope harrods still has them in stock by then, but over been trying to find out for a while how much the set costs to ship to the US as many people were saying many diffrent things

Hey Brii with the Harrods set I think it will cost around GBP 80 to ship (depending on your location mine cost GBP 120 to Australia but I think it is about GBP 80 to the US but I would budget shipping costs from around GBP 80-120 because the max I would say would be GBP 120), however the price tag of GBP 500 includes the VAT (goods and services tax) of GBP 83.33 therefore when you do order make sure they remove this tax as it is going to be shipped overseas hence the tax should not be applied. It should then bring the cost of the set to around GBP 500 inclusive of shipping which will work out to be around USD $820 depending on the exchange rate.

I did notice that they charged a delivery admin fee of 2% which worked out to be about GBP 10.71

I am not sure what the taxes are on imports in the US but here in Australia we do not get taxed unless the declared value is greater than AUD$1000 therefore I didnt get taxed on my set but if the US will tax you you will have to add the tax/customs fees to the USD$820.

My Harrods set came in a Harrods box and was covered up in all this bubble wrap and air bags so they packaged it well. They were also very friendly and nice going through the ordering process because i know I kept changing my mind about where I wanted it shipped as I wanted to see what the cheapest option would be for me. They also gave me a copy of my receipt in a little envelope addressed to me (hence why I was able to provide the figures quoted above).

Hope this helps!

The $837 was the price including shipping. Then they charged me $22 for foreign fees. So the set cost me about $850 to buy and ship to USA. The amount may change a little depending on the exchange rate the day they charge you for it. Hope that clarifies it.

I want a Harrods set very badly. I didn't want one initially but I didn't think I would like this movie THIS much. I COULD buy one but I SHOULDN'T lol. I need to save otherwise I'd be all over it ;-; Silly moving to California

Its a great set if you have the extra funds available. But if you already have the other two single set dolls and don't have the extra funds laying around then it won't really be worth it.

OMGosh Alex, how awesome you're moving to CA! ^_^

I would love a Harrods set as well, but I seeeeeeriously can't afford it and I'm happier with my single dolls (and the nice box insert backgrounds they have!)

Speaking of the Harrods set there just seems to be something weird about Elsa's skin that bothers me- not the colour or anything, but more the Ursula-esque sheen that she has going on- she looks a little sweaty or something  Can anyone confirm that the Harrods Elsa (and Anna) have different makeup than the regular LEs? Elsa looks overdone to me but maybe it's the sheen of her skin that makes her look that way I love how they included Elsa's blue toned skin at all, to be honest! She does get paler when she changes into snow queen Elsa, Disney really have been going into the little details with these dolls

AWESOME photos, Maya! I too was waiting for someone to do an Elsa shoot in the snow... way to go, girl! :bigthumb:

Elsa does have a high sheen that the single elsa doesn't have ( maybe a little)as well as more red cheeks and nose but what I love about the harrods set as far as make up differences go is the freckles in Anna's shoulders, her single does not have the extra freckles but I think it's sooo cute !

To be honest though I wouldn't buy they set if I didn't love the movie..... Which I do! Btw did anyone see the exclusive anna and elsa Disneyland Paris figurine, it's not that detailed but it's pretty. I saw it on eBay thinking about getting it.

Oh thank you for the heads up! I like it a lot too. I wonder how big it is?

I've been after that figurine for a while! I'm hoping it will show up on the DS UK site. Does anyone know how much it retails for?

I was so excited about the new dolls that as soon as I saw the posting on the Disney blog I called my local DS store and the rep had no idea what I was talking about. I explained that I found the info on FB and was released by Disney and after putting me on hold couldn't give me any correct info. It was very frustrating. I love the Elsa doll so I guess I'll be up at midnight getting her. Hoping with good luck with the fairy links again!

Welcome, SCM! It is great to add another true collector to the fold. I've been collecting since the early days too and I miss those "easy" days of collecting as well.

I like the figure but I am getting tired of this pose... the D23 ornament, the Disney Store sketchbook ornament set, the figurine set, and the snow globe all have figures in these exact poses! It would be nice to see a little different soon!

I'm just glad the LE dolls ended up not being posed like that. I was getting nervous about the Anna holding her arm pose lol.

I know what you mean about the same-pose. In addition to some new poses I'd like to see more separate merchandise. BTW, just watched a few of your LE reviews on YouTube today, they are great ^^ I shouldn't have watched the Snow though, I want her even more now, but it is a bit of a pickle to find her for under $650 (which is what I'm shooting for or less).

I am beyond excited for these dolls and can't wait for the 10th! I had asked a CM at the DS if their will be a pre-order for the movie on that day as well, but she was not sure. Does anyone know if anything has been said/confirmed for the pre-order of the blur-ray?

I believe it was on Stitch Kingdom where it was stated that the Blu ray would be released Mar 18. The preorder date has not been confirmed yet but I am not sure if Disney does an announcement for that or if they just release the preorder? Because I don't recall any notification for the jungle book preorder. Usually the preorder for the blurays come out at least 2 months before the movies' official release date so I would say that the bluray would be available for preorder on the 10th as well similar to when the Ariel LE was released and the Bluray came out too so people ordered both the bluray and the doll at the same time.

by the way it looks like it is available for preorder already on amazon but there is no official release date there.

I have to wait until March *sob*. Definitely going for Elsa! And I might get Anna to trade for another doll perhaps, or pins. Hmm.

Which store in SD do you go to? If you want to drive a little over an hour the Temecula store is getting 15 of each and they allow you to buy one of each and then go back and get more (later provided that there are less people in line waiting than there are dolls (Usually under a different name though, I never tried my name twice)

I am in the US and ordered the Harrods set in Nov and had it shipped to me it was £505 total including shipping (only £5 over retail because they deduct the VAT) which at the time was about $800USD
