Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
somehow my husband got it to come up as $71.91 shipped under his account with some saved code which I have no idea what it was - anybody else know which codes work? I tried the dmrjul the D23 code, and visa and dvc and couldn't get any of them to work

And guess whose on eBay for the low prince of $299! I mean they don't even wait until she's sold out to hike up her prices.

My local stores had more than enough dolls for the people who showed up. The store I lined up at (at 6am!!!!) had 6 dolls, and five of us showed up. At the second store we tried (to get another doll to open) they got 12 dolls and 5 people showed up. Then my friend and I preordered dolls 6 & 7. Plus there are 2 other stores I could drive to that got 13 each and neither of them sold out. I pulled an allnighter for nothing! But at least I can cancel my 2 online orders now...

Yea I think these days the 17 dolls aren't as popular. I think I u get up early in the morning around 8-10 u could always still preorder the doll. The only dolls I feel is a must to stay up for are the dolls limited to 1500 and less like the 17 inch villains or a small 500 LE doll like china girl

So my manager confirmed the LE Eric. She never believes me about ANYTHING until she sees pictures, so this makes me think she has seen a picture of him. She dropped the words "D23" with him to me. We shall await more news, patiently! Lol

My store sold out in the mall. I was number one in line. They got 18 dolls. There was 20 people in line. They gave out tickets.

Given that this is Ariel we are talking about, I am sure interest will increase as time goes on. The "main" LE princess dolls who are in the LE 5000 range do seem to take a little while to sell out online for the pre-orders, but they typically do before the actual release/shipping date. I believe LE Cinderella took about a month to "sell out" her pre-orders last year. This just tells me that the competitive problems as with the Designer Princess dolls, it really was the sharks that predominantly were messing everything up.

I ordered my Ariel...I can't wait to see her in person!

So my sister thought I was crazy for waking up at 3:00 AM to order Ariel...but I just wanted to be SURE I got her. :) She was like "You know these aren't like LE 100 pin sets right? There are 6,000 of them!" But the way people were hyping Ariel up, and not knowing how many the website had available I wanted to guarantee getting one. I am curious how long she will last though.

That's really interesting that they are releasing a LE 17" Eric. This is the first male doll they have done for this line and honestly I am kind of surprised that they are doing one...unless maybe it will be a two pack (like Merida and Ellinor ) with a human Ariel? I just don't see a solo Eric doll (at the $99 price point) being too popular...but who knows. :) I am secretly hoping for a LE Ariel and Eric wedding set...but then I don't know why the website would mention pairing the mermaid Ariel with the LE Eric...I guess we will find out. :)

What could they do to a 17 prince that would make him look like a limited edition doll and not just a really large classic prince doll? Maybe rooted hair? And a his pet dog ....that would be awesome.

I wrote a review at the Disney Store but then decded on not posting it last minute.
I didn't wanna stir an argument on facebook, like some people did about the cast member who reviewed cause the doll didn't come out yet.

I am solely basing this review on the pictures I have seen from this doll. My opinions will be based on these pictures because Disney Store were the ones that uploaded them and they know which are good.

What Can I say about this doll? Well, the first thing that comes to my mind is the price. This doll costs a $100, and an extra $10 with taxes. It is not by any means cheap, so is it worth my hard earned money?

So let's talk about it, from head to fin.

The hair: I really don't see why she couldn't have her signature streak, but it's good nonetheless. It is long, which is weird because the tangled phase has already ended. It's not bad, but it doesn't look that good with the way it was packaged, unlike the Merida doll.
The face: While it's good, she looks nothing like a 16 yr old girl. She looks like she is 21. Which is not necessarily bad. Some complain about the lips being pink and not red, and I can see why they're complaining.
Now the rest of the doll: When making an Ariel doll, you'll expect her to be in her seashell outfit, which is perfectly fine, but because of the lack of clothes, you tend to over-accessorize her. Well, They didn't accessorize her enough. She doesn't have a fork, she doesn't have that many bracelets, she doesn't have a trident or something. She looks dull. The tail however, is what most people will talk about (aside from the dress). The tail is nice. I like the rhinestones and how they're supposed to be water droplets. But they also seem dull. I mean, couldn't they have strapped a starfish on it? And the way it's connected to the stomach is weird. It's just there. There isn't something that signifies the cut off. The sea shells are nice too. The color is nice, and so are her scales. It shows that they worked hard on them. But the fins are just bad. Couldn't they have made them lighter? Maybe with a net or something? The rhinestones are nice, but the fin itself looks bad.

Now the ultimate question, is it worth $110? Personally, no. It's worth maybe $80 to $89.99. While nice, it just doesn't go the extra mile most of the LE do. Merida was different, she had a different face from the other dolls, she had incredibly detailed bows and arrows. Her dress was made of good material, not the cheap kind you find in the classic dolls. Her belt was highly detailed and she had a scottish hat (?) tied to it. And the fake bear cloak. Her eyes had that "painted on wood" kind of look. And she even had the necklace! It was worth $110. But this isn't. The 2006 doll that was full of fake pearls and the staff is worth $110. But sadly this is not.

This doll gets a 3.75 out of 5 from me.

Hi everyone, to clarify a few questions.

1) You can order more than one doll, it just says limit one per order, so you can order her more than once but you have to do it in separate orders. So you can still have the same shipping and billing details so long as if they are in separate orders. This just prevents people from ordering multiple amounts at once and depleting the stock in one transaction.

2) In terms of charging your card whilst they do state that they only charge your card when the item ships they actually do put a hold on your card of the amount they will charge. So if you do not have enough on your card it will decline. Most stores do this, it is similar to making a deposit on a preorder. It just ensures that you are serious about the preorder and have the funds available.

3) in terms of the confirmation, you need to get an email from Disneystore that confirms your order and to check if your order did go through you can check the order tracking using the order number. If it works it will come up with your order details and say the status is not available but after a few hours after you place the order should change to active, but if does not it will say curiouser and curiouser and that there is an error asking you to try your search again. If this is the case your order still might have gone through but it would be best to confirm that by either emailing or calling the Disney Store.

Sorry I tried posting this earlier but the site was down.

They did the Woody/Buzz combo and Jack - so Eric would technically be the 4th male doll in the series

ordered mine! my store got 13 and only two people bought dolls ahead of me this morning. I asked my CM's about Eric, DFDC, and Frozen stuff, but they claimed to know absolutely nothing about any of them. When I mentioned Frozen, they seemed genuinely baffled haha

That is a fair point but arguably speaking as well this will be the first male doll based on a human (and who has hair). Buzz and Woody are toys so you could say that they were released as action figures and not dolls (hence why Woody has the plastic hair rather than rooted hair, they are supposed to be LE replicas of the toys in the movie) and in Jack's case due to his look you cannot really compare him to male dolls based on humans. So really Prince Eric will be the first male doll based on a human but the 4th male character to be released in the limited edition line. Depending on how they release him as well I'd imagine he'd be the first male in the LE princess line too.

I agree, the LE line generally takes a while to sell out. I for one think that Ariel will sell out faster than Cinderella did because of her popularity, but then again she does have an additional 1000 more than Cinderella.

The ones that do tend to sell out quickly are the surprise releases due to their smaller edition size. They generally tend to sell out 24hrs from release. I remember I did not know about Tremaine and by the time I did (which was just the day after she was released) she was already sold out, so I had to order her from the UK site. I think Ursula is the more popular villain so she may sell out faster. I think Eric will be interesting, as the demand for this will solely depend on the look as the character is not really popular when compared against Ariel and Ursula and it is a male doll which tends to not be very popular amongst the general doll target audience. This is why I think that maybe Ursua will be either a 1500-2000 LE and Eric will be a 500 but only time will tell I guess.

I also wonder how they will release it? will they release the two dolls at the same time? As Disney has never done that before unless they are boxed together. Either way it will be very interesting to see how it all pans out. Can't wait till October now, but I figured they would release some info during the expo next week! So excited!!

Ugh! I just want to skip ahead to my Ursula! All this talk...and constantly up and down forum...is just making me more and more excited! I've been on my best behavior! I want my reward! ;D

I had it in mind for the past couple of weeks to pre-order her online, and then go to the store to see if I could get her and then cancel the online order (same idea Quasimodo had). All my previous experiences with getting the 17" LE dolls off of the Disney store website ended with 2 weeks going by, + another 5-7 for her to arrive. And I really just wanted to have her the day she's officially released.

Anyway, I did that, and I was the first one there...at 8:30AM! There were only two other people who waited to get her, and they arrived a little after 9 (store opens at 10). Even the manager and the other cast member were surprised that there weren't more people. A family who had a little girl got the first one, which I didn't mind, and I got the 2nd one :)

I also went to a store today too and i got there at 6 ready to fight a crowd with my bare hands lol but it was just me and my aunt up until 9:30 and two other people showed up! the store had 12!! Im kinda glad it was chill and laid back because i was stressed that i was gunna have to bother with some rude people lol. I was there first but a little girl and her dad got there at 9:30 there and i let them do the opening the lock ceremony (does anyone else's store do this? it was the CUTEST) so they got the first doll and I got the second!!!!
