Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
She probably went and ordered in store.

Yep, In store and online incase one didn't work out. Maybe it will be a good trading piece for when the Fairytale Designer dolls come out if I miss a set.

The Preorder For The Designer Couples On Disney Store.com Has Sold. Im Kinda Crest fallen About That. It Means Its Going To Be A frenzy To get them And Theres No Guarantee For Them Let Alone Snagging Eric And Ursula. Sigh.... people.

I am so looking forward to this Ursula doll. Each new picture makes me see something new about her and make me want her even more!

Also, they really are getting their money's worth out of that designer shell mold huh?

I really wanted to get Snow White and the Prince and Rapunzel and Flynn, but I already bought the LE Snow White dress and I don't need my mother to nag at me again. :hs:

I can't wait for Ursula to come out! I don't know how I feel about Eric. It is neat that he is the first male 17" collector doll but he would look soooo much better with a human Ariel doll to sit next to him I am new to this but it seems unlikely that they will release a 4th doll?

My two favorite Disney movies are Sleeping Beauty and Little Mermaid so I am really excited for next year's dolls as well. Maleficent is going to look amazing! Do you think there is a chance Maleficent's doll release will coincide with the new live action movie coming out July 2nd instead of the Sleeping Beauty blu-ray release?

So.... Am I the only one who thinks that Disney will release a "2 doll set" with Both Anna and Elsa on release day? I'm pretty sure they're gonna do that. What bothers me the most is that Elsa and Anna are the same hight in the dolls. WHY! In the movie, Elsa is taller. Why can't they do that in the dolls to? I'm sure that making Elsa 1.5" higher or Anna 1.5" lower isn't a big deal! But that's why I think it's better if Disney does the 2 doll set. But it doesn't work every time. Merida isn't that short with the Elinor doll.

I hope they don't do a two doll set. I don't want both, I just want Elsa. It's the reason I didn't buy the D23 Elsa/Anna doll set and the reason I didn't buy the Merida/Elinor doll set (if this set goes on sale, then I'll buy it) I don't want to pay extra for a doll I don't even want. If they do do a two doll set, then I guess I'll just have to suck it up and buy it, but I won't be happy about it.

I agree with Nightmare; I don't really like the semi-crammed look Disney's LE dolls have when they're a two-pack (aka the Brave set and the Fairytale Designer ones).

Amen, my Sistahs and Brothahs! I really just want the Elsa doll. Anna is really adorable, well designed, and so on and so forth...but um...Elsa is pretty much just freaking gorgeous in my eyes and I am loving all the details I've been learning about her. I really don't think that they would make the LE's for the movie a 2-pack. There are so many details in both Anna and Elsa's outfits that I think Disney knows far too many people would complain about an inability to see all those little details through the box windows. Now...if they have a prominent secondary costume change (which I think I've seen at least one for each)...then maybe that secondary one could result in a 2 pack. But, I doubt that the outfits they are advertized in would be placed in a 2-pack. Plus, I think too many people would still complain left and right no matter how poorly or well done the dolls were. "2 Dolls for TWO hundred dollars? That's TOO MUCH!" Um...that's 2 dolls for the price of 2 dolls...so...what's your point?

I just am so in love with Elsa's look that I can't wait to add her to my collection. I am just picturing all the beautiful sparkles that she is going to have. I hope that she has a combination of clear crystals, light blue crystals, and a couple "aurora" crystals. I am just so excited for this movie and whenever she is released!

I can't help but wonder how they're going to handle pre-orders for Anna and Elsa. Last I heard we're supposed to be able to pre-order Anna in October and she will be released in November. Nothing was mentioned about Elsa though. I would guess that they would make her the "surprise" release, but that really wouldn't be a surprise at all. I hope they do pre-orders for both Anna and Elsa. I feel like if they made Elsa the surprise release it would put the two on unequal footing since the most popular character is the one who gets the pre-order and the villain is usually the surprise release. This story is about two sisters and they are the main characters. From what I've read online while both sisters are popular, more people seem to be interested in Elsa. The movie is based off of "The Snow Queen" after all. I'm sure we'll get both dolls either way, but I just think it would be better if they both got pre-orders. It would be interesting to see which one sells out first. I also can't help but think that since they made LE Eric, they may make the surprise release Kristoff and/or Hans.

Even though it seems like Elsa and Anna are both the main characters, I feel like Disney is going to treat Anna as the "star" of the film and Elsa as a supporting character. If they are paying attention, which I'm sure they are, they'll see that Elsa seems to be the more popular of the two and I hope she gets equal merchandise and treatment as Anna.

I think Disney needs to be reminded of the definition of the word "surprise". LE Eric and LE Ursula are no more of a surprise than LE Ariel. We believed we would get an Ariel, and thenshe was announced. We believed/kinda knew from past years that we'd get a villain (Ursula) so it wasn't actually a surprise when she was announced. I guess the real 'surprise' was Eric, he was out of the blue... BUT they've announced him 2 months in advance, effectively ruining the 'surprise release'. Please correct me if I'm wrong but Tremaine was leaked a few weeks in advance, and announced officially about a week before the release date. Not 2 months. There's essentially no TLM surprise release anymore, we know the dolls that are coming, all they've done is made more people aware sooner (particularly the sharks!). Sorry for the mini rant. Ijust so hope to get Eric and Ursula without having to fork out tonnes of money to the sharks, so I'm a bit annoyed. Sorry if that makes me a bad person.

To be honest regardless of what kind of release the doll is be it surprise or on preorder the sharks generally are aware of this and keep themselves well informed, that is why they are always able to gain the upper hand on those that are genuine collectors that honestly want to buy the items. Most sharks will find ways to cheat the system to prevent others from getting the items, be it purchasing more than they should, cutting in line, finding ways to be the first in line etc.

so I think regardless of whether or not disney releases items as surprises or not the sharks are usually one step ahead of the actual collectors and this is because they research the market they are trying to scam and determines the tricks and trades of the system. It's like a job for them, as for most it is a great way to make that extra bit of cash on the side.

With regards to the LE Ursula and Eric, the dolls were never mentioned as being a surprise at all as Disney never released a statement, we just assumed that they would be. During the expo Disney did mention that they would provide the members a preview of what is to come, sort of like a teaser, so really I do not believe that the LE Eric and Ursula are surprise releases but are just merchandise to be released along with the bluray release.

I'm excited to see how an Elsa limited edition doll will look!!! I think she's a gorgeous character

I hope you get him too, and no it doesn't make you a bad person at all. ;-) But I guess that's a little bit the trouble of having a D23 expo. I can only assume that Disney managed to keep Lady Tremaine in wraps a little bit longer, because they didn't have the big D23 event happening last year.

You are right tarnation, they were always trying so hard to keep surprise releases a surprise, and just gave this one up. Either way we always found out beforehand, maybe they just gave up because they realized they sucked at keeping things undercover? Idk...

Maybe Disney decided not to do a surprise release this year. They didn't have to announce the LE Ursula and LE Eric dolls early, they could have continue to let us speculate about whether or not both those dolls were coming out. Like Brii59 said, we usually find out beforehand anyway, so maybe they just decided to announce everything now. I'm happy I know 100% that Ursula is coming out, that way I can save my money for it.
