Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information

It's true that he's too tall, but it works for me because I remove that front box and display them behind the plastic only. I think that's the way they're supposed to be displayed anyway. Man, I'm going to have to pull another allnighter to grab these two! I'm so excited :D

Weighing in on these two: LE Ursula's face is better than I thought it would be, but her tentacles should be longer and wider, and I just don't get the black velvet skirt under her. Her comparative width to the other 17" LE dolls is good, but when put next to another 17" LE doll, she's going to look much shorter than she should. Ursula towered over Ariel in terms of both height and width, but this LE Ursula doll is going to just be fatter and shorter than LE Ariel.

As for LE Prince Eric, as I feared with a Disney Store male doll with rooted hair, it is not neatly styled beyond his bangs. His hair on the top, sides, and back are going to tend to stick out in unsightly ways like a dark cloud hovering around his head. They probably would have done better to give him the same sculpted textured hair that the DFDC Prince Eric has. I can only hope his wrists are articulated, but I cannot tell based on these pictures. I agree with Becky about his epaulets: they look very sloppy because of the fringe. And last, they really did not get his nose right. We've seen how they supposedly use computer technology to transform a 2D drawing into a doll head sculpt in that Disney Geek youTube video, so why didn't they use something like these images to make Prince Eric's head? The DS Prince Eric dolls always seem to fall short of making him look as manly as he ought to look. That said, LE Prince Eric does not terrible to me, but he does fall short of what I would ideally want.

Right?! Eric looks great!!!! Can't please everybody I guess. They complained because no males had rooted hair, now they complain because he does. Wow. Picky ain't the word!!! But whatever, I'm getting him and will be GRATEFUL they made him ;)

Wait, people don't think Eric looks amazing? I'm in shock but hope it leaves more for the rest of us who love him. And Ursula? Wow!!!! I love her pearly skin.

I'm super excited about Ursula now. I'm also curious as to why she has a "skirt," I wonder if she has legs to hide or she'll just be like the 12" doll? However, the skirt is probably just there to fill out the box...a strange way of designing her, in my opinion. As for Eric, I want to love him...I really do, but the doll isn't really jumping out at me as anything amazing. This upsets me considering Eric is my #1 favorite prince since I was a child. His LE doll just doesn't capture how handsome he really is.

I hate to cause a hype or speculation, but what if the Ursula doll somehow had Vanessa like...hidden inside of her? (like how the Elinor doll was at the DS) Or if you like, flipped her over, Vanessa was underneath? xD Totally out there but wouldn't that be awesome? That would explain the skirt! Haha
(sorry I may be loosing it because of D23 frying my brain)

Hey guys just checked it out and got more details from cast members the dolls will both be available both online and in Disney stores on Oct 1 as part of the bluray release. As mentioned earlier by other members Eric is LE 1500 and Ursula LE 2000. I took some more pics trying to get better angles of the dolls. Will post them later when I get back to the hotel.

Ooooo, that's a possibility!!! Good thinking! ;)

Oooh thank you so much! I can't wait to see! :)

I dunno, maybe it's just cause of how the images look due to glare from the plastic cover and...because they are 2D photos...but to me, it almost looks like the skirt isn't so much of a skirt in the literal sense, but is more inspired by actual octopi in the wild. Like the ones at the bottom of this post. I am guessing that the D23 video just showed the prototype dolls because the bottom part didn't look like it was coated in sequins or as full as the actual pictures taken during D23 and now her skin is a beautiful pearly purple. I dunno. I think she will be extra glorious when deboxed...but I'm not a deboxer so I am looking forward to seeing photos from those that are to confirm or deny this theory. ;)

See, I think that they not only made her movie accurate, but found-in-nature accurate. ;)

I like it! ;) Nice thinking!

I think they both look nice, but I don't think Eric's face is correct. It doesn't look like him to me. But, of course that's just my opinion.
I'm happy they rooted his hair, and I think his outfit and box is lovely. I hope they continue to make LE male dolls. I'd love to see
a Aladdin LE doll. & I really wish they made a LE Eugene doll for the wedding Rapunzel LE doll or one in general.

Hey guys, I finally got around to uploading more pics of the expo including more pics of the LE dolls, i tried to take pictures after remembering points raised by people on the forum, I can take more as I will be going back tomorrow, so if there is something specific you wanted to see, let me know and I will try take the pics tomorrow. Sorry about the delay just been having super long days while I am here in LA and have been eating soooo much :S but it sure is great! LOL

Sorry I am not able to upload the pics individually on here as I just dont have the time but you can check it out on my flickr

Like I said, please feel free to share these photos or even link them on here if you like.

Thank you so much for all of the pics Polaris. I really appreciate the effort. The link is more than sufficient. The one pic I would like to see is a pic of the Designer Ariel & Eric set that is facing Ariel. None of the pics that I've seen on the Internet get her straight on and I would like to see what her face looks like.

I wonder why they decided to make a prince for ariel out of the blue? And no princes for the rest if the princesses? I would love a flyn Ryder (Eugene) doll

So...random thoughts...anyone else think Eric Doll's hair looks like it is Aladdin's hair and his face looks like he's from One Direction? Tell me you don't see it too. ;)

I don't know if it's the direction of the way Eric's doll is placed in the pic but his nose looks more round than it should..... Eric, has more of a point to his nose ad chin. Does anyone else see that?? I think for me, that's what's making him appear more softer and boyish as opposed to, strong and masculine.

Probably because the surprise Tremaine Doll was a hit. That and the fact that The Little Mermaid is a goldmine for Disney. The LE line alone is a goldmine. So The more $107 dolls they release the more money they get. That's why I think they will release a Wedding Ariel. People will buy, and above all, Scalpers will get them!

It's smart marketing. I'm surprised Disney hasn't released more Mermaid Merch.

While a lot of people wanted rooted hair on Eric, I would have preferred plastic...I think it would have looked more like his hair...but I still want him. ;)

I think Ursula looks FABULOUS! I really hope to get her. :)
