I wouldn't call this dedication, I would call it insanity (or greed).
This is dedication to the hobby. Stay warm and sane!
Missing by 1 stinks. But in this case they had 15 people there at midnight on top of the 75, so all of those 15 wait the max. It is nice to hear the DPF'ers organizing the unofficial line, and hopefully enforcing no line cuts or line holding. Doing DSF's job for them.
HOPE YOUR PHONES ARE OK FOR BATTERY ( mine goes in half a day) xxxx
All 115 who are already here need to stay in the area . If anyone leaves to go home they will lose their placeSo I wonder if that means that those that are numbers 76 - 130 can just come back and show up tomorrow at 8am and still have their place back in line?
I mean, since they (DSF) closed the line, it doesn't seem fair that the last lucky 20 people can just show up tomorrow morning without having 2 camp out for 2 nights?!?
So there's for sure 115, and 35 spots are available at 8am tomorrow then? All 115 who are already here need to stay in the area . If anyone leaves to go home they will lose their place
This thread will be among the first time know if we manage to eat all the ice cream to get to the next PTD
I am 76

Wow...
Thanks Steve, I figured that would be the case. Oh well, maybe they'll reconsider and just go ahead and give all the 'faithful' 115 their wristbands at 7am tomorrow and the rest of the 35 (that get to come at 8am tomorrow) will have to wait the 11 hours for theirs. ** just more wishful thinking **
Have fun and be safe out there DPF friends!!!
So.... Those who called DSF yesterday and were told not to line up until 6 pm... Have 115 people officially ahead of them, AND they can't even get in line until tomorrow at 8 am.
Given the inconsistencies of the DSF line times, what are the odds that they'll say later tonight, "Oh, go ahead and start lining up again at midnight."
This hurts my head. Glad I live in Tennessee and am missing the insanity (or just experiencing it vicariously).
Maybe it is just me trying to see things in a positive way lol but I'm hoping that the hectic-ness of this release helps pin trading a bit. I mean, for sharks and for people who normally go to DSF to profit off their pins waiting in line right now, if these pins don't sell enough to compensate 2 days waiting outside, they might back off future releases and possibly not see pin selling as extremely profitable anymore.
I mean already, the Rapunzel DSF pin doesn't look like it will even touch $100 per pin, it isn't even selling there right now and Ebay has yet to be swamped with them. Up is selling for around $50 and Stitch and Robin Hood I wouldn't expect to go over $30 after they are all released. All in all, I think the Rapunzel and Up pins have potential to be all right traders, but sharks have no interest in pin trading, they only want the cash, and if these pins don't pull in that much money, maybe it could dissuade some of them?
Unless this release has a surprise pin, these pins already won't sell for anywhere near the profit people could have made on the last release (you can thank the surprise Tangled pins for that lol, this set of 4 is going for around $200 total, the Tangled BT alone did that) so I'm really hoping there is a light at the end of the tunnel >_<
I definitely agree. Now the more and more that I look at this pin, it's not necessary to have in my collection. Although I love the concept, the retail is already too high in the first place considering what you said about the artwork being kinda sloppy.I agree. I really think this release brought out more resellers because the Tangled BT got pin resellers salivating over the prices. I really think that this pin will fall in price rapidly because after the Tangled BT, I think a lot of people just really got burnt out on Ebay Tangled pin prices/resellers and frustrated. I could be wrong, we'll see when this pin is released and it hits eBay. I also argued that for a pin that retails near $20 after tax at retail, the artwork is really quite sloppy on two of the four pins. I think the more and more people see these pins and see the flaws, the more most will be just "meh" about it save for Tangled completionists. That's purely a guess though... all remains to be seen. As you said Kupo, I think these pins will be great traders and overall, something of a semi-dud for resellers. I really do not foresee them fetching the price the Tangled BT went for.
