DSF/DSSH Live from Hollywood - 31 hours in an alley
Maybe it is just me trying to see things in a positive way lol but I'm hoping that the hectic-ness of this release helps pin trading a bit. I mean, for sharks and for people who normally go to DSF to profit off their pins waiting in line right now, if these pins don't sell enough to compensate 2 days waiting outside, they might back off future releases and possibly not see pin selling as extremely profitable anymore.
I mean already, the Rapunzel DSF pin doesn't look like it will even touch $100 per pin, it isn't even selling there right now and Ebay has yet to be swamped with them. Up is selling for around $50 and Stitch and Robin Hood I wouldn't expect to go over $30 after they are all released. All in all, I think the Rapunzel and Up pins have potential to be all right traders, but sharks have no interest in pin trading, they only want the cash, and if these pins don't pull in that much money, maybe it could dissuade some of them?
Unless this release has a surprise pin, these pins already won't sell for anywhere near the profit people could have made on the last release (you can thank the surprise Tangled pins for that lol, this set of 4 is going for around $200 total, the Tangled BT alone did that) so I'm really hoping there is a light at the end of the tunnel >_<
Kupo I love ur positive attitude/reframes! I'm a pretty positive person myself... although I think in this situation I have switched more to realism (in the sense that there is a pretty high chance I won't get the pins) haha. But I do hope ur right in ur theory; that would be great if that happened!
I also really hope that DSF will try and do something else after this release is finished. Not saying to do something quick that will somehow magically fix the problem bc that doesn't seem possible. I have come to realize that pins are much like politics: u can't please everybody no matter how much u change the rules XD But try something different, go back to the drawing board. I agree that at the very minimum increased edition sizes would be a great start to help. And DSF from what I've seen takes their customers input into consideration, if we all give our suggestions/inputs (without beligerently raging at them) they'll take it into consideration and keep trying. It is pretty clear wristbands are not going to work well given all DSF conditions (location, edition size, characters they release and so on) so we'll see how it pans out soon enough.
