Just up from a nap.
The line was cut at 6:08 am. Ed let about 8 in line that were dropped off and went to find parking. The rest were running to get in the line just behind them since Ed was waiting for the husband to park. The excuse was a fire on the freeway (with pictures) that shut the 101 south down. Oh well, it was posted how long ago to get there prior to 5 am cut off time?? This is a perfect example to have enough time to get where you want to go on a deadline??
The initial line went down the alley and up the street to the Coffee Bean. Once it was 5 am, and everyone put chairs away the line was only 12 people up the street form the alley. The lines were long but moved very quickly when the Vouchers were handed out 1/2 hour late
Once Nelson got in control, the 1-100 line was formed pretty quickly. For once, once the sales line started, the lines moved very quickly for a change. They only let inside the El Cap about 15 Vouchers with their group. They set up 4 registers and made the line move very quickly.
All of the DSF specific merchandise that remained was on sale for 75% off. These was a few key chains, compact mirrors, and shot glasses. Maybe a few more that may have been there prior to me.
Before the contractors and Lead people for the remodel put up the banners on the DSF windows, everyone could see the gutted out store. Sort of sad that all that was known is gone for the new.
Talking to a few Cast Members, not all are rehired back. Although some were called to work today and the next two pin releases, a hiring is not certain until the new owners call them back from the application later next month.
Funny that when there is a time to get people out, we are all out at a certain time. I sure hope the Nightmare Event will be this quick so there is more time to actually trade and sit and enjoy the Raffle. There will be nowhere near the number of people as today for the Event so it will be a lot easier to manage. Today was a record setting number of attendees.
From chats from many people inline, it seems the Marquee is the only pin to be a sell out from the Event. It hits many themes: Marquee, Jack, Sally, Zero and all supporting cast.
The other pin was the Pin Trading Event Dangle. It seems that these pins are getting popular. There are currently 21 pins released already so they could be easy to collect? (

The other pins from all accounts will be there upon the Grand Opening? Talking to Ed while waiting until 6:08 am, much like when DSF had their Grand Opening
, the Grand Opening on November 15th will have a pin. I could not get an actual answer if it will be an LE or OE (Ed knew nothing of what a Limited Release was and took notes what and how they are released at the parks). He said very interesting and may think of something to be released on a certain day only from open to close and never released again? I did get that it will not have an iconic Disney picture or have anything of a Disney Character on it. Will it have Disney Studio Store on it? Tradable at the Parks? Will it only commemorate Ghirardelli's Grand Opening?
Today had a Surprise release so in keeping with DSF past events, no more surprises this month including the Pumpkin release? But thats why it is called a Surprise release (in the voice of Ed and Adi). With todays Surprise Lanyard, could they release another Lanyard for the Event much like
and make a series of Lanyards for Surprises? With it being an LE 150 "Lanyard", the pins are actually LE 300 and would be a better trader than many LE 400's? Having being the only pins that someone can have 2 of, someone can actually keep one and trade one. I miss those days. But, they are the size of some PTD's.
