Hey guys!

There's been a lot of insanity over pins as of late ("pinsanity?"), what with the DSF releasing a new PTD every few hours. So instead instead of dwelling on all the hot new pins I will probably never acquire, I decided that today I'd sit back, relax, and be grateful about all the beautiful pieces of metal that I do have!

Here's a picture taken (about a week ago) of my collection hanging above my desk...

00mydesk_zps06be90fd.png

I bought the frames half price at Hobby Lobby, and used cork and foam to make little displays for each collection.

They were simple and inexpensive to make, and look pretty darn good, if I do say so myself.

Now, here are some close-ups of each framed collection...

(Please excuse all the pin holes. I go a little OCD from time to time, arranging my pins "just so.")

My Figaro collection...

01framed_zps38244c56.jpeg

When I was a little girl, my first pet was a black and white (tuxedo) cat named Oreo.

To say I loved her would be the biggest understatement of the year...

I worshipped that fat little ball of fur.

Is it any surprise, then, that Figaro (Disney's classic black and white kitten) was one of my favorite Disney characters?
I think not...

My Miscellaneous Board...

02framedpins_zps3f7a3aef.jpeg

This board plays host to several of my smaller collections, Disney and non-Disney...

Harry Potter... Hogwarts house pins. (Hufflepuff FTW!)

The Hunger Games... I love my Mockingjay pin. I think it's from Walmart.

The Haunted Mansion... One of my favorite DL attractions since I was a wee one.

Tower of Terror... My favorite DCA attraction.

The Tiki Room... Another of my favorite DL attractions.

& Mickey Icons... Only the ones that strike my fancy.

A close-up of my Haunted Mansion Character Stretch Portrait pins...

This is the first set I managed to collect in full. They were ordinary rack pins at the time, but Daisy was very hard to find.

The Minnie pin with Tick-Tock was the first pin I ever bought at Disneyland with my own money (on the day I started collecting).

The stretching room has always been my favorite part of the Haunted Mansion, which has always been one of my favorite rides. And the picture with the girl on the tightrope and the crocodile has always been my very favorite of all the portraits.

So, the moment I saw that particular portrait recreated as a pin featuring Minnie and Tick-Tock (one of my favorite Peter Pan characters), I had to have it.

My "Cute Classic Animals" board...

03framed_zpsa93bf40f.jpeg

Not much to say about this board, except... Isn't it CUTE?!

At one point, I was planning to put a photograph of Oreo in the center of my Figaro board, and a photograph of my beloved pet pug Vanni in the center of this board, kind of as a memorial...

But my Figaro collection got out of hand, and there's no more room for a picture!

Now I can't decide if I still want to put a picture in the center of this frame, or just fill it up with more pins...

My Side Collections...

Alice in Wonderland, Robin Hood, and Sword in the Stone...

04framed_zps31227696.jpeg

These were a few more of my favorite movies when I was younger.

Ordinarily, I like all my collections separated, but I kind of like the way all these characters look together.

(Oddly enough, my favorite Disney movie of all time is Beauty & the Beast... but I don't collect any BATB pins! :dunno:)

My Peter Pan Collection...

05framed_zps6685db04.jpeg

One of my favorite books, and one of my favorite movies, Peter Pan has a very special meaning to me.

How can anyone dislike a story that features, amongst other things:
a boy that never grows up
a pissed-off, kick-*** little fairy
a pirate ship that flies across the sky
a crocodile that ticks like a clock
dangerous mermaids
sword fights
a tribe of runaway boys wearing animal skins
and a beautiful but stubborn Native American princess?

I tell you, the whole thing is brilliant.

It doesn't hurt that I actually believe in faeries, that my mother used to sing "Never Smile at a Crocodile" to me when I was a little girl, and that JM Barrie (the writer of the original books) was born on my birthday.

This first frame focuses on the characters flying, and on the Darling family before they left London.

My Peter Pan collection, continued...

06framed_zpsa7f3373c.jpeg

This second frame focuses on Neverland.

The Lost Boys, Tiger Lily, and Tick-Tock are my favorite characters, so I am particularly proud of those pins.

(A big thank you to AverysFairyTale and Docfish2u, who zapped me with quite a few of my grails on this board.)

Some close-up of the hinged Tick-Tock pin...

06bunframed_zps244b4f97.jpeg

06cunframed_zpsbfebe9c8.jpeg

The front of the pin looks like a New York City sewer...

And then you open it, and see Tick-Tock, rubbing his belly.

I'm not usually a fan of hinged pins, but because of the urban legend
(NYC sewers are filled with giant mutated alligators),
I just think this pin is super hilarious and clever.

Now, for my unframed pins, starting with Chip and Dale...

08unframed_zps33b2c225.jpeg

I loved Chip & Dale SO much growing up.

I watched Rescue Rangers almost every day. I loved both the chipmunks, and idolized Gadget.

(I actually do have a Gadget pin, but its a scrapper, so I don't keep it on display anymore...)

When I was five or six, I even wrote them a fan letter,
and they sent me back a framed 8x10 black and white photograph, signed.

I still have it framed, in my room. :)

(A special thank you to Lunarbasket, who just zapped me with the Hook & Smee jumbo-
one of my new favorite pins!)

My Taurus jumbo...

09unframed_zps7aae4ebe.jpeg

This was an incredibly generous zap from Rasputin.

(I'm a Taurus, and I love Ferdinand the Bull, so of course I love this pin.)

If you've never heard of Ferdinand, you should check out the picture book by Munro Leaf,
or search YouTube for the classic Disney short. It's adorable.)

When it arrived in the mail, I was absolutely blown away by how huge it is in person.

Here is another picture of it, next to a penny, for size comparison...

My Hanukkah pins...

10unframed_zps57d2944f.jpeg

So... I'm a Nice Jewish Girl, and these are my pins.

I'm actually not a very religious person, but it is SO hard to find cute Jewish stuff...

(Unless you are Jewish, there is no way for you to understand the frustration of shopping for nice holiday stuff around Christmastime.)

So when I found out Disney has made Hanukkah pins, I immediately started collecting them.

I have seven so far (only six are pictured), and one more's on the way. Yay!

Halloween pins...

11unframed_zps6f2ae53a.jpeg

My other favorite holiday. :)

And... Other, assorted Holiday and Celebration pins...

12unframed_zpsf96effaf.jpeg

These are just fun pins I sometimes wear when I want to be festive, during the holidays.

The "Balloon Artist" pin is one of my favorites, since I actually am a balloon artist/clown.

And lastly, here are a few of the newest additions to my Peter Pan collection...

13unframed_zps3d572db0.jpeg

I actually just got these pins - One was a purchase, one was a trade.

I haven't decided yet if they're keepers or traders, which is the only reason they're not yet framed.

07bunframed_zps66560c52.jpeg

And... This is a framed pin set my mother bought for me me a few weeks ago, shortly after my birthday.

It features the original Disney Peter Pan artwork by Mary Blair, who I absolutely adore.

There is no saying how much I love this pin set, so I won't even try.

<3

And... That's all folks!

Thanks to everyone who helped me with my collection!

What a wonderful collection. I love how you've displayed them. I had seen the Peter carrying Wendy pin before, but not the rest of the set. It's seriously cool.
