And back to the OP, it's also back to school time and it seems trading drops off for a while. I say give it a few weeks and try again :)

I'm seriously headed in that direction, Kim. It's just not as much fun as it once was. I think I'll save my older ones, like my Main Street Electrical Farewell Pins and a few others. As a remembrance, but for the most part, I just want out.
I'll take a cruise with the money. LOL
I've just had an all around bad day.
 
I don't want to abandon pin trading online. I still want to do it.
I don't mind "no thank you's". if it's a decent offer, & I'm the one saying "no thank you", I try to say something like "nice offer, but pin isn't high enough on my list to make the trade", or "I'm saving the pin for something specific". I just wish I'd gotten SOME answers (like the above) today. I don't often pester people to "look at my traders" when I get declines.

Oh, I'm not going anywhere. I'm in this, until I'm old and grey, Pinpics or no Pinpics. It's mostly a question of how much "online" and therefore trading stuff I want to do right now. The collecting, the buying off Ebay, the sending my parents to the parks for pins. Still into that. And I have my own online pin thingy's I became motivated to start because of this whole situation. So I'm trying to focus my energies there.

Don't give up either!

Glad to hear you're not throwing in the towel :) And you know, I think I talked to your parents in line one AM at DAK for the PODMs...lol Super people and you're so lucky!! If I asked my Dad to do something like that once, he'd laugh so hard..LOL

I have made some NICE trades THIS week thru PP OLD system. Just floored I had complete silence today for what I think were carefully selected reasonable offers, also on the old system.
Maybe I'll have better luck in a few days

I had a TA request in my box this morning from the first day they opened up the new site... I didnt even notice it until today. Be patient.

On a related note. When i logged in today and updated my profile, the TA had only 2 possible options... turn off, or auto reply. Well... IDK about you but niether of those sound like the right option for recieving TR's.

I figure i will have to go ask them later. lol
 
Thanks everyone for the information on pinpics. Just reading some of these post and went back to new pinpics and saw i had 4 request in my in box. from the 20th and 21st, didn't know they were even there until i read these post here.

now i have to figure out how i can actually bring up the picture of the pin on the new site, Havent figure that out yet. guess i have to go back to old site to figure out what they are asking for. I personally like to old site better, easier to navigate.
 
I never got requests or replies. One day while sifting and sorting my emails, I found them ALL in my junk box! How? I have no idea. They all used to come to my inbox, but for whatever reason it always marks it as spam. >:(
 
I have not once ever gotten a reply on PinPics. I try every now and then, but I've basically learned that trying to trade over the Internets is a losing proposition. I'm totally better off just buying what I want than trying to orchestrate trades.
 
I just got a TA reply from yesterday's offers- an acceptance- hooray. :) :)
I will now shut up about it after I set the record straight: I think I did offer an LE 500 for an LE 200 in one offer, but for the MOST part, I offered equivalent or LOWER EDITION pins. Also, I trade MY DS LE 250's for LE 500's & 1000's all the time, so I do feel my offers are GOOD enough for replies.

When I receive lopsided requests, I check to see if there is a note attached, like please check my traders. Maybe they don't have exactly what I want but maybe they have pins of equal value I might not mind making a trade for, depending on the pin though. When I receive a Duffy Hidden Mickey for a Designer Princess, with no message, boom, deleted!

I want some Hidden Mickeys and their on my wants but I think there are certain individuals who think since there on my wants list that I will trade anything for them. (Not people on DPF)

Anyway, turned my TA off along time ago, because the same people were sending the same requests and they were long standing traders, who knew what they were doing. :-(

People here ask me though, which is cool! :-)

Try starting a Thread with the pin your wanting to trade and lust the pins you would be interested in getting for it. Someone will be willing!!

Unfortunately that's just how PP works - we all suffer from it from time to time, but one day you'll get a good response :) That's the beauty of pin trading - it takes time!

yes, I do still like PP (old version of course). It's just so many stressors in my life right now (both big and little). Making trades on line is one of my relaxers. Hopefully, I will someday get the hang of the new method...just not right now ;-)

I hope you didn't think I was using you as an example in my OP. I was generalizing and not singling anyone out. It's just what happens to me most of the time with TAs. On the old and new site.

Tho, I'll have to say with the new site, I get multiples of the same TA, from the same person in one day, yet I have spoke to some that said they sent me a TA on the new site and nothing. Glitches?? Who knows. I have familiarized myself with the new site. It's too much of a pain to use, so for now, I will continue to use the old one until I am forced to use the new one.
 
thank you, Luv Simba, I guess I did take it personally since I started the thread...its just that I really have loved trading via TA online, and the new system seems so overwhelming. I guess it was just a fluke about the offers I sent yesterday (under the OLD system)...I did get a reply, and I do have a trade, so that is good :-)
