New pin database photograph questions
It should have been more coordinated at the beginning than a free-for all. They should have lined up completionists and done their collections before the go-live date. I would have gladly given my complete photos of PTD's, Cars Land, Wreck It Ralph, Grand California Hotel, PODM's, etc. And made good headway on Star Tours, Space Mountain, Candlelight Processional, etc. Do it in chunks. Maybe make a shared photo hosting service like Flickr account for everyone. Then put folders where people can upload pins related to group XYZ. Load those in chunks.

MHJ is on point as usual. Man, I just don't have that kind of foresight. But we are aware of the issues we have as a result. The next thing we plan to implement is pin groups, which can be personal or official. We plan to then recruit "curators" in categories who will bring order to the chaos.

Tons of new things coming your way including but not limited to:
1: Trade and Money Auctions
2: Pin Groups
3: Tutorials
4: The return of the Gorman!!!

I'm going to start a joint Photobucket account. Would you be willing to upload them there if I provide you the information?

I gotta get on there, im just an old dog who hats learning a new site, but alas I cant even trade on PP much since they are not keeping up with new pins

I'm doing it with the marquees (and dibs on the group! :) ), that's the only thing I have a complete collection of... Trying to get them all up with identical quality photos. Almost done.

After that I plan on starting to add missing DSF sets based on the flyers just to get the pins in the database... I don't have many of the pins, so I'll just use the flyer image until someone uploads a better one... I think a flyer image would be better than nothing.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I'm trying to upload some of my pictures into the database, and it doesn't seem to let me want to do it! It won't let me select the thumbnail size, or rather it's letting me select a region to crop, but not letting me crop/submit it. Any tips?

This thread should keep going because that database is growing and everyone should add what they can! :tigger:I love the format and I'm looking forward to the groups, which I think will inspire people to add more pins so the groups are complete.

I have all my pictures on my flickr, but I actually just took out my actual camera and started taking snapshots of those too as I organize my trader bags! Creating the entries is a lot more difficult than actually adding the pictures though. But hopefully soon the DB will have a lot more entries for WDW HM's and Cast Lanyards! Woo!

(Although I wish I had my pin catalogue books with me. I'll have to pick those the next time I can, and that way I can start making entries and completing the sets, even if I don't have the photos for them!)

Hi, I have been getting all my ducks in a row to start taking pictures for the database. I am using a semi profesinol setup with a DSLR, Light boxes, tripod, and what not. I will have some very nice high resolution pictures front and back of all my pins. I know some of mine will be better than what is currently on there for the same pins. Do you have the space for hi res pictures?

Can't wait to see your results Jax. Max res is 1200 by 1200 pixels. You should be able to upload anything you want but bigger than that will get scaled by the site (for storage and bandwidth purposes).

I also have a digital micro scope so I can take close ups of fakes to show the miss spelled words on the back. I will work on that project later.
