new pinpics is up and running

new pinpics is up and running
I'm not one for change, and I'm having the hardest time with the new site.

I used to just go to the very end (last page of however many) to see what was the newest pins added were and just click what I wanted to add to my wants list. How do I do that now?? Or am I just that blind?

Plus, I go to either the old site or new site, and there are no pictures at all. Just says add pic or no pic or something like that. Are they broken or is it my computer..sigh....
 
I "tried" to send out some requests yesterday to see if I was actually doing it right. It was very confusing, plus I didn't get an email saying I sent anything out, but there are 3 emails in my "sent" box on PinPics? I think I had checked about 7 people to send emails to. I hate change, but know change is good, but I'm old and technology hates me.
 
I am one of those people who hates adjusting to new programs and technology. I saw the new site while still in beta and I really liked it. however, navigating it right now is sooo... um... frustrating. remembering the steps and processes to get to different options, searching using the new "system" I just can get the hang of it.... I keep finding myself clicking the old site. lol I also know they are still working bugs out and totally dismiss the oops of the errors when you go to the forum there, but the new layout is wonky. I really like the layout that was similar to here.... the new forum is like scanning through a word document with links in it.

It is O.K... I will adjust. I will adjust... I. WILL. Adjust.

I was having this problem already before they switched to a new site, like 2 months ago, pins kept popping up in my want list, I had never put in there.
 
If I remember correctly, some of the problems with pins being added to want lists, is when people used to post links directly to the pin they were talking about and others clicked on the link to look at it. It then automatically added the pin to your wants list.

Another problem I noticed on the new site, is when I search for a pin directly, using it's PP #, more than that pin will show up. I am guessing it's because it's part of a set or series and perhaps that # is mentioned in all the listings. Annoying, to have to sift thru 15 photos to get the pin I was after. If it were a direct search, using no specific #, I could understand. Sigh....
 
I think it's behaving like the OLD PP version for me so far, and I'm happy about that...I have problems with new fangled technology

Is it just me or...

When you go to Pin Stats -> Click on Wanting -> Click on Member -> takes you to a page with not pins... Does anyone know of a way for looking at the member pins.

Yeah. Instead of doing it that way, go to the search box at the top, and there's a pulldown menu where it says "gallery". Change that to "members". Enter the member's name.

Then click on the member when it comes up. It defaults to showing "Collection" but you can click "Wants" or 'Trade" at the top. Instead of that, you can also click "compare pins" off to the left, and then it defaults to "both own" at the top, and you can then click "they want" or "you want".
 
I am doing one or 2 pins each way for right now, just so I know how to use the new one when the old one is no longer available

On a related note, I tried to log into their forum a little while ago, as I had some questions I was hoping to get answered, and was getting a lot of error messages and a weird looking layout. It was working, but no graphics, etc. For anyone else who logged in there recently, did you have the same issues?
 

It's been like that for a several days...they got hit by hackers too...
 

PI can't even get into any of the forums so I guess its still down hope its back up soon I was having withdrawal symptoms with this site being down aswell a lot lately
 
I think Pin Talk has two issues happening simultaneously. Hackers affecting all VBulletin users and trying to move to a new forum integrated with the new website. I think they actually solved their hacker issue when they updated the vBulletin software. I think the continuing issues are a result of trying to get the new forum up and running, without completely killing the old one, or things being in different servers, or something, don't know enough of what they are trying to do or technical stuff to know. But configuration errors not hackers.
 
Still having problems with Forum, getting script language errors and a bunch of mumbo jumbo. What do I need to do to get back into the Forum and pin disussions. Running IE 8.0 under Windows XP.

Am I correct that you cannot see the PP #'s under the "free" new version? can you see the #'s if you upgrade??? I like pictures and trades/wants, but I ALSO like numbers for the "temporal" value...approximate time it was released!

You, nothing. The errors are on their end. And only they can fix them.

I see numbers just fine under search. I don't have power and am currently on my phone and I can't get to member collections, including my own on my phone. So I can't verify if they are there. But on search results they are the fist thing under the pictures. On the indidual pin pages I see them in front of the name. And the number shows up in the URL.

No, I'm still on the free version and all of that info is there. It's all in different places now, but it's there.
