"Old" PinPics site no longer updating new pin pics/infomation
But pin pics, for why ?!?!?!?!?the search engine faaaiiiils and resets, the white screen of unknowning trades, the fact you cant select too many people to trade at once or it all overlaps, the unessery extra ticking after ive selectd the pins I want to trade?!?!?
And the fact three letter words spook the search. I try pp I do, but you make me sad.
 
My concern, in addition to the white screen, is that we can no longer see the e-mail addresses when a request comes in. Without an e-mail address, I can not check traders' references. Is there a different feedback system elsewhere I am not aware of?
 
When I get a Trade Request on the new Pinpics, which doesn't happen very often, I ask for a person's email
first. If they don't respond, then I just ignore the original request. This is not very convenient, but it does
work.

Not with the new site. The request comes into our PP inboxes not to our e-mail addresses. The old site is still business as usual.

I did the same thing this morning, but I do not trust that method much. In the past, someone showed my e-mail address (as if it is their own) to someone else as their own dizpins reference.
 
I am going to try and get the compare feature out quickly. I am sorry that it's taking so long everyone! I'll be working on it late tonight and tomorrow night! Maybe this weekend it will be out! :)

Actually, you CAN do this on the old pin pics site. I'm not sure about the new site. I'm with everyone else. I'm currently using old pin pics and DPP. When the old pin pics loses its usefulness, I'll simply stop using pin pics altogether. It's sad, really, that the new owners are killing pin pics, but what are you gonna do?
 
I'd love it if DPP would get off the host its on now. My company blocks it because it says it's for dating and personals. Do you have enough steam and donations now to move to a more legit server?

hahahaha, and my work used to block DPP but it doesnt now, so I am here hoping it doesnt switch servers!

IIRC, it's not the money but has to do with avoiding hosting companies that will pull the site down when PP tries to claim they own the patent on pin collecting sites. Any location that will ignore a frivolous takedown notice is likely to be the kind of hosting company that would attract 'questionable' websites, thus is likely to fall under some blocked site lists... It's certainly on a better server now than the first one, which produced links to all kinds of hacker, piracy and pornography sites... I wanted to do a virus scan on my computer after just doing an IP lookup... :) 'Dating and personals' is definitely an improvement.

Did you ever ask your IT dept if they could white-list it? Or might that raise too many questions since it's likely not a work-related site? :) They should be able to make the site accessible if they aren't opposed to some leisure-time browsing by the employees...

Sadly I don't know much about the new site....I've still been using the 'old site' link in PinPics. I'll let you know if I figure it out...

so that's why it times out every time I bring up the site at work. But now I just use my iPad instead :wiggle:

This times a million!!

If you can actually make a trade on the new pp, be careful. The whole message system is internal. If you have any problems with the other trader and file a complaint, pp will block all messages and you'll no longer see or have access to them. It happened to me and when I asked to get info from them, I was told no. Of course the other trader was rewarded for their bad behavior with my high end pin. I do believe that person was finally banned on pp. But who knows how many other people were ripped off.... Oh wait, quite a few. No thanks to pp, other traders who were ripped off started posting on FB, ect. Thank goodness we could find the information that way, since apparently pp wants to hide what goes on with pin trades gone bad.

Oh well back to a site that keeps crashing and I agree with everything that's been said it needs fixing badly not to mention I reported over a year ago that I no longer can get into the forum and basically they have ignored me

People still seem to be adding pins or making comments on the old site. When will the not updating part start?
