So while I really like this set, I can't help but wonder if it is truly unauthorized? To me, the pins look too nicely made to be fakes. But I know Disneyland did not sell them. I wonder if Disney made them, but they for whatever reason just simply never sold them (Cost too much to make? Didn't think they would sell?)

I know some sellers on a well-known website have them for sale, not really sure how they got them, but what I want to know is, Has anyone bought this set, seen this set, Anything?

What are the pins like? Are they like a real Disney pin or simply a good cover-up of a scapper/fake (Maybe a little above a Sedesma)? Before I got spending the 70-100 dollars for the set, I'd like to know what others who may already own them or have even seen them in person think of the pins.

a few observations:

1.) framed sets usually wouldn't have Disneyland branded on any of the pins

2.) all of the pictures can be directly taken from screencaps of the movie(s) or google

3.) ????

4.) Profit.

I just posted the image from pinpics, but if you get on the bay and search for them (I don't think we can post those images here), you can see real pictures of the pins. I'm just looking for feedback on someone who has seen them/handled them in real life, not photos on the internet. :)

I don't think Ebay is forbidden from DPF since it's a vital tool for pin collectors. I'm very interested to see if this set is real or not.

Let me send a quick message to a mod to find out if I can post those images here. I don't believe I can post the images or even link to an auction here.

Ive posted a link to an auction for the scrapper Mothers day Kevin pin as it contained information about the pin with no harm done. I think links to something you need help with are fine, links to ebay listings YOUR selling are not allowed (as I saw that posted in another thread as it was edited)

Dont post the images, post the link to the auction Shane.
That would be ok.
Images could be property of the owner and all that stuff but you can always steer us to the link.

I don't believe that to be true. Thinking about different framed sets I've seen, some are in fact, branded Disneyland on the pins. Some of the pins in the set Pin 62506: DLR - Mickey's Pin Odyssey 2008 - Billboard - Framed 8-Pin Set are branded Disneyland Resort. In this framed set; Pin 70098: DLR - Haunted Mansion O'Pin House: Framed Pin Set, the mat in the frame is branded Disneyland resort.

That's just a couple but I even found a few more branded Disneyland either on the pins or on the matting in the frame set branded from Disneyland. Therefore, I believe that's not a good indicator of a set maybe Disney did or did not produce.

hmm I think Ive used that seller before and I dont think i had any problems with them BUT maybe send them an email asking to see the back of the pins to see if they have the pin trading logo etc on the back as these could be like the Movie strip pins that are LE but not made by Disney. I could be wrong but thats what I would do if I really wanted the set.

Thanks for the advice Danny! I think I'll drop them a note and see what they say. :)

Still would be interested if anyone else knows anything about this set :)

Ask how they acquired the pins and a receit to be sure and check out his other pins to see if he's selling other possible scrappers.

I took a look at their feedback and they've had a few people leave them feedback that they are selling scappers but it looks like a drop in a bucket compaired to all the positive feedback they get. I'll see what they say and let everyone here know what they said.

I have purchased medium to high-level Stitch pins from this seller at least a couple of times in the past and all has been well!

Still no answer from this seller. Guess I'm not shocked. He either has something to hide or is out of town for the holidays. I'd tend to believe the first one. Oh well! I guess the mystery goes on!

I saw this pin on Ebay earlier in the year, I'm sure there were some discussions on Dizpins about it. From what I remember, people were saying that the designs were produced for Disney, but for some reason they decided to cancel production.

I thought on Dizpins they did not allow unauthorized pins to be talked about? Anyway, according some comments on pinpics, it was because they couldn't get them framed. Seems odd, it's not a like a framed set is something new to Disney so why would they have problems getting it framed?

I say if you want them for your collection get them and don't worry about it. If they were never released they are obviously not valid pins but if they fit your collection and you want them what is the harm.

While I agree with you there, the biggest harm is that I don't want to be stuck with a bunch of crappy sedesma like pins (okay okay, that's the worst case, but it makes my point). That's why I was asking if anyone had seen them or owned them, so I could figure out are they like a current in park pin or made in some different way.

You might consider explaining that to the seller. he might answer if he thinks the concern is not with the legitimacy but the quality of the pins.

When I sent the seller over 5 days and he never answered. I told him I already knew they were not released in the park, but I don't care about that. I want to know how nice are the pins? Are they the quality like the ones in the park?

I'm forced to believe that he must not be that serious about selling a set. I see another seller with them on ebay and I'm going to drop them a note and see they answer! :)

I bought a set of these pins awhile ago. It's a nice set, if you don't examine them too closely. Lol. Looking at them close up, the colors aren't as well defined between characters/backgrounds....and the characters don't have eyes. XD Except for the Scar one, he's got eyes, which was great 'cause he was the reason I bought the set to begin with. XD I actually have the full set plus an extra Scar pin 'cause the single one I bought had some deep scratches to one side and since it was for my collection I wanted a perfect condition one.
Anyway! If you want, I can take upclose pictures if you're still interested? I know this topic is a bit old but I figured I'd offer anyway. ^^

I don't know anything about that set, but did you see that this seller is trading over 3000+ Hidden Mickeys, park pins. He may sell a few legit higher end pins, but it is up to you if they are what you want.
