Is anyone else as disappointed and frustrated as I am with the lack of variety and quality in recent pin books? With all the characters, movies, parks, attractions, etc. you'd think there would be plenty of choices for people looking for new pin books. The ones that are available have those weird foam pages that take forever to get a pin into :(...

i agree, i bought one of those weird foam pages books at first when i started pin trading a year ago, and now i try to find someone selling the older style since it is easier to put pins in and i like it better. sometimes disney lacks in creativity. :(

This may make you happy. I heard WDI is comming out with two new pin books Haunted Mansion themed one small and one regular size.

It'd be nice if Disney provided a customizable pin bag service in the form of a kiosk next to their major pin stores. You simply pick out a patch design from their archives, have you buy a Disney plain pin bag, bring it over to the kiosk, and for an extra fee you pick out a design, they slap it on, and voila!

Methinks they would sell more pin bags that way? You don't know how many times I've heard pin collectors wishing for an official pin bag with their favorite character on the front flap.

One can dream...:wiggle:

They used to sell customized pin bags on disneystore.com. However, there were only a few characters to choose from. I've considered making my own with pin bags and patches purchased from the bay. Haven't gotten around to it yet though.

I tried making my own pin book for the meantime until I can actually buy one and I'm using foam sheets you can buy at craft stores. Admittedly, it's a little hard to get the pins out again once they're in. If the foam sheets Disney uses makes it hard enough to put the pin in I might just forego the idea all together. Maybe it's time to think about a pin bag.

I was just thinking this other day! I am glad I am not the only one feeling the same. Luckily I still have a few old ones left, but I would very much like them to bring out new creative pin bags like they used to, especially ones with the old pages.

+1

Another way to go with pin holders is to use the felt pages that you can buy at one of the parks - they come in 5 felt pages with page separators for $8.95 a pack AND what I have done is to buy a few zipper binders from eBay. I found these great binders for $9.99 each. I bought 4 of them and got combined shipping. Each of these binders holds the 5 felt page pack and when pins are added the binder fills out nicely. The zipper binder makes it so that the pins will not fall out AND the pages make it easier to manage the pins. I still like the Disney pin holders (the older ones), but these zipper binders with the felt pages are nice too. The "felt" pages are textured plastic and they keep the pins nice.

I was at WDI yesterday and the Haunted Mansion pin bags have come out. They are lettered Haunted Mansion and have the building from Disneyland on the front. They have five pin pages and the fish net one sided pages between. Small is $34.00 and The standard size is $40.00.

This is AWESOME!
If anybody has a chance to pick these up and would be open to picking 1 or 2 up for James & I please PM me :)

PS - Are the pages that yucky foam stuff or are they like the old ones?

Glad to hear there are some people who agree with me! I LOVE the new Mansion pin bag from WDI...does anyone have a WDI hook up that could get one for me? I'm willing to pay a mark-up, but the ones on eBay are going for $80+

I got a little pin book and hate the design so I'm thinking of getting a patch to cover it up. It is the 10 years of pin trading logo on there already.

People always seem to forget about this binder:

Pin 47180: DLR - Pirates of the Caribbean - Large Pin Trading Book

This is the pin binder I have. Same pages as the bags, but it zips up and stays closed. Also, it looks really cool!

You used to be able to have pin bags embroidered at the places that embroidered the towels, t-shirts, hat's etc. Cheappins.com used to have them too and they would embroider them for you.

Ok, I just saw that HM pin bag on Ebay! Does anyone know if it has the plastic inside the pages like the really old pin bags? I don't like those cause after you take pins and move them around a couple of times the bag is ruined. :(

Really want this pin bag - is anyone going to the WDI store anytime soon that can pick 1 or 2 up for us?
btw - it's not listed as being an LE - and the original price is $40 - send me a PM if you can help. Thanks..
