Am I the only one that doesn't like pin backer cards? I've decided I would like to display my pins on boards and frames, but have no idea what to do with the cards. Do any of you archive yours when you decide to display your pins. Do any of you toss them? I feel like tossing them is a big no no, but It seems like such a pain to label them and store them just in case I decide to trade or sell the pins(which I can't see me doing anyway). I know a lot of people store their pins in books in baseball card holders, and I do this too. I have decided, though, I would prefer to display my whole Pluto collection so that I can see my shiny pieces of metal fun everyday! A lot of you have shared your beautiful displays, and I always wonder what did they do with their cards...

Enjoy your pins. Display them for the artwork they are. Don't worry about the cards. If you later need to sell or trade a pin and someone wont take it because there is no card then they are collecting/buying for the wrong reasons.

I keep them and put them in my pin bag and if I do a trade I will ask if they want the backing with the pin. Sometimes when I send someone a pin I will sometimes put it on the backing. :)

But most of the time I will keep the backings with the pins like the Pieces of Park or if they are a WDI pin. The backing usually completes those pins.

I keep mine in a bag and if traders want them, I usually give it to them. I always try to put a pin on a card when I trade via mail, but it doesn't ALWAYS work out that way. XD; Do what you want, some people value them others, not so much XD

I toss all the plain black cards. The ones with something on it, I keep, in a shoebox. Very rarely do I display a backer with a pin. The most recent exception is I want the backers for the AK Animals Mystery set. That one I am looking for the Flamingo card, actually.

I keep mine for the most part anymore just because some people get so weird about having them. I don't understand it myself, and it's really REALLY heartbreaking to make a trade- Almost.... Because you didn't have the card. I just lost one of my most wanted pins because of this.

Ah, I do the big no no! I throw cards away form my collection and now traders, UNLESS it is a super rare/hard to find pin. Don't ask me why those make an exception. lol.

The only time I have kept cards are when they are decorative.

I hold onto my backers and just throw them in a drawer, mainly for trades. The only pin I have on my cork board with a backer is the Alice card pin because it's such a fun backer!

I figure hold onto the backers now, and I can always get rid of them later. Any traders I get I just keep them on cards and keep them in my bag in case someone wants them.

I keep them. I label which card back went with which pin and then put all the card backs in the zipper compartment at the back of the pin bag. Just in case...

I used to toss them. Now I use them for trading (not like it increases the value IMO) just to keep them in proper position.

This is what I see myself doing. I think the shoebox idea would be great for storage or a big recipe box.

I say just keep them, especially if they are older DA pins without holograms. In today's climate, scrappers for even rarer pins seem to be popping up. With the original backer cards/SKU numbers on them, it puts people a little more at ease. Maybe down the line you will need to sell them, or want to trade one away, and having them IMO adds a bit of value to them.

If I have pins that are on cards and I remove them to put on boards I try to keep them in a drawer that I have set aside just for cards. I have misplaced a few here and there though which is a real pain when I get to looking for it. I TRY to keep them in bags depending on the kind of card they are to make things a little easier when I am looking for them.

I would DEFINITELY keep them though. There may come a time you want to trade them and having the card helps a lot. I have missed out on 2 trades that I really really wanted to make all b/c I could not find a card and the person was not willing to trade without the original card. I was so bummed about it. In one case it was just a plain black card so sometimes even those matter unfortunately.

I usually only keep the backer card if it's themed specific to the pin (aka I toss the regular black ones). I have a baggie for the ones in my collection, and for traders that are in the book w/o a backer card, I keep them in the zippered area in the back. :)

Will you please come to my house and organize it for me? :)

LOL. It's probably because most of the pins I get don't have cards that I can do that (trading primarily). I have purchased a few pins with cards (DA, DS, DSF) but I probably only have 20 backers ;)
