Pin Pics trade requests or PMs; which do you prefer?

A question for all of you: If you find matches to a member's trades and wants and you're interested in trading, do you typically send them a request through Pin Pics, or do you send them a message here? And vice versa; how do you prefer to receive trade communications from other members?

I send them a PM here. It's easier to keep track of pin stuff here than in my email with all sorts of different things.
 
So for all of you who use PMs, do you exchange email addresses as well? Seems like there would need to be a backup in case the forum is inaccessible for some reason.

I prefer PMs myself also and I don't ever exchange email addresses. I just make sure that whoever I'm trading with on here has had some sort of feedback before. Someone on the forum who has some positive feedback can be trusted in my opinion. Pinpics works also but it isn't as personable as a PM.
 
I prefer to trade via Pin Pics trade requests. They ban bad traders. I've had two bad multi-trades here and there's no resolution but leaving bad feedback. At least Pin Pics will help you get your pins back.
 
I prefer PMs, its harder to keep track of stuff in my email box, especially since I have had the email address for 10 years and I HAVE to have a spam filter on so pinpics requests occasionally go missing in my junk folder >.>!
 
I dislike the PM system here at DPF. It always times out by the time that I finish my PM. Then, it loses my message when I try to send it. I much prefer emails.

Good point; I did wonder about that.
 
I used to always send requests through PinPics... but now I prefer to send PMs, simply because it seems no one ever answers PinPics trade requests! I seriously sent out over 20 requests the other night, and only got one reply. At least on the forum, people are courteous enough to respond.

When it comes to receiving pin trade requests, I don't care if people go through the forum or PinPics - I have made some great trades and met some great people both ways, so I give all requests the same level of consideration.
 
I figure the forums is a much better indicator of who is actively trading.

Do any of you start with PMs and "formalize" the trades through Pin Pics?
 
Here for sure. Half the time I don't get responses on pin pics because most people dont pin trade any more or they simply don't have the emai. So it's pointless.
