Trade Arcade mystery solved.

There was alot of question about what that "black diamond thing in the stand" was. Here it is ( well a blue version) for the bracelets on sale for the Bluey show at Disneyland.

I'm disappointed there's no specific pins, but digging the shirts. Im figuring they'll be around in November, unless someone's going...

Would it be possible to post Pin and Pop updates in multiple places? For example, I just found out about the trader approve token increase while catching up on this forum. I am not on Facebook so there is no way I would see the update otherwise. Is there a way to send out big Pin and Pop updates via email or notification on the site in addition to social media? I want to see the updates from the Pin and Pop team but I can't see if they are only posted in one place.

I just posted this on facebook to see if they would notice.

This change isn't going into effect until May so we will definitely send out a mass email update and put information on the site to communicate with everyone before then. Facebook, for now at least, will probably continue to be our primary channel for early Trade Arcade updates though - and the community here has been awesome about posting information faster than I've been able to.

There was a post today on PnP's Insta - a 2nd chance trading?
Here's the verbage from the post "
"We've been hard at work creating a 2nd Chance trading experience for pins that are cancelled from events. This is a fantastic way to get new trade offers on a pin especially since the pin is already here at Pin & Pop.
We can't wait to launch this in the coming weeks."

My brain might not be functioning, but I was under the presumption that pins from cancelled trades just went back to their original owner? Curious as to what populates these tables? Be nice to have another crack at some pins, but I just think I'm a bit confused.

Here is a screenshot I took from when they first announced this was coming.
The way I understand it, it's going to be a benefit always available to VIP members once it launches as an opportunity to trade away a pin that is already at Pin & Pop instead of waiting to have it sent back to you.

I guess that makes sense. I'm one opinion but just when I get a pin back from a cancel I try to retrade it- but I do see it as another perk for people to try to get pins during between arcade times to be a VIP member.

I imagine you’d still have the option of having it sent back, but it does seem silly to mail it back only to turn around and mail it back to pin and pop.

I guess? but it's more pins to have to deal with there with already getting 10,000 every 3 months and then 2 months to turn them around to their new homes.

The duplication problem in the catalog has really gotten out of control. It's great that Jenn & Chris have left us all on our honour to check a pin before adding- but me thinks it's time for a change.
When someone adds a new pin, it needs to go into a 'holding pen" then once the info is verified (new pin, series, name, etc) then it gets added to the database. Other than that it's junking up an other wise amazing database of content.

Just played around with the new 2nd chance board (sent some offers and accepted an offer). A few things I noticed:
-the “make offer” screen is not filtering out pins with a “traded” status so there is a risk of offering a pin you’ve already traded (see photos)
-when reviewing offers received, you can’t see if there is a backer card included (unless I missed it) but after you accept the trade, the backer card yes/no status appears.
-the only pins showing as “in warehouse” for me are the ones I’ve put on the 2nd chance board. I have another 8 or so pins that are physically at pin & pop awaiting shipment but it won’t let me offer them. Some of them will be dupes (meaning I have multiples in my traders- 1 currently at P&P, another in my possession) but if I try to select one of those, it says I have to ship it in, even though I have one of them at pin & pop already, if that makes sense.

Curious if others noticed the same. Hope this is helpful to admin as they continue tweaking the new feature. Very cool addition to the site!

I love the new 2nd chance board and think it will be a wonderful addition to the site and a great incentive for VIPs.

Along with the traded status issue listed above, I have noticed that if one person sends 20 pins in their offer, I get 20 notifications. A lot of people might miss offers by just marking all as read.

Also, when I go to make an offer, I can see on the listing that I have one of their grails, but when I go to make an offer, I can’t tell which pin is the grail.

Finally, as there are already over 137 pins listed, it would be nice to randomize the listings. Those of us who posted right away may never be seen again otherwise.

Thanks for adding this very cool feature!

It actually hasn't gotten any worst than it has been in the past few years. It's just more noticeable right now because the dupes are mostly recent releases. There's a growing lag between when Disney releases pins in the parks vs. the US Disney Store vs. the UK & EU Disney Stores vs. the Japanese & Asian (Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, etc.) Disney Stores, which is leading to a lot of these dupes. The biggest issue is with pins being released in the parks, because they understandably don't provide us with official pin names and/or series names the way the online releases do. So people make up their own names and series, and unless there's release date included in the listing, it can be tricky to find those listings when you're using the names provided by the Disney Store...which doesn't even get into the issue with the EU/UK stores sometimes using different names from the US store. I've dealt with pins that have been uploaded to the site three times - once when it came out in Europe, a second time when it came out in the US parks, and a third time when it came out on the US Disney Store. In these situations, a holding pen wouldn't help simply because the last listing is going to be the version with the most correct information and the best photographs.

The nice thing about a holding process is that the person who approves it is able to search for the duplicate listing and hopefully won’t allow for duplication

I believe these should be fixed now (let me know if you still encounter these issues).
When reviewing offers you can see more information on that offer by clicking on the row (anywhere except the checkbox) to expand it. It will show condition, condition notes and backer card - even if they haven't filled it in.

Thank you for letting me know about these issues. It's very helpful in getting things fixed up quickly.

Boy, those notification were really annoying! Sorry about that. That should be fixed now and I've added a Grail indicator.

Randomizing the listings is on my list but it might be a bit while I knock out some of the more egregious issues.

Thank you!

I wonder if it would be possible to maybe send an automatic message about the importance of searching and tips for searching when a user who has a history of adding duplicates tries to add a pin. And if it continues after a few of those reminders, stop a user from being able to add a pin if they have previously added x number of duplicates, at least for awhile.

If possible, it would be great to have the filter by date added option at the top of the filter options list for this board. That combined with randomization would be perfect.

Thank you so much!

We're working on some ideas to make this better without putting too much more pressure on our amazing Mod team - We'd like to avoid a "holding pen" or a mandatory review process if possible as I think it could cause MORE duplicates if we don't review and release fast enough. We definitely agree that the dupes are a big problem as it stands and is in need of a better solution. (keep posting ideas if you've got them)

I'll keep studying on it.

I had no problem adding pins yesterday, but another trade was canceled today and I can’t seem to add the pin to the 2nd chance. When I click “add to second chance” it just opens up my board but doesn’t add the pin.

You rock, Chris! All the issues cleared up for me except recognizing the pins I currently have at P&P in “shipping next” status. Here are some screenshots. Archimedes is a completed trade that will be in my next shipment and is currently at P&P but when I offer it on the 2nd chance board it codes it as “ship in”. Hope this helps illustrate that issue better.
