Don't know if you guys saw already but Pinpics changed up the rules for the reveal conceal rapunzel and marquee raffle. It's now totally free and everyone who paid will no only get their money back, but also be guaranteed a pin and those prizes look awesome. I guess those who were so set on scarring everyone away made a lot of people miss out on a chance at an R/C and great free pins! For everyone else who jumped on the raffle, this is so exciting and I congratulate pinpics. They truley have the community's welfare in mind with actions like these.

I'm still confused. 20 people will get to pick one of the pins they pictured but does everyone else just get a random pin or are all the pictures pins actually being given away?

That is a great selection of prizes, especially for free entries. As their blog states, they changed it for legal reasons...my guess is you won't see them run another raffle like this one again.

There are 200 pins or pin sets shown in those pictures, and there were 200 entrie slots... so, I am guessing everyone who reserved a spot will get one of the pins shown. :)

Its sad that someone threatened legal action. Does that mean all the games are subject to legal action here?

I see. So there will be 2 winners of the Rapunzel pins, 20 people will get to pick from the pins in the pictures, and the remaining 178 will get one of the pins in the pictures but they won't get to pick which one they get. Sound right?

There raffle was illegal like many have said here. Makes me wonder if people don't point out their illegal activities what else they would try and get away with.

Games on DPF provide a consolation prize to every participant (ie. you are paying for a pin, not just a chance to win a pin, and if you're lucky it will be something worth much more than the price of entry).

So, so generous and amazing. I was worried about my traders depleting and not having enough money to fix that, but it looks like I'm going to be set. Pinpics rocks and I commend them for doing this and for not giving up and going away like some people might prefer!

But isnt that exactly what the wondercon raffle would of accomplished? Everyone was going to to get (and still will) get a consolation prize. Trying to protect our site here from any legal action since it seems someone is threatening it at pinpics and the same 'games' happen here.

I think their problem was that they actually called theirs a raffle and advertised it as a raffle until they later changed the wording to mystery bags. Mystery bags are well within the law and many exhibitors will be selling them at WonderCon.

I suspect it would depend on the laws of the particular state. I think that DPF requires consolation prizes, so I assume that they've looked into this to make sure that the games comply with the applicable laws.

No, the one who threatened legal action has a long history with them, and is always trying to find some way to knock them down.

After they made changes their raffle was completely legal. They just changed it to avoid more drama for their site. :)

I wouldn't worry about any games here on DPF.
