There were reportedly ~480 boxes for sale at DLR today but they sold out within minutes of opening. They did limit them to 25 per person this time. There was a pretty small crowd, less than 20. They didn't open the store until 10:30am so we all had to line up and wait.

The kind that is not really a limit at all...

Shoulda limited it to like, 5?

:like:
Like I could understand 5 or 10 limit, but 25?

They sold out too fast because of that limit I bet.

Which store? Did only one place have them? Also, was the chaser distribution the same?

I agree with the limits, however, Disney never set a parameter about the Limited Release pins and how many one could purchase. :( Think it is quite skewed though if the LE is limit 2, but LR has no limit lol. One would think they should limit it somewhere, but to find a happy medium is going to be difficult.

Is there was a 2 box limit and someone was trying to collect the whole set.. wouldn't that take them forever to buy enough boxes?

Especially since it takes a minimum of 40 boxes to get enough pins to potentially make a set....

Perhaps they should update their official pin trading page then...

WHAT IS THE LIMITED EDITION / LIMITED RELEASE PURCHASE POLICY?
Guests may purchase up to two (2) Limited Edition pins of a particular style (e.g. SKU), per Guest, per day. In other words, if Disney pin or set is released and it contains a Limited Edition stamp ("Limited Edition of"), a Guest may purchase up to two (2) of those items per day. The next day, a Guest can purchase another two of those same Limited Edition items. This policy covers any individual Disney pins or sets stamped with the specific words "Limited Edition."

This policy does NOT include any individual Disney pins or sets stamped with the words "Limited Release." Examples of these Limited Release items could include individual logo pins or mystery sets. Guests may purchase as many of those limited release items as desired.
Disney reserves the right to modify this policy. In the rare instance a modification is made, this information will be communicated via DisneyPins.com.

Actually, there are Disney rules on how many open edition pins someone can buy, which includes limited releases.

The limit is 25 per person per day.

LE pins are 2 per person per day.

If anyone has any extra Brave chasers, I would love to trade. I've got LE chaser sets for Wall-e, Monsters Inc and Finding Nemo from the first release. :)

We quoted this to the manager and she said the company policy, which supersedes the pin policy, is limit 25 of any one item per day. Be it 25 cups or 25 Dooney & Burke purses, or 25 rack pins. Daily limit is 25. That's what they said.

Chaser count was great for me and not for others. I got 22 chasers out of 50 pins! 44%. Pretty good ratio!

25 per item should be enough of any one item per person per day I would think...

If you take about a 40% (pure guess) chaser rate over the whole release that would mean a minimum of 10,000 boxes for the total release giving approximately each LR around 250+ and the LE's at 200. 10000 boxes is a lot, but if you sprinkle them throughout the year, it never will feel as if there are any available.

It'll be interesting to see over how many months they release these, and if they change the chaser distribution and thus increase the number of boxes released to more than 10000.

Does anyone have a guess how many boxes were released last month?

I know a few today that were closer to a 20% chaser ratio. So I got some lucky packs. Also, my pins were primarily Up, Brave, Toy Story, Cars, and Walle. With a few Bugs Land. Not a single Monsters Inc, Ratatouille, Nemo, or Incredibles in all 25 of my boxes.
