Nope. It's just Disney. Soposably we (DLR) get only 500 of these pins and WDW gets the other 1500.
 
that's so weird.. The only release for the POMH I have been to was Bambi and I got there before the store opened but less than an hour and there were only a few other people. After reading all of this I got worried! Is there anyone here who has been at DTD at WDW for a recent release? If so how early should I get there?
 
At WDW the releases have definitely become more hectic, due to the hype of these pins...and when I say hectic I mean there are more people crowding around to look at all of the cels, but there are still plenty to be had. I personally wouldn't worry about trying to be there when they open or anything. I even went to Downtown Disney the day AFTER the Tangled PODM release, and found better scenes than I did the day before. And I am *assuming* Lion King won't be as popular as Tangled or Mermaid was. It is really just luck if you happen to be there when they are opening a new bag of these pins, and then you will be able to pick the best scenes from the bunch.
 
I have decided to camp out overnight! wooohooo! Well, like 2 in the morning ish. I hope other people are there, i don't want to be lonely! I'll be wearing a lanyard full of my favorite little mermaid pins.
 

That's probably because of the artist signing in FL DTD (for Tangled). FL DTD is having another artist signing for the LK pins so Disney should be holding back a few bags of pins to sell for the artist signing. I wonder if they will let people buy them before the time of the signing - or if you have to stay thru the signing for your chance to buy them?
 

WDW has more pins available than DLR (1500 vs 500) so it shouldn't be too bad in FL. Of course, if you have a valid AP, you might consider going into the parks.
 

When I purchased the Tangled PODM's the day after...it was a few hours before the signing. We just so happened to be there eating lunch, went to the Pin Traders store just out of curiosity to see if they were sold out (we assumed they were), but they had quite a few pins left with just Flynn in them. We were about to buy two of them and a manager came by and dropped off another bag of PODM's...and they all had good scenes of Rapunzel.

So at least before the Tangled release they were bringing out new bags a few hours before the signing, so I am assuming they will do the same for Lion King.
 
Will these pins be available in the WDW parks? If so, where would you go to in MK - Uptown Jewellers? Frontier Trading Post?
 
I want to camp too, bringing the boyfriend and another friend... They have no idea how these events work so this shall be interesting.
 
Aaaah I will be going to this release as well. It will be my second one (the first was the DSF Brave release and I camped overnight). However this time I will be driving up from san diego probably around 5 am. I hope I am able to get my LK pins (LK is my fav)! I'm bringing my mom up with me because she likes to see all the wonders of crazy collecting, so I really can't leave any earlier than that = too rough on mom. Even still, pretty excited. Lame thing is, my pass is blocked out so I'll have to stick with WOD or the Pin Traders stand in DTD. Be nice to me, people
 
I hope to get there around 3 or 4 which do you think is better? Should I bring traders to trade in line with? And where should I go when i get there I'm walking over.
 
Well my two friends want to go when the park closes TONIGHT to be there. So around 12 am but that's crazy! ( theydont even do pins, their doing this just for me do I can finally get someone to maybe trade it for a mermaid PODM ) but I rather go around like 3 or 2. But I don't know how the parking sisuation works. What's eeveryone else doing about
their cars? They don't open downtown disney parking till like 6 right?
 
I don't really know what's happening with the cara and stuff, I guess well just see tonight!! and yea, everyone should bring pins to trade!
 
I'll be in Oklahoma, waiting for my dad to call since he lives 5 miles fom WDW and will be the one getting the pins. Not a lot of Disney here in the great state of Oklahoma...but it's OK...get it!?

So what's everyone's decision 3 am? 4 am? I heard people wait in their cars all morning then when they open the gates to park people go running over to Pintraders.
 
I don't know about Florida but regarding camping out at Disneyland Resort, you can't camp out in the parking lot of downtown disney or anywhere in Downtown Disney (Anaheim) overnight. I believe the parking lot still opens around 6 am at which time you can enter that lot and park and join the line which usually starts near the backside of Rainforest Cafe (although I've heard it's sometimes over by ESPN Zone).
