SPOILER WARNING! Wreck-It Ralph Pin discussion HUGE MAJOR SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!
I wasn't impressed with the movie either. I was familiar with everyone that they made fun of. I can't stand Jane Lynch and Sarah Silverman. I only went to see it cause of the dude that plays Felix is the guy from 30 Rock. The geeky page boy.

It seems like most of the people that didn't like the movie didn't like Jane Lynch or Sarah Silverman. Did you guys not like them before seeing the movie? I find that a lot people I know in real life that didn't like it nearly as much think that Sarah Silverman and Jane Lynch are bad actresses. I'm not a big fan of either of them, but when it comes to WIR I don't judge the movie based on the voice actors, I think they both did an amazing jobs as the characters they were given regardless if I didn't like them beforehand.

Also, yes uptownbabe, Jack McBrayer is amazing and I thought he and John C. Reily performed exceptionally well :)

I love the cute little short before the movie! It had me crying and so did the movie as well. I have seen some of the pins for the movie so far and I wish that they would make some more pins that would be a little more affordable. I would just like to have some of the main characters in my collection as just basic pins. I would sooo snap up a paperman pin if they did that though, no matter what the cost lol

We loved the movie. Was kinda of surprised there wasn't a nod to Tron unless there was an Easter Egg and we missed it.

A lot of people were expecting a reference to Tron and Kingdom Hearts, both very popular Disney properties that revolved around video games years before Wreck-It-Ralph came out...I have to say I'm quite shocked that they weren't alluded to in some way (especially since Tron was in an arcade in the first movie).

Personally Jane and Sarah are ok but when it is just their voices it starts getting on my nerves. I really tried to go in with a clear mind on the whole movie and the actors. John C Riley did a really good job as Ralph.

I LOVED this movie. Oh my God. It's one of THE best Disney movies ever, in my opinion-- they truly outdid themselves. I adored the references (being a gamer, myself) and the original characters were perfection. King Candy was a terrifying villain once he was revealed to be Turbo, and Felix/Calhoun is the cutest pairing ever! And PLEASE let there be a Father's Day pin with Ralph and Vanellope next year!

Another reference that was not mentioned was my most favorite, from the beginning with Ralph is stopped by the surge protector, and when it asks for his name, he answers "Lara Croft!". (If anyone gets this, you are my bff xD).

I love this movie, I love the pins (totally collecting them all) and it's right up there with Nightmare Before Christmas and Little Mermaid for me. I plan on seeing this movie several more times in theaters and hopefully collecting more merch! It is just awesome.

Edit:
I also would've liked to see a Kingdom Hearts reference. :(

Paperman was also amazing, for the count. It was really darling, and the animation was beautiful.

Can I just requote you and say the EXACT same things you said lmao Wow, that was truly amazing reading my thoughts in someone else's post O___O You are right, I did forget the Lara Croft mention, I remember it very well right now, there were just too many references for me to remember that all. However, out of all the references, I cannot believe I forgot that one!!!

NBC and Little Mermaid are both also very high up on my list (NBC was my favorite movie for a long time, but I have trouble seeing NBC as one of Disney's main animated films, not sure why).

I don't know how I feel about a Ralph and Vanellope Father's Day pin though lol unless I missed a part of the movie where she called him "Dad" or something lol I would rather see a pin of the two of them for Friendship Day. Also, I would love to see a pin of King Candy wearing the glasses that Ralph hit him with because that was a great pun (You'd wouldn't hit a guy with glasses, would you?) and I think it would be funny if there was a pin of Taffyta crying, but I think that would be too morbid a pin for some reason despite that I found that (I don't know, it won't stop) very funny as well.

Ahaha, great minds think alike!

I just loved the dynamic between the two of them-- it reminded me of Sulley and Boo, a lot like a father/daughter relationship. Especially the part where he chased the other racers away, and the part where he was teaching her how to drive. It just seemed like he was her protector, and it was just adorable to me!

Oh my gosh, I want a King Candy/Turbo spinner, like just his head that spins and changed from King Candy to Turbo. That would be crazy! And a Taffyta pin like that would just be hilarious. Then again, she's my favorite racer so I'd like any and every pin of her!

I would love a spinner of the villain or of one of the many form in the movie. I think Taffyta definitely had one of the best lines, but I am a big fan of Snowana (so much sass...such a little body) and Gloyd (maybe I'm just in the Halloween spirit right now) out of all the Sugar Rush racers. There are just so many great pins they can make out of this movie, I really hope they allow more WIR pins to be made soon.

Do you think the Wreck-it Ralph DSF pins will become good traders? Right now they are not all that popular on pin pics. Is it worth buying a couple to have as traders?

I'm going to see it tonight. Fandango has the 3D version listed as 7 minutes longer than the regular version. Does the 2D not include the short?

I think it depends. It is pretty much an agreement between those who have seen the movie that it is a truly great movie. The movie did even better than Tangled in terms of opening sales as well and has been getting overwhelmingly positive reviews. However, the pins still haven't done overly well. I do think the pins will get very popular, but I cannot guarantee for a few reasons:

- Wreck-It-Ralph, unlike Rapunzel, doesn't have an official Disney princess (I don't know if Vanellope is classified as one)
- The movie itself is largely a male film as compared to Tangled which focuses more on females
- Disney has yet to approve anymore poses of of the characters

Honestly, I think if you live my DSF, why not buy a few more, it can't hurt. The pins on Ebay right now are easily selling for cost so if anything, you won't lose out. King Candy is selling very well, but he is the surprise LE150, so that might be why.

Yes it does...that might be a typo or something because that is very weird <__<

- Chun Li was talking to a Daisy and Pauline look-alike
- Cammy is seen in a lower center of Game Central Station
- Aerith is spelled in graffiti the first time you enter game central station
- Sonic and Pacman are obviously at the 30th anniversary party
- Ryu drinking in Tapper
- Chun Li, Ryu, Ken, Sonic, and Blinkie's autographs were in Tapper's bathroom hallway

I love Aerith! That is so awesome that they put a reference to her in W-I-R :D

I just got back from the movie. I agree that Paperman might be one of the best shorts ever made. I enjoyed Wreck-It Ralph although I think the first act of the movie goes by too fast. We don't really get to see much of Ralph's game or Game Central Station before Ralph leaves his game. It would have been nice to get to know the characters better, show why Ralph wanted a medal so badly, and get a better understanding of how the game world worked similar to how there is quite of bit that goes on in Toy Story before Buzz arrived and the central storyline began. The movie does build steam though and the ending is surprisingly emotional. This is only the second time I've ever experienced the audience all go "aww" at the same time (when Ralph talks about the best part of his day). I saw a late showing with nearly no children in the audience, but everyone was very into the movie. The design for the Sugar Rush world is so cute that it makes me want to collect Sugar Rush.

I was worried about Jane Lynch and Sarah Silverman since both actors have distinct voices. Jane Lynch bothered me more since her character does resemble a younger version of her and many of her lines sound like something she would say on Glee. If you have no idea who Jane Lynch is though, it isn't distracting; just as a Glee fan I was thinking of Sue Sylvester every time I heard her voice. Sarah Silverman did a great job. She made a character that probably would have been annoying in most other movies into someone fairly lovable. Vanellope was the stand out character of the movie.

One video game reference that I don't think anyone has mentioned yet that had me rolling was the use of the Konami Code. It's what King Candy enters on the giant Nintendo Controller to enter the "vault" area (up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A).
Seemed to be heavy on the Street Fighter references (not that I minded), but it was also funny to see Dr. Robotnik and some Mortal Kombat references at the Anon meetings.

Great movie overall. It had a few flaws, but on a whole I thought it was pretty good. I agree the pins they released don't make much sense after seeing the movie. Like Tabyta (sp?) was barely in the movie at all, as were the other Sugar Rush racers. And of course King Candy being a very major character.

I'm wondering, are the majority of video game cameos restricted to arcade games? Other then Aerith(which Final Fantasy VII characters do make an arcade presence in Ergheiz) the others all have an arcade version out there. It'd be very cool to see some crossover pins but seeing as Kingdom Hearts doesn't make any Final Fantasy Licensed pins, I doubt it be here too...

"Wreck-it Ralph" is the biggest Disney Animation opening ever, topping "Tangled," which debuted with $48 million in at Thanksgiving of 2010, and went on to make $200 million domestically and $590 million worldwide. "Ralph" added another $12 million overseas this weekend, so it had $61 million first weekend worldwide.
Just sayin'. These pins will be great in the long run, look at Tangled pins now. Obviously Ralph is no Rapunzel but I think he may be just as popular because boys and girls like him. I think Vanellopee is as lovable as Pascal though. We got so many stupid Sugar Rush pins, I know most of the game was there but maybe we can get some variety, like Dunkin & Winchell, Oreo guards, Sour Pill?, Nicelanders, Calhoun & Felix, a Sci-Bug, game console exteriors, etc. Then again, we never got Tangled pins with the 2 twin bad guys, any of the bad guy singers from the pub scene, Rapunzel's royal family, etc.

Yes, I was pretty sure going into this that they were not going to include any characters directly that have never appeared in an arcade game. The inconsistency would make people very angry. However, what I see a lot of arcades doing nowadays is that they have one really nice TV set up somewhere with either an Xbox or PS3 and they generally keep fighting games that weren't made into arcade cabinets hooked up there. That would have been quite an easy way to include console characters such as those from Kingdom Hearts but it still wouldn't have made sense why an arcade would have a JRPG set up because that isn't the type of game you play, lose, and restart.

I did forget the NES controller, but I wasn't watching the code so I remember not know if he input the Konami Code or not.

I think from this movie, they'll stick to the characters that they've already made pins of. I do think a pin Dunkin and Wynchell is likely, but it will probably only be 1 pin and they won't be the main characters on the pin. I also expect something with Sour Bill and possibly the Oreos. However, like with Charlotte, if there is a pin of those characters, it will most likely only be 1 if that. I expect the Nicelanders to appear in a jumbo pin of the cake or a jumbo pin of the game itself so don't fear about them, but when it comes to main pin, don't be shocked if they don't go outside Ralph, Felix, Calhoun, and the Sugar Rush Racers (all of them).

I thought it was absolutely amazing. I cried three times.
I would love some sort of jumbo pin of King Candy/Turbo as a Cybug. I thought that was disgustingly terrifying (I don't like bugs), and his slap-happy demeanor really bothered me. But I loved it. I am a big villain fan, and I have to say, I did NOT see the Turbo thing coming. I gasped so loud! It was pretty funny!

And I am currently enamored with Felix and Calhoun. I would die to have a Valentine's Day pin of them!

Great movie. My favorite disney movie since toy story 3. I thought the comedic aspects of the movie were hilarious. I'm a huge video game guy so seeing all the references to games i played growing up and still play now was awesome. Can't wait to see what other pins come out for this movie. Hoping for the 3rd medal as a pin.

I watched Wreck-It-Ralph on Saturday and if I were to give it out of 10 I guess it would be like a 7 or something. I love the puns and game references :) They were great! I felt like a little kid when I saw game characters that I know and pointed to them out! I LOVED Konami code part! I love how this movie is great for children and for teens, young adults, and adults since they reference to old old games and also modern games as well.

Maybe because I'm not super into Vanellope and she's one of the main characters. As the movie went on, I did warm up to her but I thought she was a little too annoying and I guess she's the type of character that I'm very :/ about. I didn't get why even after she crossed the finish line, she still glitched. I would have thought she would be fixed. I'm not sure how I felt about that. Even my boyfriend was like... so Vanellope is teaching children that it's okay to cheat? since near the end it showed children playing the game and they were third but she glitched (cheated) to first. I think it is fine that she's a glitch when she lost her memories. But I feel like when she regained her memories and her kingdom she should have lost her "powers".

Also, at the end of the movie, my boyfriend told me that when Ralph was falling about about to break the mentos, he was waiting for Ralph to say "I'm going to WRECK it!" or something like that. Like that's his line and it would have been perfect!!! I was like O_O me too! I thought that would have put a cherry on top but alas Ralph never said it.

I really hope that there are going to be like WIR 2 or something that touched on other parts of this movie, especially since in an interview
Director Rich Moore already had some ideas for the sequel. As much as how cute Sugar Rush was and I love the other go kart characters since they were cute even though they were mean to Vanellope, I really wanted to see more of Game Central Station and other game 'realms'. The story that they had before the Sugar Rush was really engrossing and totally made me want more. Maybe they did Sugar Rush as a middle line for children since Hero's Duty was more modern and for boys that they wanted Sugar Rush to appeal to boys (like the ones who played the game in the film were boys) and girls.

The credits was adorable! I love the pixel style! Super cute! I wish they have pins of those! Did anyone stay until after the credits to see the like very short mini extra at the end? It's nothing big but I thought it was neat :)

I feel the exact same way about that statement. It isn't cheating if you choose Vanellope though, since she is glitched in the game, anyone can just pick Vanellope to level the playing field. I know this is thinking about the metagame (thinking about a game in another form of media) but I thought Vanellope was extremely unfair and OP. If Sugar Rush was a real arcade game with her like that and the other racers didn't have some special power that they could use to level the playing field, Vanellope would eventually be banned from being chosen seeing as she makes the entire game unfair to those who don't choose her.

I'm the exact opposite, as I watched the movie I thought it was a prime opportunity to say it, but I thought it was just overall too cheesy. Confronted with an actual life or death circumstance, barely anyone alive will think of a witty catchphrase to say. To me, it made Ralph very grounded that even when confronted with death, he wasn't thinking about himself and what he would say, but saving Vanellope. That made me tear easily hands down.

I really hope that there are going to be like WIR 2 or something that touched on other parts of this movie, especially since in an interview

A WIR2 is almost guaranteed at this point the way I see it. The movie has done phenomenally in theaters so far and the movie is getting extremely positive reviews. Not to mention, like Toy Story, there is so much they can cover given the depth and history of video games. There are so many storylines I can see:

- A high-end Wreck-It-Ralph collector wants to buy the arcade machine for his collection from the arcade as it is one of the only working ones left (after 30 years I wouldn't be shocked) and Ralph doesn't want to be seperated from Vanellope and Felix with Calhoun
- The arcade adds a console or a whole computer section to the arcade where people play MMO's opening up Ralph and the gang up to the world of MMO's
- A sequel to one of the games (Sugar Rush or Hero's Duty) comes out and the arcade wants to get rid of the first arcade for the second one

There are just so many and so many video game genres that they didn't really go into (they only went into Shooters and Racers in this one) that I can't wait to see in future WIR movies :D
