OK, so I want to start with that I know nothing about AP pins, I am not commenting on the authenticity of this pin, however I can tell you that faking a stamp is not difficult and could easily be faked. Now I personally have no use for AP, PP pins, I'm fine with whatever version I get of a pin, so agreeing with Nathan, whatever version of this pin is worth having because it is clear that the pin itself is not a fake. The point is to just be happy with the price you're paying for it.

Well said

It's not hard to fake an AP stamp this one dose not look right to me.......

I can guarantee that mine is real and it looks exactly like that 1 it came straight from Walt Disney World. As someone said earlier there are many different versions of an AP stamp but the 1 thing that remains constant is the stamp itself on each of the same pin.

I think that one sold for the BIN price yesterday. Now there's another regular one listed for like $300 which I think its a bit extreme lol

I agree :/

and on another note, I did not sell mine lol nor would I... If you want it you will have to pry it (and the rest of my Tangled collection) from my cold dead fingers! LOL <3 haha! ;)

Haha I wish I had a big Rapunzel collection...just a few pins really. I'm working on it though lol.

The AP sold for $399. Pretty quick too. There have been two regular ones sold recently, one for $350 OBO and one for $400 OBO. I don't know if there is a way to see what the prices those two actually went for but it seems the current one for $400 OBO isn't "extreme."

You seem to the one of the only few people who think so lol. Irregardless if the AP sold quickly or not...why anyone would spend anything remotely close to that amount for a pin with such a large edition size is beyond me. I guess some people have that kind of money to just throw away...if people are that rich they need to donate some this way because I'm poor haha. The AP somewhat makes sense because its extremely limited, but the the regular pin is certainly no "Tangled Beloved Tales" pin or "Reveal/Conceal Rapunzel:" both of which are much more limited. I would buy the "Tangled Beloved Tales" pin any day over this Opening Day pin. It just looks way more appealing to me and its cheaper which is shocking lol. I think those are sellers who expect that because there's been so my hype for Rapunzel lately, due to its surprise BT release, that they will be able to catch someone off guard. Someone who's not as seasoned in the pin collecting community, but who has that kind of money to just splurge.

If there is anything "Seasoned" pin traders have learned it is edition size means nothing. It is subject matter and availability. You could make an LE10 merbabies pin and it might be worth $10 or you can make an LE5000 of Rapunzel with her short brown hair and in a wedding dress and I bet you dollars to doughnuts is gonna be over $50 off the bat and climb. When a pin genre has more collectors than the edition size the pins disappear into collections and the availability goes to non-existant. PODMs are LE2000, twice that of the Tangled Opening Day edition size and yet people pay gobs of money for those, even ones that have only been out for a few months.
AP's are hit or miss also. Not everyone thinks so highly of AP's. There are a few, more so in Florida, that collect AP's because they get them all the time. All the pin events in Florida get AP's. California traders maybe get an AP from WDI, but usually overpay for framed sets for them. They may add slightly to the value of a pin, but the stamp doesn't always mean that much to everyone. A Tangled completist may count it. I am a Cars Land completist but I don't chase AP's of Cars Land pins. If one is presented I might try to get it, but I don't actively go for them. I think the AP was probably worth $450 or higher to the right buyer. It sold for $400 within a day of listing.
Usually when I see newer forum members complain about the price of a pin its because they want said pin and are upset its beyond what they are willing to pay. I feel the same way about the marquee's I need but my frustration isn't going to change anything.

I'm really not trying to argue with you. Pin trading and collecting is relative to the character, edition size, desirability and overall quality. So to say that edition size doesn't matter is probably not as accurate as you would like to think. Granted the PODM's are LE of 2000, but make them LE 10,000 and see how many people would have wanted the entire collection. Even some of the PODM's are unattractive pins in my opinion...which is why I wouldn't get the entire set, but rather only the few I like. In addition to me not living near the theme parks or having that kind of money for the entire set. Anyone will defend those outrageous prices if they wish to sell their pin or if their the seller them self. Edition size may not matter to you, but I simply wouldn't want the "Rapunzel Opening Day" pin because its not an attractive pin in my opinion and its edition size is quite large. I prefer pins LE 500 or less. I kinda feel I'm not the only one here who prefers lower edition sized pins either.

It really all depends on the individual's likes and how much their willing to spend at the end of the day. I personally don't like the pin that much nor do I think its worth that kind of money, but that's my opinion which I'm absolutely entitled to. Anyway, whoever wants this pin...I wish you all the best of luck in trying to acquire it for your collections.

I prefer pins I like, regardless of edition size. Make it a rack pin, if I like it I like it. People sound snobby when they only want to deal in low LE's. Veteran traders are annoying when they treat an DALE100 like it is gold when it sells for $35 on eBay. Ok, there's 100 of them. They suck. No one wants it. Don't look so shocked when I turned it down for whatever $50 pin you are asking for.

You want to debate the age old debate of pin value. Is it edition size, eBay price, starting price, trades/wants. It can't be done because everyone is different. But to try to say a pin isn't worth it's current market value because of it's edition size or because you personally think it's ugly, well, that debate is a lost cause.

Good luck on your Rapunzel R/C. I'm surprised you like it considering it's not even a LE.

OK, now your just being condescending and you're trying to patronize me...so your coming off as being rude and obnoxious. No one meant to offend you.

As I mentioned before "It really all depends on the individual's likes and how much their willing to spend at the end of the day. If you don't like my opinion get over it. I would be an idiot not to like the Rapunzel R/C...and it has nothing to do with its value or edition size (which btw is a limited release). Nonetheless, I like the pin because its beautiful and I'm a Rapunzel fan. As I said I'm not arguing with you...its childish and this is a public forum...not a HS auditorium.

And we circle back. I say the pin is worth the last sale price of $350 which it sold for recently. Then an AP comes along and sells for $400 within a day. Regardless if you like it or not, the fair market value for the pin is $350+. That is a fact, not an opinion. My point was only that $400 OBO is not extreme. Often people that do Best Offers take lower bids, as was the case for this exact pin in the last 60 days twice. It's like your arguing those didn't actually happen. 1 for $350 OBO and 1 for $400 OBO. If that just happened, how is another $400 OBO listing extreme? I don't get it. But you own 87 pins, maybe you're more seasoned at this than I am?
