The oz release :) in action :)
Yes, DSF put up several. And a few more came with some of the people in line. Took care of maybe the first 45. Raining a little harder and there is a small sheet of water running down the alley. A few more people showed up but still around 50.

sounds pretty rough i live 15 minutes away but definitely not digging the rain. if its comfortable enough to be able to still ENJOY socializing and trading i'll be there to join in the fun haha but how it looks outside it looks rough.

No he's in parking spot 130
Ah okay, thanks for clarifying. I hadn't expected this release to have that kind of explosion, but, well ... you never know. Again I say, stay safe - and try to stay warm and dry. I will continue to experience this release vicariously through your posts (and worry about getting the pins after I've seen the movie and decided if I want to collect Oz lol).

It's pouring...and cold...but I just finished watching WiR on my iPad anyway. Lol Now the question is whether or not sleep is going to be possible...

Awwww rain ..... drats !! Here is to hoping Marisa'a shoes won't fall apart this time.

I hope you will happily get your pins and go to your warm homes without catching a nasty cold :)

Hi Everyone!
Greetings from Pennsylvania! I'm so excited for the Oz pin release. I wish I could be out there at the DSF with you...but since I can't, I was wondering if someone could pick me up a a set of the 4 Poster pins and 1 marquee pin. Then I could pay you tomorrow with Paypal. Please let me know if you would be able to help me out. Thanks so much!! Lisa

Good morning everyone. I will be leaving my place in a couple hours (gotta drink some coffee to wake up) to get down there by 8:30 or so.

It stopped raining about half an hour ago but the wind has kicked up a little bit making it colder. A few more people have showed up but still less than 60 braving the elements with a few more defrosting in their cars.

The theatre did a free 6am showing of Oz this morning. Only a few in the pin line took them up on the offer. There was a line in front of the theatre of people who knew about the freebe. Channel 7 (ABC) news was out there too.

Actually Dorothy nor any of the other character names are copyrighted. Disney could use them. It's the look of the characters Disney needs to be careful of. The original source material is in public domain, so any use of anything in the book is fair game. But the look of characters like the Witch, Scarecrow and Lion were created by MGM, so they own it. That's why Glinda looks different in Disney's Oz. in the book the slippers are silver not ruby. That was changed in the movie to make use of the color film.

For starters, you are the only one who seems to have gotten their comments right. I do know that WB sued Disney and it was a messy lawsuit. Disney prevailed, but has had to tread very carefully. There will be no Dorothy or Toto in this Disney movie. I hope that everyone standing in the rain stays safe and doesn't catch a cold. I myself desperately want these pins since next to Alice in Wonderland this is my favorite book.

It looks like there's about 100 or more, BUT they spread out. So if you are going to get here you MIT be late getting in line

Ok, it looks like about 100 or more! But they are spread out, goes around and back up to the front of the line (once again they are spread out). So if U are not here soon it MIT be to late, getting in line.
