I don't know. I love lots of the Brave pins and the movie was very sentimental to me...but at the same time I kind of hate my collection. I haven't been able to really add anything to it in a long time and as the multiple surprise pins, chasers and everything else comes out I'm just at a loss.

I don't really know what I should do with the pins. Auction them off and add to my lion king collection? Sell them and run away with the money?

And there's a few of them that were gifts from friends that I think if I did anything or broke apart the collection I'd either zap them back or keep them.

And don't get me started on those fabulous unobtainable pins :|

I don't know what to do really. Has anyone else ever felt this way? Or just up and disowned an entire collection?

Adding:

I'm kind of at the point too of not collecting PatF either. The pins are just way too hard for me to collect. Ahhhh ;;

I gave up on Robin Hood early on, but I didn't have the same sentimental connection to it.

I wouldn't decide anything in haste. Maybe just ignore the Brave collection for a while, stop trying for or looking at the pins, come back and look at it again later and see if you still feel the same way? Taking a break from something is almost always better than making a hasty decision to quit.

We all know my divorce from Tangled was ugly. :) I found it was easier to sell them. Attempting to trade them was so hard!!! i found myself declining great offers. So selling is the fastest, easiest on the mind, way to go.

Sell them, make off with the money, start something new or add to another collection.

if you have the Pixar mystery box pins, PLEASE give me a crack at them first? Because my husband loves his brave collection and we have had no luck at all getting the pixar mystery box ones, chaser or regular.

I know how you feel. I live in the UK and have hardly any money spare for pins right now, so trying to get most pins I want is almost impossible. My Brave collection is definitely not going to be anywhere near complete anytime soon.
However, I'm not giving up. I know the pins will find their way to me eventually. Just last month, a couple of great pins got released in the UK, and I managed to trade for the Brave boxset, which I'd previously thought I'd never even see!
My point being, I think you should leave it a while before you decide to sell them. The collection may get no new additions for a while, but if you really like the movie and the pins, they'll find their way to you eventually.
But I do totally understand. This pin collecting business can be terribly frustrating!

Do you like the ones you have? If so, why not enjoy them. Others can/will come in time. I have one collection that is only missing 3 pins, but they are less than LE25 each. I may never get them, but I really love that collection whether or not it is "complete". Good luck making a decision! :tigger::)

I gave up on Maleficent once I realized that I only really liked a few pins but wanted so bad to have a collection of pins that I was collecting pins I didn't even like. I've now accepted that I just collect what I like

I'm not :3

I've been contemplating this since the Brave mystery box pins came out. It's not that I'm trying to be a baby or anything (I can't get what I want! *cry*) But the ones that I REALLY LIKE I have no hope of getting because they get more expensive as time goes on. I'm hoping to clean my room and put them on display where I can see them daily for a while and maybe if I still am mad at them then I'll give them up.

If I had them I defiantly would. I'm missing all 8 of them, the pixar pins, the paris ptn, paris mothers day, dsf mothers day, dsf fathers day, even the little vinylmation pin!

I'm just at the point to where I know if something really cool comes out I don't have a chance. (and this morning was kind of the last straw when i was almost at DSF and decided to go home instead of getting a PTD. kjdevfnhszjkdvn skfsfb xdfb)

Thankyou everyone who's posted.

I like the set but as time goes on it just feels worse and worse. Maybe I just hate pins or somthing.

I gave up on Peter Pan before I had barely started. It was just too much to take on. I've tried to narrow it down to Brave, Gaston, PaTF, Stitch, and miscellaneous princesses/heroines. Even this is a lot to do. But my main focuses are Brave and Gaston (which isn't too hard haha). I agree, Brave pins have been insane lately. There have been too many holiday/surprise release pins at once. I am still missing the Pixar Mystery collection pins (really want that Elinor), and some of the DSF pins, plus some miscellaneous other ones (PTN, Jerry Leigh with the leaves, etc). And of course the Elinor pendant (lol lol lol like that is ever going to happen). I figure if I can't have them all, I will live. I wanted to at least get all of the Elinors but I am even failing at that xD

Sometimes its hard to keep up. I try to remind myself that I do not need to be a completionist to be happy with my collection. If I can't get them all due to lack of funds or traders, then so be it. It can be upsetting, but think that maybe someday down the road you can regroup and buy or trade for the ones you're missing. If you set your mind to it, you'll be able to do it! :D

I recommend keeping the few that mean a lot to you and either trade or sell the rest. I'm currently in the same boat with my Snow White collection. So I'm of no use.

Keep them! It's frustrating but you'll get them :D
We're on the same boat with Brave right now....We need some that we didn't think would be too difficult but find it hard to get.
The Pixar Studios pins are hard to get though :(. We wish we could get Elinor's Pendant and Merida being chased by Elinor (bear).

People are hold on to those Mystery Pins. We need Queen Elinor non-chaser and we've offered DSF pins, but they're not interested!

But hold on to it, when you get a new one, sooner or a little later, you'll be happy you kept them!!

I think you just have to realize that there's no end deadline where you have to have every pin that has been released to date. Just put them on the back burner; you may change your mind later and regret selling them off now. I find I'm much happier just getting what I can instead of running myself ragged trying to be a completist of anything. My wants list may be long, but I still have at least some money in the bank!

Don't do anything hasty.

Also, I think if one doesn't try for the immediate gratification of owning the pin instantly, the pin will (eventually) get to you.

This thought has helped me a ton. I collect UP pins but don't have the wallet to really do so right now. I don't want to be a completionist but the few pins that I really, really want seem to just fall through my fingers - again and again! I don't hate my collection, though. I love the pins I do have and I try to focus on those over the ones I don't have. I just keep reminding myself that if I just relax about it then things will fall into place. It may not be right now (definitely not right now) but eventually. The stress takes the fun out of collecting. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. :)

Don't give up start collecting something else like tink there are billions of tink pin and it will be fun collecting the, and than maybe you come across of your favorite pin collection. Sometimes it just takes times. But collect something else it will be fun.

Pin collecting is a marathon, not a sprint. Although, some people do run it as a sprint, but their additional resources doesn't change it for the rest of us. Frozen will come out in November, and that's going to result in a game of musical chairs, as people figure out where that is going to fit into the collecting world. It seems like a large chunk of people rotate out of pin collecting in about 3 years so I think it takes at least 3 years to figure out if something has staying power or not. If you wait 5, 7, or 10 years, you will see how radically the pin landscape changes. Even by next year, when the mystery set is replaced by some new mystery set, that will alter the availability and the prices. Brave is probably in a bit of a peak market right now, but it just seems like it is less than what it was 9 months ago, closer to the movie's release. Sometimes, like the marathon, you need to push through those tough spots even though quitting seems easier. The pins DO come, eventually.

I cut down from my 55 collections:crazy: and painfully pulled almost all my PODM pins from their respective movies and they are on here someplace for sale. I also started trading/zapping my monsters inc collection. I collect so much and would you know it was physically painful to get rid of those pins. I am still traumatized:anxious: Nobody can tell you what to do but we have talked many times and you sure dont sound very into it anymore. Collecting comes and go's. You are young and creative --get out in life and live it and if you do downsize i agree with miss Pyscho up there...SELL AND SELL QUICK. It will hurt to trade and you'll second guess yourself with each trade. Get the money and run!

I recently downsized my Mickey collection and now I miss them. I have a Brave collection too and luckily I'm not a completist. I have "completed" my collection as I really only got what I considered the best of the best. I found that so many of them have the same pose as another which made it easy for me to narrow down. I got myself a Brave lanyard which holds my collection and will hopefully keep it relatively small. Once full, I hope to give up a pin to replace it with one I like better. So perhaps hold onto them for a while, focus on other collections and in time see how you fell. HTH!

I ditto what Hopemax said- I also agree with finding something else to focus on in the meantime to keep that joy of 'hunting and finding' If I had stuck to 1-3 collections there is no way I could've survived the 'popularity' peaks and the years Ive waited for some pins to come 'affordably' home (or in some cases just home-I wouldve paid had they been around) (Its only been in the last 3 months Ive had some of my older Lilo wants 'come home' after 10 years but they came for an amazing trade)

I have collections that are the 'money' eaters where I will spend $ to $$ to get pins for others are 95% low level easy to trade ones-

I'm one that will go into a PTN or event with a wants list- come out with 100 pins and only 1-2 being from the list yet being extremely happy with pins I didn't know I needed...

Think about what defines you outside of the pin world favorite hobbies, holidays, seasons, foods, childhood dreams, then look inside and see if you can find pins that represent those things- Love photography- find pins with cameras? love Kennedy/Space? find space pins

Don't touch your Brave pins but look for others before you give up- because I guarentee one day youll be looking for XYZ and stumble on the brave one you need and make a fair trade

I wouldnt give up!!! I think a lot of pin traders now a days always want to finish their collections instantly but pin trading doesnt really work that way. There will always be a pin you need to work for or is impossible to get. Trust me!! In the 5 years I've been trading I'm only 3 to 5 pins away from completing all my collections. ( tiger lily - missing 4 pins, 3 pins are from frame sets)(tangled collection missing 4 pins!!! Both opening days, reveal conceal, and designer)( brave- 4 pins, the 2 Pixar studios pins and 2 mystery box pins)( Pocahontas 5 pins... The ones on my sig) and I haven't gotten any of these pins for my collections in over a year now and I've spent almost all my time trading for these specific pins and I've been declined or people have backed out of trades because they want more. It's frustrating but it's part of the hunt.

The collection I've finished is Vanessa and I'm about to be a pin short cause of the 13 event and no one will help me. So that means I just need to focus and try a little harder is all.
