I dislike it when either of those 2 situations happen. It's not hard to see that trade auctions are also based off of opinions and when you have members  to another member's bid, or saying things like "if you don't win then I don't know," it's clearly going to play a role in the decision making of the auctioneer. Every post in an auction should either be a bid, leader board update or a bump. All other distractions can be taken elsewhere in this community. Also, when people started adding bids to their friend's bid, I was opposed and called it out. It's one thing to tell your friend to add this to your bid privately, then there's another thing doing it publicly swaying other members from wanting to bid due to chances that it's not going to be a fair bidding ground. I totally understand what the frustration expressed in the OP was about and it isn't very pleasing.
Janice <3 This thread being brought up was NOT about you. It was resurrected before your auction was even over. I think lately people have been feeling a little icky about trade auctions in general and felt the need to post which brought the thread back to life. I have been watching a few questionable ones the last two weeks. Hakuna Matata! No worries and work back to being happy JaniceI'm pretttttty sure that everyone on the forum likes you...ALOT! ha! By the way, I will be PMing you about what you want for your ariel lanyard!
No worries Janice!!! I'm not upset at all
I know were good hugs, sorry I saw this resurected and I filled upwith tears, because I still fell bad.
I am pretty sure none of this has anything to do with you. There have been some vocal passive/aggressive people whine about this before.
Janice, I want you do know that this thread was definitely in no way meant to offend you. You were only being kind to me and I can never thank you enough for it.
That being said, I noticed this thread was revived days after Janice was nice enough to help me in the auction for one of my Most Wanted pins which is also the last I need in the entire set. It was a really kind gesture by Janice and I tried to stay out of this thread since I was sure I was the reason for its revival but I feel partially at fault now and I am very sorry.
Jeff and whomever else was trying to bid on it, I am very sorry this all happened. I know how you feel as at the beginning of this year, one of my grails was up for auction and I was outbid by a duo who combined their bids to top mine so I know how it feels, it sucks, it really does and while I lost that pin sadly knowing that there was no way I could beat 2 people openly bidding for one another, I do not want other people to feel that way.
For that reason, if you guys really want, I can reject Janice's amazing offer to help me and I can try to win on my own. I cannot stop another bid where it is 2 people helping each other and they will no doubt win if I take my bid out, but I do not want to hurt this community, that is not my intention. The way I see it, I've been searching for this pin for close to 8 months now and have lost out on it numerous times, what's another one time.
Thank you Amy because I am im tears right now, I feel like crap for letting my feelings take over and own me right now, I felt so bad for messing up her auction, and I hope she knows how sorry I am, I feel guilty right now thats why I feel the way I do.
Apples and oranges!! I agree there is no problem with helping somebody get a pin in person, as there is no other competition for the pin, in person! How many times, using your example do you see people competing to get a pin at the same time from the same trader throwing up offers to outbid the other person. This just does not happen in person! Totally different scenarios.
