And I got a message and an open case for "items not as described...."

Here is the message:

"Hello. I just received this order of pins in the mail & I have to say, I'm not pleased at all. I've bought almost a dozen similar auctions from other sellers in the past, and each time, there was a true random selection of Disney pins, and they were all individually bagged or wrapped in tiny jewelry bags"

These were pins from my personal collection, and I was trying to make up for some of the medical bills we have rolling in....and THIS is what I get!!?? So frickin SAD!

I agree the ones that come in those tiny jewelry bags are scrappers. Maybe they don't know the difference between a scrapper and an authentic pin. Maybe you should inform them.
 
I did Tinker, and THIS is what I got:

"Actually, I rarely get scrappers from these 25/50 lot deals. There are usually 1 or 2, but that's to be expected. Yours only had 1 that I know of (the stone Mickey). Assuming that your competition are all selling scrappers is bad business, because they're not. Of that, I can assure you."

So, I am doing "BAD BUSINESS" by telling her that those pins that come in individual bags are scrappers.

WTF.

And Maya....I don't know what the crap their problem is. Grrrrrrr.
 
I'm sorry. I don't know what to tell you besides people on ebay tend to be coocoo for coco puffs. I'm really sorry this happened to you. However, I do agree with you that the pin lots are scrappers. I bought one when I first started trading and I got maybe one authentic pin. I'm not exactly sure how they like scrappers better unless they like pins with characters that look like aliens.
 
Just give them money back and block them as a buyer on your account. I have done that several times.

Then add a discloser about your items in the listing and let them know that your pins are not scrappers and will not come packaged as scrappers. Also ask them not to purchase from you if they are looking for those type of items because you have already disclosed the quality condition of your items and will not give refunds for "their displeasure"...

I just hate it when cheap buyers force you into uncomfortable situations. They are problably thinking if they complain you will give them their money back and they will get to keep their pins. I would also make them responsible for the return shipping costs.
 
You should tell her that usually when you get the pins in little baggies it means they are scrappers. That is how they are delivered.
 
Having bought a lot on ebay myself once: they came in tiny jewelry bags: there were two princess pins: two AIW pins the rest were mickey and fab 5...every SINGLE pin was not a scrapper but a straight up fake pin (they were so light they felt like paper, full of dips, rough edges and all matte finished)... and this person had like 100% seller rating. (Being currently in a bit of an ebay issue myself, though at this point the seller is working with me because they were at fault.) all it has REALLY taught me: is to STAY AWAY from ebay :/.
 
Really sorry that person said that I can assure you they're probably not that smart (esp. with Disney pin stuff) but if I saw that comment I would laugh at that person and still buy from you. I saw a comment one time, someone buyer went all crazy on the seller saying the pin smelled like smoke. Some people are just crazy.
 
That sucks hope you get it sorted soon. I sell on ebay wargaming stuff and bits n bobs (not done many pins as I like them too much hehe) but it seems for every 15-20 people you get a nutter you have to deal with...lol

Personally, brush it off as a bad egg. Let them know that the pins were sold as is and that you were under No obligation to send them ain individual bags or as random as other pin lots. It seems that the buyer wants to take advantage of the situation to file a claim and/or get their money back or compensation. Hopefully this works out for you and you can move on.

I second what Jeff said above and with CaffineCupcake. From what I hear, some eBay buyers are just looney. I'm sorry to hear though that you had to deal with this It's gotta be a wee bit disheartening... I also agree with PsychoPixie. Sell here! We're only a little looney... but in the good way :]
 
So, the guy is complaining because he didn't get enough variety and because they weren't all in individual bags? That. Is. Stupid. If there weren't any duplicates, then you can't complain about "not enough variety".
I was kinda uneasy about the whole jewelry bag thing because when I sell individual pins I always put them in bags. Should I stop that? They aren't scrappers because I only sell pins I buy directly from Disney, but I don't want people thinking they are because they come in a bag.

So, if I'm understanding this correctly, this byer is only acting like a fruit-case, because he bought a bunch of pins in 1 sale, and every single pin wasn't wrapped in it's own peace of bubbles or wasn't in an individual bag?

I personally would not give him his money back.
He got what he bidded on / payed for.
He should read people's feedback before he buys if he's so concerned about things like that, before bying anything.
I believe that if someone continues to sell un-official pins, their feedback would show it.
 
I dont think you owe this buyer anything ... they got what they paid for ... amount of packaging and lack of variety are no reason for a refund or complaint.

Don't worry too much about it, there will always be one!!

I sold a pin on Ebay once, it had moving parts and was legit, but the buyer left me feedback saying "Great pin, but so obviously a scrapper"! When I checked the feedback they had left for others, it showed they had been buying from a seller known to be selling fakes, and had left them glowing feedback for such excellent pins!! I laughed!
 

Sadly this in not the case. People who buy these usually don't know what they are buying or do know what they are buying and don't care.
