Just checked out ODPT. This was posted:

We are only a few days away until the 40th Anniversary of Walt Disney World® Resort. We are finalizing details about wristband distribution for the items being released at the Magic Kingdom® Park on October 1. So please stay tuned.

For those of you who are experienced, what does this mean???????????

It means what it says doesn't it? They are finalizing details for wristband distribution to buy the pins on October 1st. I guess they will post more info soon.
 
what happened at dlr when star tours was released, they were giving out wristbands to people who got it by applying on the website i believe and they were allowed to purchase this pin

Got my answer from Event Services. They evidently will be distributing wristbands early in the morning brfore the park opens just before the turnstyles at MK. They will start letting people in between 8-8:30AM. Everyone with a wristband will then line up at the Liberty Square bridge and at rope drope(9:00AM) they will escort the line to Diamond Horseshoe.
 
Thanks Katpogo for posting, haven't been keeping up with things lately. Looks like it will be a little earlier then I planned for me.
 
The original info about the wristbands is about two paragraphs down on the latest blog post on ODPT for 9/27. It was mixed in with DL announcements. Kinda hard to find! Event Services at WDW was who I called to get the other info. This was "unofficial" info and he said to keep checking ODPT for the "official info." I'll update if I see anything else.

lovedoc and gbdb4ever, if you are coming to MK on the 1st you should join a bunch of us at The Columbia Harbour House, across from the Haunted Mansion, at 2:00PM. We are getting together informally to meet each other and do some informal pin trading. Everyone is welcome and, so far, there are about twelve people from DPF plus spouses and partners joining us!

How can anyone get to the MK Turnstiles at 6 AM??

I read the ODPT.com post but, (my Husband asked) "HOW CAN YOU GET THERE WITHOUT WALKING FROM THE CONTEMPORARY" at 6AM?? Will the Parking Lot Trams be running?? The Monorail? The Ferry?? You can't walk from anywhere except the Contemporary. Just curious.

I mentioned this to Steven Miller, and he had no answer for me there. He just said that you can line up as early as 6am. I have an ecv and don't have any other way but the bus to get there, I didn't rent a car this time so I have no idea what to do.
 
Swim2sea told me that she called Pop and that they told her busses would not start running until 6:30AM. Everyone should probably call their resorts to be sure. So many logistics to work out for a pin release!!!!
