I'll be staying at the Art of Animation (I was tempted to do All-Star Movies since it's the cheapest, but I've already stayed there and wanted something new. Plus maybe if I ask nicely enough they'll let me poke my head into the Lion King suite?) from the 8th to the 15th. I decided to do my parks days after the trade event this time; that way I can do the trading when I'm fresh and not after a week of walking myself into the ground, then I can use Sunday to rest up if I need to before a few days of parks fun.

This is going to be my second pin event and fourth (adult) trip to WDW - also did a Star Wars run weekend and a general vacation trip for WDW and Wizarding World. Each trip has been about a week. I figure if I'm already out there, I may as well use some of my vacation days and enjoy the parks as well.

I'm hoping they really lean into the "pet" aspect they've been hinting at so far. In which case Archimedes is my biggest threat, followed by Iago and maybe some GMD stuff. XD

But if we go duck tails... well, my goose is cooked...

Well, I'm going (of course)!! Haven't missed a year since 2003 :)
Looking forward to seeing all my fellow DPF members. Maybe we can grab a table area in the back for all of us?? Even if not planning on setting up, can have a place to sit & chat between Board trips.
Going to be "trolling" PinPics to see if I have any Trade Matches with anyone and can set up some Pre-Trades. :)

Just realized something. Are our gold APs good that time of year? Black outs are usually during the summer. Hmmm. I’d look on the ap but Cthulhu knows it only works about .5% of the time.

If I go, I’ll be out on I-drive. Since I have the car I can skimp on a hotel and just drive in.

Last year’s event taught me many things, that’s for sure. Wear good walking or running shoes, have a backpack, and don’t screw with your pins on the floor if you don’t want to lose them. Also, you’ll get nothing else done those two days. It’s all about the pin event, baby.

So Jelly. For many, many years I thought "Why bother? Most of the pins are on the racks when I show up in October anyway so I'll just get them then." So many missed years. So sad.
 
Fingers crossed. I looked at the two calendar options that my district submitted to the employees. Option A has the kids arriving on August 8 and Option B has the kids arriving on August 12. Now I wait and see.

I think everyone knows which option I want!;)

I would like to go; goodness knows, it would be fun to meet up with DPF'ers at the event (and maybe for some park time afterwards). I think it'll come down to the merchandise catalog and whether I'm better off going or sponsoring someone/buying on the secondary market.
