Hey everyone! As most of you probably know, a Pin Trading Event is coming up at the Contemporary Resort in a few weeks. This will be my first event! I just wanted to see who was going, as well as receive some pointers on how to approach it. Arrive early? On time? I am reading the pin trading etiquette guide right now, however I wanted to see if there was anything else I should look for when trading at an event. Also, will the pin trading event pin be for sale there (picture below)? Does it usually sell out fast? Thanks everyone, and I look forward to seeing some of you there soon!

Get there early. People usually start to line up by 4, for the doors opening at 6. Talk to people in line around you, I've done some great trading right there in the hallway.

If you want the PTN pin, get in line as soon as you get inside and purchase it, the line gets pretty long. The artist may be there to sign the pin, ask someone and also go do that early.

Bring some good stuff to trade, and have an idea what you're looking for. By the time you finish getting the PTN pin and having it signed, people should be setup at the tables, so you can start going around. If you don't feel comfortable with what the trader is asking for, don't do it. Trades should be good for both sides.

Hope that this helps
Wish I was going to be there.

Could anyone take pics of the preview boards please? I'm always interested in seeing what pins will be released next.

I had every intention of attending the July Pin Trading Night!! I booked my room at a Disney resort, made plane reservations to fly down from New York (granted, I will be staying for a week) started organizing my pins and then the date was changed form July 13th to July 6th!!! Oh well!!! I'll have some extra time in the parks!!

Oh my gosh connie--so sux! (is this the connie i met at CJPt tarde til you fade?) I had the same problem and i wrote a letter of complait to disney, you should also, especially if that is why you booked. They should move you for free, pay plane change fees. I was lucky because my hotel was an easy move and my husband is a platinum flyer and was able to change flights with no penalties.

Allenmay8- if you are driving to the contem....you may have to valet for $14 i believe, but you can come and go. I arrived last time at 5pm and i was about 40 in line. I actually loved that part the best. i got to meet people and trade and chat! i hung with tiggermickey,tinker,alexachomburi,swim2sea,creativeextremities,katpotgo,heatherfeather and a few more, inside and outside of the ballroom. The PTN pins are for sale ther and you must wait on a line inside. There are displays of upcoming releases also. I recommend a water bottle cause i was thirsty and so was everyone i talked to. There is an LE ariel pin to be release the day before in the parks.

Now my question...............IS THE FRIDAY THE 13th pin being released on the PTN night now that they changed the stupid date?

OMG, $55 bucks for the Friday the 13th pin? I sure hope it's a super jumbo. For some reason I was thinking it was a normal size pin.

my husband will trade dearly for friday the 13th pins. He has 41 of the previous 80+ and want to go "completist" on this theme. His pinpics ID: Phoenix.

can someone going to this event please take a look at his trades? We cannot pre pay for you to purchase, but he will merrily trade for it. please let me know?

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that had that reaction. :eek2: Great looking pin and all, but the only way I'm buying that is if I'm using somebody else's money.

The wife would string me up by the ... (I guess for the purposes of this forum, I'll say ... ) "toenails".

Yeah, I had wanted to get one. I totally missed the fact it was a jumbo. I'll have to be happy with just the Dumbo PTN. Who knows, I might be able to get a left over Friday the 13th at the outlet sometime down the road. I sure doubt it will sell out at that price.
