What is it about stitch???
I like Stitch because he swears in an alien language within the first minutes of the movie and makes a robot throw up. I didn't know robots could throw up!

Fun Fact: During the casting of Lilo and Stitch, the director was looking for an alien with 4 sets of eyes. The only alien with 4 sets of eyes was not able to make it to the casting call, so they settled with an alien with 2 sets of arms.

This movie made me want to visit Hawaii. They did a really good job with the color palete, full of vibrant colors, almost like looking at a moving painting.

For me i like lilo and stitch becasue they are both DIFFERENT and are trying to fit in andi feel like this a lot to most of the time, and i juust love all 4 of the movies to

He's so naughty and mischievous - I love that! I have always adored the movie and the character then when I came to collect Stitch pins I had no idea how popular he was! Collecting is hard because Stitch pins are wanted by so many, but I still have a pretty healthy selection.

I'm going to go get it today!!!

Funny story: Years ago when it first came out, it was shown on an airplane I was in. I plugged my headphones in and started to listen. If my memory serves me correctly, the movie starts out in a spaceship or on another planet or something. Anyway, 10 minutes in...I was wondering when they were were going to stop speaking the alien language...it was getting ridiculous! Later on, I figured out I was on the wrong airplane channel...I was listening to the Spanish version. *Hangs head in shame* I never did finish the movie.

And after you watch it today, will you repost and let us know what you thought? :)

I think Stitch is soooo cute!

I have yet to see the movie, I know, what am I thinking, but I do really like him. My first encounter with Stitch was Alien Encounter at D-World. Dude! That ride rocked...show/ride, whatever. Loved it!!!

Stitch reminds me of my dog Max. He's just such a bad, bad boy! But he's so cute you can't stay mad!

My experiences were watching the movie in Spanish and Stitch burping chili in my face at WDW. So far, I am not impressed LOL.

Nah..can't wait to see it! I unfortunetly didn't get it today so it'll have to wait till tomorrow or Sunday :D It will be fun to watch it with my daughter.

I think I'm going to get a Stitch toy if I go this summer. It's part of the new Star Wars set and it was Lucasfilm's idea. It's Stitch as General Grevious and it's the perfect fit.

Wo! My thread got smashed into another thread! /mind blown.

I guess I should search to see if the topic exists before making one. Ah well...I gotta keep the admins busy anyway ;)

Tastes change quickly in this house; fortunately we only hit on the occasional MUST HAVE Stitch. These have all found permanent homes in our collections:

b/c, well, shucks - they're just either too cute or too awesome not to have...definitely all are on the "must have" list! ;)

It's good that our individual focuses are elsewhere though b/c one of my pals vacations with us at Disney - and she is all Stitch, all the time. Sure would stink to have a group of pin traders milling about the park together alllll trying to find the same pins!

Tonight, we watched Star Wars movies at home - The Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith. I'm looking forward to going on the new Star Tours ride when we go to DLR tomorrow, I hope the line will not be toooo long..

And - before we watched Star Wars, we watched the Stitch movie. Now I remember the reasons I like this movie..
1) Hawaii
2) Surfing
3) Ohana
4) and Elvis
The soundtrack is just plain fun to listen to. When Stitch is crazy, he is really crazy. And when Stitch is cute, he is really CUTE!

And - I can hardly believe it, but I will be getting one of my HGs real soon - my Stitch as Tron (STITRON) pin!!

Personally, I don't love the lilo and stitch movie as much as other people. It's a great movie and all, but I'm more partial to traditional hero movies (Hercules, Aladdin, Atlantis, etc.). So why do I love collecting stitch pins? Because stitch comes in so many interesting forms! Just look at the "Stitch as", "Stitch versus", and "Guest star stitch" sets! The only other character that even comes close to stitch's variety might be Jessica.

My original theme for collecting was supposed to be Disney warrior-type pins. I started with Pin 68958: HKDL - Kung Fu Mickey Pin. Then I looked for other karate, ninja, samurai, knight, and pirate themes as well... and interestingly enough, there was a stitch for every one! Thus began my hunt for stitch.

I also enjoy stitch because he's lovably mischievous. It gives him a certain charm that's hard to resist when seeing him as a pin.

I've never liked Stitch. I don't think the movie does all that great a job with his character. I was much more into the situation with Lilo and her sister. But I probably would still collect him if I like the way he looked. I just don't respond to him asthetically, which is why I have no interest in any merchandise that features him, including pins. You can contrast that with a character like, say, Peter Pan (I pick him because Walt himself was critical of how he turned out) who may not be the strongest in terms of development, but benefits from having Mary Blair's influence in his design. Alice, too--I bet a lot of people just think she's annoying. So I don't totally understand any of the arguements for Stictch, since I don't totally don't like his colors or his features, and don't think he's very lovable in his actions.

It really highlights just how great a job Disney did with some of the modern era characters who both look great AND inspire us with their actions. Characters like Belle, Rapunzel, and Wall-E and EvE. They really hit it out of the park with some of them. I think a big reason Tangled was such a mega-hit was because it didn't just have one lead, but THREE characters that kids would fall in love with and remember by name. Every boy in my preschool class wants to be either Flynn or Maximus when the girls start playing Rapunzel. They are going to make money off that one for years. And I can't help but admire them for how well they did it.
