I live in New York so im basically at the mercy of people on eBay. Ive bought my pins on eBay for years its just seems a little too expensive. Does anyone get there pins differently? Or is eBay like the only way for people living outside the parks.

Thanks!

I'm in NY too...For the most part ebay. I have bought a ton of pins from members on here too...I've been blessed to have some members pick up some stuff from me from the parks also.

I live in the UK and get them from Ebay. I also search other auction sites other than Ebay to get rarer pins. Can't say what their names are as everyone would be wanting to go on them and might even outbid me on some of the pins! A couple of people on here that I chat to a lot know some of them.

Most of the time I have people on here help me out and I help them out in return.

And of course I use Disney Store UK and DLRP Site to get European pins

I live in Florida and if I want CA pins I try first and foremost to trade for them or find someone who will take pity of me and get them for me at cost. My BFF goes to WDW almost every other week and he is so sweet about picking up something for me. If I'm desperate, I make a day trip to WDW. I resort to the bay as a last resort and only if the price is right. Lately, prices have been way out of line on there so I've stopped buying.

Funny I was just thinking about this topic, I live in NJ and feel I am at a great disadvantage and is at the mercy of ebay or the online store, I have not yet traded with anyone yet, hopefully soon. I have two Disney stores within five miles of me and wish they would sell pins, I don't understand why they don't. This is why I won't collect podms and try to stay away from princesses, I can't afford the inflated ebay prices.

The most expensive princess (official princesses not Merida) was 15 bucks with shipping. I've spent more on non-princess pins. However, I tend to not collect the very rare princess pins and PODMs since I am cheap. I would love one of the Little Mermaid PODM pins but I cannot justify spending over $50 on a pin.

I get most of my pins on ebay. I've trade for a few of my pins however I tend to only buy pins I really like and not worry about whether or not I can trade them.

Alot of pins I want are Japan, so I must do the bay. For event pins, I sponsor and maybe get a few traders too. I also rely on the kindness of strangers to pick up pins at cost or me. We are loosing a member who did WDW pins at cost for us because of petty, vindictive drama.

Alrighty folks. if your not local to a park this is for you.

I have nooooo problem going to DLR and picking up a few pins here and there for my non-local buds. You would need to paypal me the retail price and $2.00 shipping per package (yes package, not pin folks) I am there about once a week with my little girls anyway. The main problem here is big releases... Big releases like the PODM's, very hard for me. But for other basic pins... Open Ed's, less crazy releases, basic LE's, and Annual passholder exclusives are not a problem. Just PM me, and paypal me the amount.

**international shipping is more than $2.00, but yes, I am willing, we can discuss shipping via PM.**

otherwise, on the topic of this thread. I get most of my pins via trades and auctions on here. Once a month or so I send out PP trade requests. I occationally do trading at dlr. I try to go to DSF once a month.

don't tell me that... my wallet so does not need that.

I am also willing to help and pick up pins for people from DLR. Just pm me if you need anything. I have also helped people with POMH - but unfortunately with the new wristband system - I am unable to do that anymore. I go to the park about once a week. So just let me know. :0)

I go to the Bay most of the time. I am about to do a trade with members here which is exciting. I live in Maryland and go to WDW once a year. I use to love when the Disney store at the Mall had pins. Every blue moon I will come across pins or vinylmations at the Disney Outlet store but it is super rare now. However my parents and brother go to WDW a few times a year so I get some from their trips. I love getting them in WDW. I love trading. I will only buy a few when I am there because I love the hunt for my new toy story pin of someones lanyard.

I have to rely on ebay and the boards here. I do wish the disney store or the disney store online would have more releases so those out of the park range had more of a chance to get some great pins at cost. It is what it is though. I tried to convince my husband we should move to Orlando, he's not having it. I don't think DisneyLand Carolina is coming anytime soon.

I do sales threads here more than the bay. I've found one or two ebay sellers that other people have recommended as trustworthy, but I'm just leery. I'd rather buy from folks here. For newer ones there are a lot of folks here who offer to pick up pins for non-locals either at cost or for a small extra fee for their trouble.

I usually get pins from ebay, buying on here or trade on here. Otherwise just from the Disney UK website as I dont live in the USA or near DLRP

I can see MK Wishes! fireworks every single night at my house... Can you guess how close I live?
I live with cast members and know very, very many other cast members. I trade a lot online too which is how I complete my sets.

Most of DPF knows I'm a very reliable person who picks up pins. I only charge the retail price of the pin + however much shipping costs.

wow... u are so lucky. we just buy pins at DLR and trade a little but not much. to new still

I mostly try to trade here on the forum or buy from forum members, but I do do a lot of shopping on ebay for pins, unfortunately. I'll have to hit up some of the forum members on here who have access to Disneyland/Disney World/WDI if there is something that I need. I'm not into PODMs or anything like that...I'm easy! I go to San Francisco often to visit my sister, so if anyone needs anything from the Walt Disney Family Museum or the SF Disney Store, let me know!

I live an hour away from Disney so I either get my pins there or eBay.
I'm not a huge fan of eBay but gotta do what you gotta do haha

I live far away from the Parks too. In my start of pin collecting last year I did the bay majority of the time. Now, I do a lot of the sales on the boards and trades (now that I have some pins for trades). I still do the bay once in awhile. There have been alot of very nice people near the parks here on the board who have picked me up some pins. They have all been very generous with their time.
