How much are you willing to spend on one pin? I'm curious to see how this varies, and to see if there are any other cheapos like myself, lol.

The most I've ever spent on one pin was $50 for my The Little Mermaid PODM. At the moment $50 is still my limit. Maybe once I finally have a full time job I might go up to $100 for a true grail but it probably depends on how badly I want it.

So what's your limit?

I just spent $130 on one pin. BUT, it was a holy grail!! I had only seen this pin in person once when it first came out in 2005 from Disney Auctions and I was at a pin trading night and there was one person who had it on their lanyard. Then last week someone had it up for sale here (thanks, mybabykelly!!) and it is now mine!!! YEA!!! It is rare for me to spend this much on a pin, but this time I am SO glad I did!

The most I've been okay spending on one pin at this point has been $40, for an LE100 that I needed for my Treasure Planet collection. I know eventually I'll probably have to buckle down and pay more for really hard to find pins, or really popular ones I really want, but it just makes me a little uncomfortable to spend a lot of money on a pin.

oh boy. the mos ever was $50 for the robin hood just married from a wnderful member on here. I have STRICT limits on ebay of $20 and thats for a really wanted pin....i'll waitand wait and eventually get a pin for under $10 or for a trade. Now thats for used pins....of course with LE prices getting higher and higher i find the average is about $15 which is really high i think for a darn pin. So the days of me gettting one for me and one to trade is getting tough.

Hmmm, for my collection, the most I have straight out spent for one pun is $110. It was a LE 100 Ariel Auctions pin that at the time had 0 trading.

And for a traders, I spent $90 on Tink as Alice. that was my most expensive trader I bought from eBay.

My limit hovers right around retail cost. I usually will spend 1.5x the retail cost if I'm feeling very needy.

I believe my max is about $35. After this point, it starts feeling less like I'm buying a tiny pin and more like I spent real money on something ridiculous.

So far my max has been about $40, but I find that my max has been slowing rising. I have made much higher offers for certain pins, like a Maleficent Gomes that was up for auction a couple of months ago (I offered over $300 but still didn't get it).

Hmmm, I think the most I've ever spent is like $25 for the Tinker Bell bottle cap pin. The most I would ever spend for my Holy Grail would be $40-50 for the Lumpy PTN. I know. I'm cheap. Maybe once I get more money I'll go a little higher.

I prefer to trade for pins if I can, or pay as close to cost as possible...I'm very lucky because I have some great pin friends who help me out aside from this, I think the most I've paid is £35 / $50 ish and that was a grail..... The ONLY pin I'm willing to spend more on would be my ULTIMATE grail: the UP Marquee pin, in which case the odds in me having the chance to buy are virtually non existent as its so hard to find, I think the last one went for close to $800 on eBay.com so I doubt I'd be a LE to afford it anyway lol!

I paid $85 for my Grail scene Mulan PODM, no regrets!
I would be willing to go to $125 for my Pixar Studio bear pin, which is my holiest of holy grails. An auction just ended at $155 for it so I think I have somewhat of a chance! Someday!

My max I spent on a single pin was $650 for a pin back in 2001-2002. Not sure what my limit is. It all depends on the pin and the situation at the time.

Most I've ever spent was $55. I'm willing to spend more if it's a grail. Once I get a full time job and making more than 30k a year I'll be willing to buy the pins I what that sell for over $100.

pins: less than $500 ... Non-Sports trading cards: I've plopped down four figures for a rare set of autograph cards :sigh: (and then spent the next few years paying off the CC)

For the PODM $50 so I guess that leaves the 2 I need to complete set out of price range but it depends on the pin but I think $40-50 is my limit, they are only pieces of metal that has a real high mark up, but that is just my opinion on this subject

For me, it really depends on the pin. I buy pins all of the time over $100. When it starts to get in the $200-250 range I stop and think about how much I want the pin. Although I want the Up Marquee, I probably would not spend more that $500 for it. So... I guess that's my limit.

This

I think mine was close to $50. I'm not sure if I would spend more... I tend to see pins I want for really high prices like $25 to $40, and then all of a sudden I'll see someone list the same pin for a starting bid of $3.99. I get real lucky, but I also learned a long time ago to be patient and never want a pin that bad. Usually I will save a search on ebay and just wait for the right time. I also believe in pin karma and that when it is time for me to own that pin it will happen.

For my number 1&2 Grails I don't even know... I've seen my #1 go for as much as $275 and my 2nd I've never seen anywhere since pin trading (although I haven't pin trading too long yet!) but I would gladly dish out a lot more and a lot in general (trade and/or cash) for them if I had the money! But with 2 kids and pin trading as a hobby I never seem to have money lol but I would pay a lot for certain pins

My collection groups have a definite stopping point for most of them or I'm currently caught up with all of them. It is a surreal feeling.

300 is I think about what I have spent on a single pin so far.

Knowing this, and knowing how much I can and have spent to get most of my "lower" wants...
I will say my first priority grail has 0 trading and 159-165 constantly wanting - last sold for 500 on the site that shall not be mentioned. UP Collectors at least got a chance to get their grail marquee... I would buy mine (Enchanted) for the same price and think about what I have done later

did I mention I am one of those people whom thought 100 for a pin would -never- happen? At least I haven't caved on designer princess mulan...yet.

The most I've paid is $100 which I swore I'd never spend that much on a pin, but have been trying to get this one for years and with nobody trading it for anything I have and it rarely coming up on Ebay, I saw the buy it now of $99 and jumped on it. It was pin 42596 DLR Happiest Homecoming on Earth-SHAG Tomorrowland and I collect SHAG's art as well as pins, and this was the last one I needed in the set. I dont know why this one and the Fantasyland one are so much harder to get than the others, but glad I have them all now.

I spent about $60 for one grail pin but I know paying $100+ for a grail is a good possibility... I prefer to watch and wait to see if I can find it elsewhere for less. The problem happening now is more and more people are getting into pin trading/collecting so the demand and prices are going up too fast. (Thankfully I don't collect princesses!!!)

Also, I don't mind paying 2x the original price for a recent LE release if it saves me the time of waiting in line all night for that one pin. I am NOT a morning person.

I need the Shag Tomorrowland and Fantasyland pins also and don't understand why these are more than the other three pins!!! But I've decided that $40-50 is my max for those two (hahaha!); maybe someday I'll get lucky... or I'll just end up trading/selling the three pins I have.

This is a tough question.

I've had a one off where I paid $65 for Pin 55679: DLR - Pinbassador Inspirations 2007 - The Haunted Mansion as a best offer and the seller took it. The original auction started around $95 and I had never seen this pin on auction before and I randomly gave a number and the seller accepted. So I feel like I saved $30 rather than spending $65  But that's been my most expensive pin so far.
