Disney Store Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion - 2016
So belle/gaston and my spidey tsums shipped from the U.K. Store, but nothing on 17" Belle... kinda worried!

Did they take your money out? I find that their shipping delays are different depending on the location to which they have to ship to. I get my stuff shipped to Vermont and I always get that blast off email at least a week after everybody else gets theirs. If you haven't heard from them by Friday you can always check up with them otherwise I wouldn't be too worried.

I paid with PayPal and it shows that the order was paid for. Not too worried considering Cinderella and Tremain shipped very late on Friday.

Was just wondering cause belle/gaston actually shipped really early this time

If it can make you feel a little better I won't be getting my designer sets until later this October

I would be totally fine with that considering I am planning on purchasing the remaining two Designer sets and could use the money towards that...I would just feel silly paying $80 to ship the Platinum set just for not entering a code! It's my own fault I was just so nervous to check out fast...hopefully a nice CM will take pity on me tomorrow LOL.

How did it go? Did you get the gift card? I heard on Facebook that people are getting e-gift cards when they call about the shipping charges so here's hoping you got one!

What does it show in your PayPal account? Pending charge or an actual charge?

Gift card? Why wouldn't they just reverse the charge? They charged me over $200 shipping on my platinum Alice set (Canadian shipping to US address for some reason), and all they did was reverse it. Usually that's what they do. Don't settle on an e-gift card. Keep talking to someone until you get someone who knows to reverse the charge.

While this is worth a try, the difference is that in your case it was an error on the part of DS.com. They never should have charged Canadian shipping to a US address. They have to correct the mistake. When it's "user error," such as "I forgot to input the free shipping code," Disney's customer service approach seems to be, "Well, that's your own fault BUT we'll be nice and give you a gift card for the amount." So they've done something for you, but obviously it still totally benefits them since they're going to get your $$$ one way or the other. Again, I'd say trying to get them to reverse the charge is worth it, but in this type of instance, I'd be surprised if they do it.

"The customer is always right, even when they are heading towards total abyss."

I actually agree with Quasi over this situation. And based on past experience, one would be totally justified not to use the free shipping code. Isn't that why no one was able to checkout with the Beauty and the Beast pre-orders?
Also, DisneyStore is one of those companies where they are ok with screwing you over as long as it saves them money. and the quality of service you get is solely based on the person you talk to. I've had my fair share of conversations with CS representatives from this store and trust me, they have more power than they let on. They are just told to force feed you BS that they can't do anything when everything is only a click away. So yeah, I say go ahead and tear down the walls. Keep pushing them to give you a refund or reverse the charge, and if they refuse ask to speak to a manager. It is completely unfair for them to apply the free shipping code to some customers and not all.

After all, it's not our fault the system is medieval and doesn't automatically apply the code, like the Europe stores.

So, for those who were successful in getting the Belle & Beast Platinum Set, has anyone received shipping notifications? I'm hearing that people have gotten their orders cancelled but don't know when they ordered their set.

I haven't gotten a cancellation notice (knock on wood, fingers crossed that I don't!) but I haven't received a shipping notice either. I wish they would go ahead and ship it though, I am going to be a nervous wreck until they do! I am trying not to feel too secure or happy about it until the thing is in my hand, especially after hearing so many people disappointed from unexpected cancellations.

This entire BatB release has been so hectic.

I ended up having to pick up my dolls yesterday rather than Tuesday, so I guess that the usual cast members who handle the release at my store had the day off. Meaning I might as well have been deal with new hires. The woman behind the counter, while nice enough, had no idea what the heck I was talking about. She literally thought I was there for one of the 12" Classic dolls. She had to call for assistance, so another woman (this one a bit younger) came up to look at it. And while they were reading the receipt, they kept reading it as 2 Belles, not 1 Belle and 1 Beast. So now I'm freaking out, naturally, as the younger cast member goes to look it up on the computer, where it fortunately did say that the order was for 1 Belle and 1 Beast.

And they're gorgeous. So glad I went ahead and got the Beast, despite not being a hundred percent sold on him. Seeing them together is just incredible.

Did the people say when they ordered? I was reading and people were still getting doll into card and checking out at 4 am Pacific, so is it the later people who got their orders cancelled?

Glad to hear that you at least got your dolls. These kinds of things are so unnecessarily complicated, but then again new cast members who weren't there for the pre-order are probably gonna be lost either way (though it wouldn't hurt them for the manager to at the very least tell them what is going on).

Also, out of all the 17" couples released to date, I think Belle and the Beast look the best together. I don't think they are the best dolls ever made or anything, but you can tell they were clearly designed to be displayed together more so than dolls like Aladdin and Jasmine and Aurora and Phillip (though they looked great together too).
