New Disney Store Doll Releases For 2012
Actually these styles showed up at Target a little over a month ago :3 If you ever shop there, the merchandise has been slow to come out but, it's been out there :D

The US Disney Store website has put up a new banner recently showing the "revamped" Princess looks:

tt200_princess_20120427.jpg

As you can see, some of the Princesses hairstyles have changed, Snow White's red bow is on the side of her headband and not on the top, and all of their outfits look slightly different. I am assuming they are changing the dolls and other merchandise to reflect this new "look". :)

More new banners:

I am not a fan of these "new looks" for the Disney Princesses. It's all a matter of personal preference, but these do not do a thing for me. Even many of the Designer Princess designs had to grow on me, so there is a slight chance that I may get used to these, too (but I seriously doubt it). At least they did not mess too much with Snow White's look...

I don't love the new looks, but I don't hate them. I actually quite like the Cinderella...it looks like they took the "circles" off of the bottom of her headband, and made them earrings instead...she looks more youthful to me (which could be what they are going for).

The only two I really dislike are Belle's hairstyle and the random curl coming down from Jasmine's hair...otherwise they don't really bother me. The glitter on their outfits doesn't bother me in the picture, but I could see it not translating too well to doll form, and could get a little overwhelming.

I also find it interesting that they are now marketing Ariel in her green dress...which she didn't wear in the movie at all...I actually think this dress originated as her "human meet and greet" dress...but maybe they don't want her in pink anymore since Aurora wears pink? And they de-puffed the sleeves...I always loved her "80's" poofed sleeves!

I really like Arielle, I would love to get a doll of her in that Aqua dress! The others are ok, and no need to worry to much, for those who don't like the "new look", it's just a little curl over the hair, a thing I'm pretty sure is fixable if translated on a doll. And Tiana and Rapunzel remain the same though, and of course they keep cutting out poor Mulan! as well as Pocahontas

I'm on the fence a bit.. I do like Cinderella's a lot, actually.. But I'm not at all happy with Aurora's. First off - her curl is gone! And her hair doesn't seem to have that body either. I feel like they're trying to make the princesses more modern so that they can sell as well as the newer princesses.. I like Ariel's outfit, but the hair is not one I like much.. I also don't like Belle's hair. I don't see why they need to make these changes, but I won't complain too much since I like Cinderella's so much. This means buying more dolls when they issue them, oh well!

Brave Vinylmation Figures, Mini Dolls, Transforming Triplets, and 11'' Merida Dolls

Group photos of Brave figures and dolls that I've recently purchased, along with the original Classic Merida 11'' doll. I bought my first Vinylmation figures ever, since I'm in a Brave buying mood, and the designs looked very good on the Disney Store website. Plus the fact that the Triplets actually have different expressions, although they are not individually named in the set.

Those are great photos DRJ! I love them! I really do want the triplets, but it bothers me that they didn't give them different expressions. Still on my to buy list though!

Thanks so much, Selithiel! The Transforming Triplets are adorable, and I love their curly hair, that matches Merida's. I am anxiously waiting for the release of the nesting figure set and the Queen Elinor transforming set. Disney is sure coming out with some great merchandise for Brave. I sure hope that the actual movie turns out as great as it appears from the trailers.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm super excited for it, and this is the first Pixar movie I think I'll enjoy since Monsters Inc.. So hopefully this is the one to make me enjoy Pixar again. (Even though the coloring book I bought spoiled about 95% of the movie!) I'm also waiting for the Elinor set, and intend to pick up the triplets sometime. I went ahead and got the mini-doll set, figure set, and lunchbox with the DMR May discount.

A ton of the Disney Store Brave merchandise is available in the Emporium in WDW :) I took a few pictures-

As you can see, they have Classic Merida, larger bear plushes, transforming triplet plush, Angus plush, figure set, water bottles, vinylmation, and of course the dress, wig, and crown, archery set..! I was so excited to see such a variety there, lol

Sorry if this was posted already, if it was I didn't see it :X

Oh. My. Goodness. <3 THANK YOU FOR POSTING! My wallet is crying right now. <3
The only ones I have a huge problem with are Rapunzel and Mulan... new faces too, wow! :)

Wow, thanks so much TheOtherSteve for these finds! These are definitely the new Classic Disney Princess dolls! Just look at Snow White with the bow to the left (her right) instead of the middle, and her new softer facial features, and poseable feet! So cool that we get to see what the new designs look like, before they are released.

+1! <3 I wish I wasn't so tired, would do a full commentary on what I like and dislike, but for now goodnight everyone, I will be dreaming of the Jasmine and Snow dolls tonight... haha! <3

I LOVE the new Jasmine. <3

Ooh, thanks for the sneak :) I can't wait for these to come out and side by side comparisons can be made. I have a question though, does anyone know when the current version of these dolls came out? How long do they usually go before releasing a new set? just wondering :)

The current Deluxe Sparkle Gown Princess dolls came out in or around September 2011, I believe. The Disney Store redesigns their Princess dolls about once a year. I'm glad they got rid of the silly tulle skirts, even though the new outfits still have glitter on them. I really like the new look Snow White.

Thanks for the head's up! Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear... I am still not a fan of the majority of these "new looks" for the Disney Princesses, and the dresses look so cheaply made! And what's up with the glitter-explosion? Boo! I'll borrow PrincessxJasmine89's idea about discussing what I think are some of the pros and cons for some of my favorite princesses:

Snow White:
6070040908153

Thank goodness there is little variance that Disney can do with Snow White's hair. The bow on the side is ok. Her face is cute. The dress looks terrible (but this will pertain to all 10 princesses).

----------------------------------------
Aurora:
6070040908155

No. No. No. Aurora looks terrible like this. Grated, the stock photos of the 2011 Disney Store play doll Aurora look terrible and the doll is actually quite pretty. Once again, with this doll, they decided to ruin her iconic bangs. Why, Disney Store, Why!?!

---------------------------------------------
Cinderella:
6070040908154

Score a plus that the updo part of her hair finally looks more like the animation design, but her face looks strange to me and the curl on the side looks sloppy... I am not a fan.

--------------------------------------------
Rapunzel:
6070040908162

Admittedly, the original face sculpt for the Disney Store's Rapunzel dolls were not perfect, but they did sort of look like her. This one looks more like a step backward, and she looks a bit more like the Mattel Rapunzel dolls. As a doll, she does not look so bad, but she really does not look like Rapunzel to me. At least her sleeves are the right cut and length.

These are absolutely wonderful! I am SO happy with the new Belle - she doesn't look scared anymore! These are just perfect! I can't wait!

I think Snow White is the best one as far as accuracy (aside from the terrible dress as Shiva stated). I also completely agree with you on Aurora's hair Shiva - I'm upset that the curl was gone, but I saw it coming as soon as the new look for her was put up. However, I do like her face. I like the new Cinderella more than the old one, and I will be getting one since I made the horrid mistake of taking out her bun (I have no clue what I will have to do to fix the afro she now has). I agree as well about Rapunzel... Her eyes are a bit too small, and Rapunzel simply does not have little eyes.

oh, so sad to say I will pass on all 10. I was really expecting something big from Mulan, Ariel, Rapunzel and Aurora.

For Mulan I've got to say, that after this doll, that I believe was the 1st release:
103983766-260x260-0-0_Disney+Disney+Princess+Mulan+Prince+Li+Shang+Frien.jpg

We have gone backwards. First removing the Purple sash/veil thing. Then making the dress fluffly and glittering. And now simply playing lazy by recreating the exact same design with nothing new other than a terrible face :S .

Then we have Ariel! Why do they even give us an official image of Ariel in a magnificent Aqua dress, just to throw again the regular mermaid tail and bra, again how lazy!

For Rapunzel, I think everybody cover up much everything. Again the 1st release was amazing, with 17 in of hair, a more detailed dress, a pascal and paintbrush accessories, and a more acurate face. The cool thing about this one, perhaps are the shoes, but Rapunzel has no shoes anyway :S

So dissapointed overall. Also they played way to lazy with Pocahontas and Tiana. Will be looking forward to 2013 though, since the only pending release for this year is 17in Cinderella, and I don't doubt it will be an amazing doll, but not a fan of this princess. Hopefully we will get something similar to the Designer line in late August?

I don't know why but i love the new Rapunzel.. maybe the deeper green color of her eyes.. maybe the "more nordic" look ... i really like her. When she will come out in Italy i will get her. Just her.

:hsd:

Of course the dresses are HORRIBLE (the only good is the one of Ariel) .. some princesses are strange.. like Aurora (that hair.. just too much... ehw..), Cinderella with that curl xD and Tiana (she is ugly compared to all the other)..... Snow white is obviously the BEST. She is identical in face: innocent and pure... Ariel is pretty too.

I am not sure I am a fan of the new Cinderella's dress, its too dark a blue colour and I dont like it being slimmed down, I liked the big skirted ballgown effect on her previous dress. I will still wait until I see them in person though before I make my final judgement ;o)
