Definately, contact a Pinpic moderator and have any emails from the trade available for their review should they request them.
 
That's awful!! I'm mean, that scene really is ... well, nothing at all. I see no dog but ... a bandit butt perhaps? In any case, clearly not what you had asked for/agreed upon. Yes, perhaps technically you should've demanded a picture first but there's also the concept of "honest trading". You trusted this individual. The nerve of this person to actually then say to you, "Well you should've asked to see a picture!" that, to me, says that this person planned a shady trade from the get-go. So very, very wrong. I hope this person gets kicked in the butt by karma. I'm mad for you! :mad:
 
I don't think whether you traded here, on pinpics or some other online pin forum, should matter about whether you can leave feedback here. With every trade I make I send a little confirmation note, whether it's on here (which trades for me on DPF are like non-existent for the most part) or pinpics, letting them know that I will leave feedback for them on both DPF and Dizpins and I ask that they do the same. Regardless of where the trade is initiated, leaving feedback helps other traders determine whether they can trust that person. I know you feel bad, but think of how much you're helping everyone else by letting them know who we should be leery of and if indeed it was a mistake on their part, although it doesn't sound that way, they'll only have the one negative feedback and lots of positive ones, but if they are shady then it will show. Granted I'm saying this as someone who has also been screwed an not left negative feedback, but use better sense than me. :)

Okay, I'm going to play devil's advocate/the other side of the coin. No, the trade wasn't with me, I know who it is since it's not difficult to figure out if you go and look for a trading thread for someone looking PODMs but has none to offer.

As far as I can tell, the trade originated and was completed through PinPics. That is, a trade request went through PinPics and the other party received an email regarding a potential trade - it's not clear whether Mahrii sent the trade request or whether the other trader sent the trade request. At any rate, it was through PinPics and didn't involve any PMs through DPF (not clear whether the trader in question was a member of DPF at the time of the original trade).

The PMs that were on DPF. This appears to have occurred AFTER the trade had been completed. So, DPF's first involvement, so to speak, was through contact made after the trade was complete.

I don't see how or why the DPF team would get involved in this case. It was all done through PinPics. The moderator(s) at PinPics are who you should contact. PinPics has PinTalk (soon to be PinPics Forum) but no opportunity to leave feedback. Dizpins - not affiliated with PinPics - only has the opportunity to leave positive feedback (not sure how/why Dizpins left the reference center up when the Boards disappeared, but that's a different story). If DPF were to get involved, then why shouldn't DPF get involved in a trade between DPF members that occurs at a park that one eventually finds out that he/she got a scrapper?

As far as feedback goes, I try to leave those totally separate, even if a member of PinPics is also a member of DPF. If my trade originated through PinPics, I only leave feedback at the Dizpins reference center. If it originates through DPF, I only leave it here. ONLY if the request was made to leave feedback on the other forum (and if we have had PMs going back and forth here too [or emails]), then I might consider leaving feedback on the other forum. It's like eBay - if I buy something from a DPF member on eBay (obviously not knowing who said DPF member is and then find out that it is a DPF member), I would only leave feedback on eBay, not here.

But yes, Mahrii, it is totally unfair that the person whom you traded with misrepresented their scene. And, if that person is looking for PODMs from each movie, I *highly* doubt that they would have traded the PODM you sent them away, he/she is using that as an excuse.

But some things to think about - and yes, I know - I've been guilty of ranting and raving here on DPF too - is your time and effort "worth it"? Sometimes, it's good to get things off your chest, so to speak, for peace of mind, etc. But, in the end, based upon all the time, effort, etc. that you've spent thinking about this, writing PMs, etc., is it worth it?

P.S. If you get an infraction, the time will go by quickly so I don't think you'd be in danger of being banned.
 
So I get this document asking for a huge trade of many pins. My last email to them said that I believed they needed to make it right by finding another PODM, either a lion king one to replace the one i sent him, or a 101 Dalmatian with a dog in it. Told him/her they could trade for one or buy one off eBay.
I get offers from them offering me 4 of the princess handbag pins which are open edition, for some le300 BT pins!
also got some other offers where they are wanting the sbw PODM and the Mulan PODM, for two of their pins.
and offering me some sword in the stone pins to replace the PodMs.

i told them I don't want to do a trade for any more pins with them and that I want is for them to make the trade we did right.

There are plenty of PodMs for sale on eBay, of both lion king and 101 Dalmatians. I think they can do a trade, or make a purchase to make this right!

im actually insulted by some of the things they are asking to trade now. They want 2-4 of my LE pins for 1 or 2 of their open edition pins.

I know they are in France and I can't walk into DLRP and just buy off the racks, but neither can they come to WDW and buy our PODMs or other LE pins from the US.
 
Oh my, now I get this response in an email. This is word for word. I still have not heard back from mods, but here they ask me what PODM I want, after they told me they didn't have any PODM left.

I think I know who these people are. They are the same traders who tried to pass my dizpins reference e -mail as if it were their own last December. I would stay away.
 
Wow, I just read and caught up with the entire thread. Wait and see what the mod comes back with. If you do not let us know who it is, going forward France is off my shipping list.

Yes and I hear that they also have horrible reputation in France.

Translation, yes I realized before I started ranting. I am not that upset over the pin itself, but over the fact that this person deceived me, and from what I am hearing from people in my inbox, they are shady and have bad rep.

just from me describing what has happened, people are guessing who this person is. Which is why I put in the title of my post, that I may need to take an infraction for the team! I see tons of posts of them wanting to trade with others here on DPF and specifically asking for PODMs, I appreciate people on this forum and don't want them doing this to others again.

At this point, the PODM is not my concern, I can get it, as its not a hard pin to find, and I even had two lK PodMs stolen at the circus event.

I will be leaving bad feedback for this member here on DPF, and possibly revealing their name publicly. I rather take a hit, than let you guys fall victim.

especially now, that I am getting PMs from others saying they were also taken by them, or have issues with their trading practices.

Go for it Mahrii! We have your back. Make sure your feedback is extremely detailed and there's the portion after the feedback that is only visible to the two people involved and admin/moderators that you can leave more details on!

Ack! I know who this person is too. He always tells me that he only does multi-trades which is weird. I got nervous after he sent me that response and then sent me more emails asking for different pins a few different times. I had a weird feeling so I stopped responding and I'm glad I did. So sorry you got taken. :(
 
Yep! I know him. He DEMANDS a lot! This is why pinpics needs an ignore feature!!!!

I got the same response and then later, multiple requests too! Bizarre.
 
ahhh yes... the Multi pin only france trader!!! I knew I recognized the ID when it was mentioned in chat!! Had a dialogue opened with this person once AGES ago via pinpics. i eventually told them no, the excuse of to many of the pins they wanted were being requested by people here in the states. Glad I did that now.

To bad. Its always nice to have a trade buddy from another country.... They need to shape up.
 
i'm so glad i was given a heads up to this thread (which i had seen yesterday), but now i know who it is...i am (and now past tense WAS) in the middle of negotiating a multi-trade with them, but based on all the feedback from others, i'm going to pass.

i'd rather be safe than sorry, and there is always a better way to get the pins i really want.
