Hello everyone!

I know this question must have been asked before, but I am having trouble past threads.

I would love to know everyone's opinion on this. I am sure there will be a lot of different opinions on the matter, and I would very much like to hear them all!

Erin

I take about 25 pins to trade with CMs per day. Although, a lot of those I end up re-trading or something. I try not to hold them up so I take a quick look, if I see something that catches my eye I trade, and then if I decide I don't want to keep it, I'll trade it to the next. I'm happy if I walk out with 3 or 4 that I want to put into my keepers!

I bring about 15 when I go to the park, and I trade those with cast members. (I also walk into the hotels and trade at the front desk.) I'm still too sheepish to trade with other traders. :anxious:

I am the same way. I can't tell who is willing to trade and who is just showing off...

I have only been to Disneyland 2 times as a trader but I try to bring less than 15 in w/ me and a even mix of traders and keepers...

I bring about 600 a day. I have a big pin book, a little pin book and 3 or 4 lanyards. Of course I only get to go to Disneyland once a year for about 4 or 5 days. So I have to get a years worth of trading in. I mostly trade with other guests since the cast lanyards are so full of scrappers it is hardly worth looking at any more.

You should always try to trade with others. It won't take you long to figure out who is fun to trade with and who is not. If you ever see a big guy with a pin book and multiple lanyards on and a name tag that says David, please please come up and ask me to trade!!! I am usually there at the end of March or the first part of April. I love to trade!!!

David, let me know when you are going to DLR again in 2012 / 2013. I'll meet up with you.

It depends for me: If I am going to do the attractions, I take a small pin book with about 20-30 pins - if I'm going to sit and trade, I'll take my larger book with about 60-70 pins in it.

We trade with Cast members and other people so we take a couple of bags and a bunch of random traders as well. Now I am including a bag of vinyls too! I am disabled and bring my scooter so we fill it up!

I bring a few hundred pins with me to trade. Small bag, big bag and a binder full of pins. Typically toss the big bag and the binders into a locker and carry around the little one to trade with cast members. When I do it is usually something that catches my eye. I don't go for Hidden Mickeys unless I either want the set or means something to me. Don't care for the princess perfume bottles very strange and not my style.

Typically once I am done riding all the rides I usually go back to the locker and head over to Frontierland and just trade with people for a few hours.

Hey Doc I think I have traded with you. :)

uptownbabe, That is so funny that you wrote that, as I was just sitting here thinking that the only Hidden Mickeys I really want from this year's collection are the perfume bottles! You just never know which ones you will like and which ones you will not, that is for sure. I guess that is how they keep on selling pins :)

uptownbabe, could you tell me a bit more- when you say you trade with people for a few hours, are you talking about both cast members and guests? Mostly guests? And are you setting out a pin bag on a table somewhere for people to see, or just trading from your lanyard? If you are setting up a pin bag on a table- where at?

Thanks so much for your input!

Hey there. When I did have my season pass I would take my big bag, little bag and binder full of nice pins over to Frontierland at the tables. Shows you how long I have been with out a pass. But those few hours I am trading with guests.

I don't really have a lanyard and when I do they are ones that I like to display and they are ones that I won't set on the table. I use to use lanyards for traders but I kept getting more pins that I had to buy the big bag, binder and little bag.

I have my little bag with me at all times to see if cast members have anything while I am walking around the park. Because my bigger bag and binder are so heavy it is rather hard on my back to carry it all around. Plus I have a busted right knee so it is super hard to carry about 30 pounds or so worth of pins all around disneyland.

I actually don't find them attractive at all.

I fill my lanyad as full as I can get it, and its one of the WIDE ones, #depends on the size of the pins. then I take hip lanyard with pins on both sides to refresh the that I trade away, and put the "new pins on it". I would rather have too many than not enough to get what catches my eye at the moment, then take a closer look at the room later and see if it goes in the take home bag, or back on the lanyand for another day. Actual number I walk out with in the mornings 30-40. have came back will all still on there, have came back emptyand the lanyard stuffed in the backpack.

Very possible, we come down once a year and I love to trade. You sound like the great kind of person I would trade with while there. This year we were there at the end of March and last year it was the first part of April. Probably be first part of April again this year so we can buy annual passes which covers the following year and gets us a discount while we are there. I am expecting to see a lot of you traders on this coming trip!!!

I may have seen you then. :) Pm me your name and I'll find you on facebook. I'm pretty sure we have traded before. I am usually there right around that time of year.

I take 1,000 bc you never know who will be there. But I'm tired of some folks standing with just hidden mickeys and giving them the same value as LE 300. I'm not being rude but lets be fair and not too far in never land.afterall pixie dust is hot but shouldn't be exhausted on hidden mickeys.
