Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information

Has anyone discovered any additional information regarding sergeant Calhoun? From their local Disney store, or any other source, the release date of the movie is approaching.
 
Asked about the Calhoun doll at my Disney store today. The store manager confirmed that it is being released 11/2, but couldn't find an edition size. I'm assuming it's small, though, because only 2 stores in the "area" are going to have them (which excludes some popular Disney stores near me). She didn't know either if it will be released online. Starting to get nervous! Because I'm going to be at DSF early on opening day, this pretty much eliminates the possibility of securing her in-store. :anxious:

That's what they said about Lady T, so hopefully she will be an edition size of 1500 too since she will be in-store and she has to be online (hopefully lol)
 
Hello everyone! My name is Phil and I am new to this site. I have been reading the posts for the last three days about the Disney Limited Edition Dolls to gather more information and insight. Right now I have allot of time on my hands working in Afghanistan for the Army and I admit theat I enjoy the challenge of finding these dolls to complete my daughters collection. Aleigha is her name and she is 7 hence the screen name. I have managed within the last few days to find the last 2 dolls to complete her 12 doll collection, again lots of time to kill. Alice was not cheap $800+ and Queen of Hearts $200+, I have Merida & Elinor preordered and will pick them up on the 13th of November.
My wife has managed to tear away my rough exterior after retirement from the Army and get me involved with this new adventure, its all about my kids now and what I can give them for standing by me for the last 23 years in the military. So, enough of the soft stuff, I do have some questions because like I said I am somewhat a novice at this. The SGT Calhoun doll that will be out on the 2nd of November is this doll considered part of the Disney Limited Collection I have Now? I am confused because he size is 1" shorter and comes with a different box. Does anyone know for sure if Tinker Bell will be considered part of the collection in February I believe?
One last question does the value of the dolls go down if the box is opened? So we have managed to refrain from opening them, we don't even know the sequence numbers yet and my wife has been doing this since 2009, we are scared to even try to find out.
 
The value of the dolls does go down slightly when you open them, but not drastically! I've seen Snow White sell for $600 MIB and $550 loose, with varying prices in between! They are still rare dolls, and I say if you and your family want to open them, go ahead! It sounds like your daughter really appreciates the value of collectibles, so I think she would treat them well! :) Do what you want, they are your dolls! I personally don't take them out, but I like how they look MIB. To each their own!
 
Should one that collects these dolls get calhoun? I mean shes not a princess or a villian, she will look a little strange next to them? Also the doll looks hardly like the character in the movie with that awful haircut.
 
You can open the box without any damage to see the certificate inside and put it back complete, there's the front of the box & the plastic sleeve underneath.it's your choice whether you decide to free the doll from it's card.
If you are a completist then the answer is obvious.
I personally only collect dolls I like irrespective of edition or availability e.g. I don't have LE Belle because I didn't like the doll. I am hoping Ariel gets a complete re-model in time for her release.
 
Hi. I call the Disney store. Lady told me only 1,600 will be made. It is coming out Friday. This store is only getting 5. Now on the west cost LA AREA only one store is getting the le dolls :@( .. She did not know if online will get any.

Hi. She is not a big disney character..that's why on 1,600 made. :@(

The manger @ Disney store did not sound 100% of the of the number. 1st she said 1,500 then 1,600. Manger was 100% on she will only get 5. I call 10 other stores..all 10 will not get any. 2 store said the run number is 500 to 1000.. So the only thing they all day is 100% true it's coming out Friday.

Lol wow so no one knows anything still? Well hopefully she is in the 1500-1600 area so people who want her can get her!
When I asked my soon-to-be-coworkers what the "edition size" was on Friday, they went in the back, looked a bunch of stuff up, and then came back and told me she would be around 17 inches :facepalm: They misunderstood what I meant haha. I didn't want to waste their time though so I decided I would just wait for news elsewhere!
