Another way to dispute would be to call your credit card company or open a claim with paypal and charge back your credit card.

I have purchased from the same place as well. And I faced the same challenge as Stacey. I am not defending them, but in their order confirmation e-mail it is stated that "There might be a re-stocking fee if an order is cancelled more than 2 hrs after placing the order". It is not clear though, how much the re-stocking fee would be and IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN STATED IN ADVANCE. Since this is a pre-order, obviously it takes longer than 2 hrs to cancel an order.

But, this is a business and as it is with all businesses, they have to protect themselves. They never guarantee a scene. Just one BaTB PODM pin - regardless of the scene. So, if we do not like the frame they offer, the burden is really on us as the buyer. All said and done, they keep their end of the deal.

I am not trying to defend them, neither do I have any stake in this business. I am in the same situation like anyone else who purchased from them.

In my case, I had to add more $$ to my original purchase and purchase 2 older PoDMs not to lose money due to the 25% restocking fee. Needles to say, I am not thrilled :( but to be fair, they kept their end of the deal.

Mali, did they refund you at least?

They do not charge at the time of pre-order. They just place a payment authrozation on your credit card. They only charge if they can fill the order at the time of shipping.

JeffluvsStitch ... I sent you a PM.

Sounds like it's yourWDWstore? If so I've ordered other things from them and never had a problem. However they have a Little Mermaid PODM that I want for $150. On their listing they say that they will beat any price on the internet. I emailed them with links from the last few auctions on ebay of that same scene asking if they could lower to that price and they said "You cannot go off of completed auctions because they are not true values." And they would only lower it to $130 because that's what someone else had it listed for at buy it now on ebay (even though it had never sold for that much and that person continued to re list it at that price). When I tried to explain that an auction is more "true value" then buy it now, they just responded "Have a nice day, goodbye."

A restocking fee just to send someone else an email that is on a "waiting list" is just ridiculous.

Wow! I Pre ordered for I'm assuming the same place, In AUGUST! I received no email like you guys, and I just went to check my order status, my order has been deleted.

He told me on the phone the other day that they had so many pre-orders that he canceled the international buyers...also, every time someone bought, the price went up a few dollars....so if you bought in august you probably didn't pay that much, so if he cancelled your cheaper buy, they could fulfill the higher paying orders. Boo!

I have to agree 100%....this is what I am thinking...it was on the FINAL RECEIPT that is states the "all sales final" policy...and I get that they are a business and are in it to make money in the end....I was just upset that I had a decent like half an hour conversation with them BEFORE I committed to buy and I was told that it was a grab bag type deal "to be fair to all of our customers."

I looked into that Tori...but if I opened a case, all they would have to do is submit the receipt that states that all sales were final and I wouldn't "win." I guess I am lucky they let me swap for another PODM...I am getting Pinocchio :)

The could have at least had the decency to email me...as opposed to ignore my emails, and then deleting the order with no notice.

This is a concern I have with pre-selling the PODM, and it is something I am dealing with right now for the upcoming PCT PODM.

If I was to pre sell PODM, frames unknown for a certain price. REGARDLESS of what the value of the frames are once they release. as a seller I feel obligated to not only honor the amount people paid me for the pin, but to still give preference of choice in order of who purchased. ((granted I want to keep 1 or 2 for myself as traders so I get first pick.))

You paid X amount for a BATB Frame. Regardless of what frame it is. The seller should honor that. If they are now backpedaling because X amount is not what the going rate is for the frames they have to offer, that's THEIR loss. Doesn't mean they couldn't just drop the least expensive frame they can find in your bag. But they should not be telling you they want more for a nicer frame. First paid first pick. no price change.

Get a refund and buy it from another seller. Report it to ebay as bad business practices.

Psycho...I didn't buy from eBay, it was from an independent business that runs via website. And I agree....if they wanted "x" amount for the pins, that's what they should have charged in the first place.

So you never had the item in the first place? How can someone charge a restocking fee when they probably haven't even taken the item off the shelf yet? A restocking fee is to cover the labor costs of having to put returned items back in inventory, not to respond to e-mails.

Oh and please PM me the store name, because I will not deal with people that use those kind of shady practices.

Nope, never had the item in my hands :( I totally agree, and I am sending you a PM.

Honestly, I would have no problem with a restocking fee if they held up their end of the bargain and just sent you a pin and you decided you didn't like the scene. The fact that they charged you a price and then tried to upcharge you again is ridiculous! What's the point of even doing presales if they are going to change the price in the end? I would have demanded a FULL refund and refused to give them another dime of my business, but I guess that's just me.

Psycho-I agree completely with you. I am a very ethical and honest person. If I were going to offer a presale and I stated how I would do things, that is how things would be done. There would be no waivering once I realized I had "more valuable" pieces than what I originally thought they were worth.

I would like to know how this store is managing to get so many PODM pins. Especially considering the craziness of the last release. Very shady and unfair. :suspect:

It was a family of seven they started at contemp and was the last group to get pins then they went to mk and took over and grabbed the pegs off the wall and got pins from there so they got at least 28

I ordered from the same place (I'm assuming, situation is EXACTLY the same) for the Tangled PODM which was the first time they said they decided to do this change after the release thing. I was annoyed but the Tangled scenes had all seemed alright so I just went with it.

With the B&TB PODM however, I would have been just as annoyed as you are, (I was going to pre-order it with them - glad I didn't). I think it's shady that they didn't disclose this as they (I assume, at least for high popularity ones) do this every time now.

I'm glad you were able to get Pinocchio out of it though rather than dealing with the other ridiculous options. I hope you and everyone else who has had such trouble with them have great luck with getting a B&TB scene you want :)
