The UPset over Pixar Mystery pins...

I just got a really RUDE message on Ebay from a member here on the boards. They are upset that I listed my Chaser Russell for such a high price.

First off...before you send a RUDE note...consider that I too may be a member of the forum. Further, I could also trade with you in person!

Why did I list the Russell Up CHASER pin for such a high price..and my thinking related to the rude email:

1) It was a high price with a BEST OFFER. This doesn't mean you forced to pay that PRICE..you can offer much lower and perhaps it is acceptable.

2) I was the first one up with the pin -I had NO IDEA how rare or valuable the pin was. So I started it high to see what the market would determine. I had never seen one before and knew UP pins were hard to find in the first place (and some with higher additional sizes go higher than my price).

3) You are never forced to buy; and I am big on letting the market determine the value. Keep in mind, not everyone has access to the pins and as a SECONDARY market seller; it does not make what I do -bad, or evil. If it weren't for the secondary market -we would have price NO VALUE for pins and anyone entering later in the game -couldn't possibly locate all the pins that were released prior.

Just a couple of points to consider before you send a RUDE & Threatening Email...aside from the fact that this person was dumb enough to do it to a lawyer....

Wow. Don't buy the pin if you don't like the price! The seller can list a pin at whatever price they want.

Also, these are limited RELEASE, not limited EDITION. Everyone needs to calm down. They are painted pieces of metal for Pete's sake

I wouldn't count on it...as the group sitting in the rain at DSF are all running to Disneyland as we speak...sorry to disappoint..but that is the word from there...

In my personal opinion I don't think that's fair. Leave some of the pins at Disneyland so those that can only go maybe once a month can get some too. I just want to be able to get a box or two and maybe see what I can trade them for. I cannot go to Disneyland till Sunday as I live more than an hour away from there and I have to work. :(

Do not get me wrong, I ~love~ these trading pins, but I do believe people can get their panties in a wad about it a little too quickly. :/ Keep things in perspective, and always remember that courtesy is worth more than any pin, every pin, any day, every day. :/ Sorry you had such a bad experience. :(

im getting a bit either burnt out or turned off at pin trading. Now i know why some of the floks i met at the CJPT event say they dont trade via mail anymore nor com on here or on pintalk. This crazy greedy behavior at the DSF and the past PODM pins is really unattractive. People cutting in line, stealing, and jacking up prices.

Anyway as far as Diana go's was this rude message for the public to see? Hey a seller can list a pin at any price, and i have seen a huge gap for the same pin on ebay often. I am sorry you had your feeling hurt, let itt roll off your shoulder and simply reply 'THAN DONT BID NOR BUY" THATS THE END OF THAT.

More pins for me!

Diana, don't be upset. People like that are sad and miserable. Just block them and move on.

Yay for capitalism!

You know what? That person who sent you the message would have probably been praising you if they had the pin in their hands and would more than likely be selling it at the same price, if not higher.

Why harass people on ebay about their prices? Don't like it, don't buy, life goes on. I've always been really happy with my ebay transactions with Diana, gotten some really cool stuff. And Diana, if you pull any Brave pins and want to trade with me or sell without the listing fees, shoot me a PM :)

sorry to hear about this and all the down sides to pin trading. I wish it could b a hppy hobby and sumthing ppl did with walt in mind. I would bet my leg that if he was here and found out what was going on. he would just take all the pins away. If you cant play fair and nice... than dont play at all.

mayb sumday... us the pin fans will change how we act and or treat othere. Than we will help to bring back the magic Walt wanted for all of us.:anxious:

There's no reason to be rude about it, no matter what someone's listing it for. Really, you're just shooting yourself in the foot in the long run that way...

Especially when it comes to traders like Diana- I know you're a fair and even trader. You're tough, but just the right amount so (re: you don't let anyone walk all over you). You helped me with several of the pins for my Jessica collection...

At WDW, the Pixar boxes at DtD were gone yesterday at the same time the Character Connection pins sold out there. I don't know how the parks did...

My gosh, some people are so annoying. Not you, the one who messaged you. Don't buy the pin if you don't like the price! The seller can list a pin at whatever price they want.

Also, these are limited RELEASE, not limited EDITION. Everyone needs to calm down. They are painted pieces of metal for Pete's sake

There are LE 200 chasers in the box set

thats unfortunate for you ppl shouldn't get so worked up over pins we all know they get pricy! Just be glad disney doesn't sell them at that price because we know they can and people will still buy them! can't imagine how much they'd go for then in a secondary market!

Hey TiggerNut, why were you banned from pinpics as you like to highlight the misuse of the once trusted database
but seriously.
Now, back onto the topic, I can't believe someone would do that. I mean, seriously, if you don't want to pay that price, DON"T. People are just ridiculous

It's your pin to do what you please with and just because somebody's jealous or whatever that they dont have it, it doesnt give them the right to send you a rude message ANYWHERE! I mean there are some pins I'd love to have and they are more than I want to pay for them, but I would never even think to email or message them crying "it's not faaaiiirr!". Good luck to you and I hope you sell your pin for the price you want or trade it for something you really want.

I know I have bought from you a few times and have found you more than fair.

It's a LE 200 mystery pin (shared between both parks?). The demand will be high due to the size and content. If the prices are too high, then either take the gamble by finding someone to buy the boxes for you, or don't collect the set. There are plenty pins that I need to complete collections and it's not because I they are too high in price that I don't have them. People don't respond on pinpics anymore and no one ever seems to list them on eBay. That is a lot more frustrating than the pin being overpriced.

You can charge whatever you want, if they don't like it, they don't have to buy it. Just ignore them and move on.

Now I think this calls for a little Sweet Brown:

Never an excuse for rudeness...your high price today may be dirt cheap tomorrow...who knows....I still remember the $125 Reveal/Conceal Rapunzel pin that I refused to pay such a high price for on eBay....man was I nuts! You are taking a risk that the pin will actually be worth twice that in a month .... but it's your risk to take and their right to bid (or not)...again, rudeness is uncalled for...what are people thinking...

Now if I can just find the Cars ones....sigh....that plus the character connection puzzle ones that are likely to be gone in no time as well...waaahhhh...
