Hello All!
Has this ever happened to you.....You receive an email from trade assistant saying someone wants to trade with you. You email the person back saying you'll accept the trade. Then they never respond or say they're not interested....WHAT?! You had trade assistant email me? I have even had an email conversation with people talking about adding pins to the trade and then get nothing all of a sudden.....I don't understand this at all. I would understand if I sent out the request and they're not interested, but when they initiate the trade and then disappear it's frustrating.
Ok end rant :) Thanks for listening!

yes, I started a similar thread last month... I ACCEPTED someone's offer thru the TA system (which I do still love, despite this weird exchange), and then THEY replied "no thanks"! HUH? I was ACCEPTING THEIR OFFER! As Mike says, a real "head scratcher"!

This, all the time. I'm like what???? I didn't send it.

Oh yeah. Just recently I replied early in the morning and then a day later I emailed again asking if they still wanted to make the trade. The other person replied with the "no thanks". I don't get it. Why send the request if you don't intend to honor it?

I don't mind as much if they "no thanks" me, but if I reply to their offer accepting the trade (or proposing a counter offer) and then I never hear from them again either way, that bothers me! If they had another trade come up or changed their mind or whatever, that's fine with me, it happens. But I just want to KNOW! Don't leave me hanging!

I DO MIND the "no thanks" to MY acceptance of THEIR offer almost as much a no response to an acceptance.
If pin is gone, or you changed your mind, politely SAY that pls!!!

It's bad enough that hardly anyone responds to trade requests when you are the one to send them out, but yeah, my mind is blown when I respond to a request sent by someone else to me and I get nothing? What? So confusing...

I'll be the first to admit that I am guilty of sending out some requests only to decline the acceptance a short while after. Here's why: I use an add-on that auto selects everything available and I submit. My initial thought was that I would get people involved in conversation and possibly negotiate something. However, as of late, I have come to learn (as people normally do as they progress into a hobby, or anything else in life), that this procedure was perhaps not the best way to go about pinpics very flawed Trade Assistant. I began getting people accepting unreasonable trade offers like my LE 250 pin for a super common hidden mickey (albeit, I understand I offered it), then getting mad and frustrated when I declined.

My learning curve: The last time I sent out trade offers, I learned and ultimately decided to change 2 things. First, do not request trades for 300+ pins in one night... Inbox next day took like 3 hours to sort out and respond to. Second, do not use the add-on anymore unless you are willing to take ANYTHING for the pin you're offering.

I will say, again, for some newer members, like myself, it is a learning process. I understand where the frustration can come from, and I'm making adjustments on my end to change the way I do things for the better. However, nobody can say, on the other hand, that I have not replied to their email, because I take the time to politely reply to every email I receive.

So am I guilty, yes! AM I learning, yes! In the most respectful way, I say have a little patience, since there are always newer members joining this magnificent hobby, and they have to learn the ropes like the rest of us have.

Thank you for explaining about the other side of declining an acceptance to an offer YOU made. Autoselecting ALL pins for a trade may be easy, but as you have seen it MISMATCHES a LOT of offers. Some folks, I'm not that clever however, maintain ONE list for their hidden mickeys & open stock & another list for the LEs. That might help, but I still think selecting offers & double checking/editing them before they get sent is a REALLY GOOD IDEA :)

I get this a lot, but I always reply politely to any and all emails. It is a puzzlement to reply to an offer and have them reply back "no thanks". I'm like - huh? But that's one of the joys of pin trading - the puzzles:)

It drives me mad too. I always try to check against the LE numbers before ticking the boxes but sometimes some slip through. I do try to reply to 90% of my requests and would never just say "no thanks" without explanation if I'd already had a counteroffer etc. At least I hope I wouldn't! :D
