DSF Ironman Update
What about the Spirit of Pintrading?? One To Keep, One To Trade!
What are we to do?
you hit it on the nail! but honestly i didnt think this release would get that much attention anyhow as the only reason the last release was crazy (Avengers) was cause there were tons of people leaving the premier and getting in line for pins too lol this time they spaced it correctly so it should be fine...

The major piece of information missing here is how they intend to form the lines at the time permitted. In my view, the only problem with the beloved tales is that they did not give advance warning on how they were handling it and as a result, people lined up days early. If Disney would have told everyone in advance their plans, it would have removed most of the tension from that release.
Just give me your set and I can have one to trade!
Who are you kidding girl???? LOL ...you would just sell it! Haha!
Did you wanna buy it?! haha
 ...see? TOLD Ya So! LOL
I guess everyone in Florida will be shocked to see how much DSF stuff I really sell
I've actually been saving all my stuff for Florida .
Well then I better see those books when you come to the east coast! Woohoo!!! I'm already green with envy <3
I'll be there in June, debating if I should setup some kind of pin meet.
Not a bad idea Or you could just come to one of the Central Florida DisneyPin chasers meets
I don't think I'll be there when you guys meet.
I think the lottery idea would solve it all. It's completely random and you can get in line prior to the start of the event instead of staying there all night.
I agree. The way I see it, there's only 2 ways to release pins that wouldn't result in early birds trying to line up (despite what the official times for lining up are or wishes of the store might be).
One is a RSP style lottery system, like you guys have said.
The second is to just not announce the pins or the release times, and let word of mouth get out. It would stagger the arrivals enough that you wouldn't have line issues. It would suck for some people who missed out, but the people who can't afford (time, resources, or money) to camp out would get back into the game.
There might not be a perfect way to release pins, but at least these methods get rid of the hassles and liability issues associated with having people camp out overnight.
Isn't the marquee pin a LE 500? Which if it is, that would account for the 500 wristbands.

It is a LE500, but they are only handing out 300 wristbands (that's what I thought I read a few days ago)
Someone on the DSF Facebook thread mentioned that at WDW you're not allowed to line up early or you'll get kicked off the property by security. I wonder if that would work at DSF... Is the only entrance to the line-up area at DSF through the alley or is it through Hollywood Blvd? With such a tiny space to line up in, it would seem hard to regulate where people will wait before the line opens.
Free evil plan:
Begin wristband distribution the Wednesday before a release. Walk up. Get a wristband. Get your ice cream. Go home.
Wristbands are given out until 9:00 or 10:00 pm the day before the release.
Random selection of numbers, on wristbands distributed, and posted to their Facebook by midnight.
Winners line up the next morning in the order their number appears on the Facebook selection list.
Buy pins. Get your ice cream. Go home.
No lines to try and be first. No drama. No worries other than fretting over getting selected.
But since everyone seems to enjoy the lines, the lottery is always shot down as being unfair. When there are only 300 pins, someone is going home unhappy. But with a lottery, no one is worrying about how many days they have to spend in line, since the line and being first wont matter anymore.
Too many people worried about the value of a low LE to consider raising it, so just go with the lottery so everyone can stop whining about lines and whether or not it is official or how no one isn't enforcing or following unenforcable rules.
Guess I should just get on board with the idea that nothing is going to change and shut up.
