2013 Fairytale Designer Collection

As I said, all of his art has this style.
However I do find it strange that his art blog has no other images of ladies like this other than the princesses. So it got me speculating! He also said he would be "hinting" at the next designer collection throughout the year, and we are getting closer to the assumed announcement time (August ish, maybe even July?). Who knows~

I'm gonna keep stalking his blog. lol.
 
The Designer villains that sold out several weeks ago are back up for sale again at full price. Ursula, Queen of Hearts and Cruella.
 
How do you find out what all will be sold at D23? If there are dolls to be sold there, when do you find out and how? I've never been before, so I'm totally clueless how it all works.
 
Me either, I have been told that they release the schedule several weeks beforehand so I am expecting it around mid to late July. Also I have been checking the D23 expo website. They have been updating it regularly with more and more content of what to expect at the expo e.g Friday will have some Marvel events going on.

They also have a link for the schedule but when you try click it, it just goes to an error page so I am assuming that they will start releasing more info over the next few weeks.
 
Too bad they don't release it earlier. If there are dolls sold, is it first come first served, a loto, etc?
 
I believe it's first come first serve. I am pretty sure they are also limited due to the fact that the main release will be online so they will more than likely only be accepting a few preorders. Also I believe at the expo you can only preorder the dolls and you won't actually get them there but I think the last time you were able to get the special d23 silver Cinderella but the others I believe were only preorders.

I haven't been myself either and all of this info I got from just asking so if anyone knows better please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

I am new here, but have managed to collect all the Designer dolls. It is nice to know there is a place where people with passion can discuss what they love.

You are correct. At the 2011 D23 expo they had a little "Disney Store" that was previewing a ton of merchandise that will be available in stores later on. The Designer Princess pins were sold during this time, along with the D23 Silver Cinderella. Neither of these were available online or in the Disney Stores after D23. You were able to pre-order the entire set of 10 dolls during the expo, but you would not receive the dolls until the week that the last doll was released (this was later changed because of how they were released). So you received all 10 at one time at the end of the series, instead of one at a time.

Did you know that the dolls and pins were going to be available beforehand or did you just find out when you got there? Will the disney store release a list of available items before the expo?

If I remember correctly, they announced the info about the dolls and general info about the collection right before the expo.
 
I am pretty sure they give you an idea prior to the expo. Like I said all the details will be on the website when they release it. I believe they tell you who the exhibitors are and give you an idea of items on sale.

As to how much detail they go into it I am not sure but I am pretty confident that they will disclose something about the new collection if there is one prior to the expo. Be it a sneak peek or complete details of the new line and how and when it will be released at expo.

I know that the pins were a surprise release. The sneak peak pictures were found on the DisneyStore website (as they used to do for upcoming DS.com releases), and shortly after they started releasing info about the doll line. I knew that they would be showing the dolls at the expo, but I'm not sure if it was announced before the expo that you would be allowed to pre-order them or not. I just remember walking by the store to get in line and saw the pin sets sitting on a shelf and was shocked, because it was becoming quite a huge deal as to when these pins were going to be released.

Usually what the DisneyStore does is show off it's upcoming merchandise (usually a lot of costumes) and expo attendees will get first dibs at purchasing them. But what I learned from last year is if you see something you like, then buy it. Don't wait for it to show up in stores because it doesn't always happen. I passed on all the Designer merch (like the scarves and shirts) because they were supposed to be released online and in stores, but they never really were.
 
I'm just wracking my brain about this new collection and what it could be. I mean, all we have is the speculation around the word "Couples". I VANT TO KNOW! I really do hope that we get some concrete details when StitchKingdom get the insider preview.
 
I ...was not a fan of the last collection very much. *twitch* I won't go into detail but I'm basically very unimaginative and become upset if I feel characters do not look like they belong to their own universe and time period. The Tiana sort of did, that 1920's kind of look (I think). I do like looking at other people pictures of the designer dolls though (in small doses, so the concept of them having alternate universe dresses does blow my fragile mind) SUPER EXCITED though about new ones, can't wait to see, whatever it is they do this time
 
Honestly, it isn't the fact that it's couples. It really depends which kind of couples because princesses and princes are a "hit" but would they really re-do princesses this early? I feell it will be other couples as Herc and Meg, Alice and the Mad Hatter, Esme and Phoebus, etc. It's a long-shot but I'm sticking with it.
 
I'm glad that they won't be charging double the cost of a Designer doll for the couples, but geez am I going to be broke. Thanks for sharing the info!
 
Is anyone going to D23 that could get me that doll set? I can't go as my brother is getting married that Sunday. If anyone is willing to help me out, please PM me, I would be very grateful.
