2013 Fairytale Designer Collection
Is anyone going to D23 that could get me that doll set? I can't go as my brother is getting married that Sunday. If anyone is willing to help me out, please PM me, I would be very grateful.

It sounds like an online pre-order option will be available. What I find odd is that it seems to exclude both Cinderella and Aurora.

I hope the pictures for these are out soon. When exactly is the expo, as I figure that will the earliest they are out?

I don't think I could afford all of them, but I would be very interested in the Beauty and the Beast set, as well as the Little Mermaid set.

I agree it is odd that they left out Cinderella and Aurora who are popular characters and even had the castles at the theme park named as theirs. I was going to say it was because of their partners not being as well known but then again Snow White is in the line and she is included. I think jasmine was included because Aladdin as a character is pretty popular and I'm glad she is included in the line.

That is very exciting news and sounds pretty valid too. I wonder when they intend to release Ursula and if she will have preorders too.

id be surprised if the initial sales of the couple set did not come out during the expo as that is what they did during the last expo. I hope we get more pics, details and confirmation from disney soon!

The Designer Villains were announced online around a year ago, so it is hard to tell whether this new line will be unveiled for the first time either online, at the Disney Consumer Products preview event tomorrow, or the D23 event. I just hope it's soon.

Boo. I have zero interest in the males and don't want to pay 129 for a set when I only want one doll. I foresee a bunch of male dolls on eBay.

I have a feeling the will be in one case/box. Don't think they will probably separate easily.

Well I think I've lost interest in the Designer Series ^_^ Don't get me wrong, it's a great idea (minus the fact that they are excluding some amazing princesses but I understand their reason too), but in terms of all merchandise, I really don't think I'm interested in getting 2 Designer Ariels, 2 Snow Whites, 2 Rapunzels, 2 Belles, and 2 Jasmines :( Perhaps I'll get one of them if they are really nice, but that's it.

I'm excited to get both Eric and Ariel & Rapunzel and Flynn! A shame that there won't be no Aurora and Philip & Mulan and Shang. But I guess it's a relief that I will only be spending $260, rather than $650. I can't wait to see unveiled pictures!!!!! Thanks for the news info!

The surprise release Ursula will probably not be released or able to be pre-ordered until the DVD physically comes out. So there is a $100 off of their original estimate! Lol.
I'm really excited for pictures.

i was wondering something : maybe the fairy tale couple will be in their wedding dresses and suits? In a designer fashion

I'm really excited for male designer dolls, but my only concern is they'll have molded hair, which isn't as nice as when it's rooted. Soooo, I'm just going to wait for pix. I'm sure I'll get them. Heck, I'm even tempted to go to D23 and get the exclusive. *off to check if the tix are sold out*

I KNOW! I'm so excited!!! It sounds like it's going to be an awesome year for dolls. I just hope the higher price helps deter scalpers!

I hope the princes have rooted hair because there need to be balance. It can't look like they just took one of the 12 inch dolls and put him in the collection.

I'm excited for this line! Waiting for pictures first but a smart move including princess's to help princes sell! Gutted no Phillip and Aurora but who knows if this sells well maybe we could get more next year? I'm interested to see if and how they do the beast! But I'm deffo going to try and get Ariel and Eric's and Rapunzel and flyn! How much will these be in the uk and does the uk pre order go up the same time as the US? I'm hoping can preorder these and save them as my Christmas present from parents :) x

will we see new designer pins? :)

It's only natural that they release all the normal stuff along with the dolls. So I bet you can expect clothes, lithographs, prints, pins, etc.

Or the higher prices could just mean higher asking prices from the scalpers

This is a good point, but I don't think the female doll will be in the exact same designer dress they had in the first round. I'm fairly certain they would have changed the dress.

My theory about the fact that they only choose 5 couples out of the 10, and that they left aside Cinderella and Aurora, 2 of the most popular princess, is that this collection will be divided in 2. Next year they might release the remaining 5 couples. Also another thing that makes me believe this, is the price. Do you imagine people spending $1,300 + tax (and in most cases + shipping) to get the whole set of 10?! I could imagine the numerous complains to Disney Store. So if we think about it that way, it's a smart move, and leaving Aurora and Cinderella for the 2nd part will help promote and launch popularity with Mulan, Pocahontas and Tiana. Well that's just my theory.
