2013 Fairytale Designer Collection

Oh shoot, I actually really like Belle even without her widow's peak and the open mouth. Though I wish they had closed her mouth and done the widow's peak. The Beast is horrid. I have to get a good full frontal face view of Rapunzel before deciding on her. In these pics her head looks smaller than the usual Disney Store ones, and more delicate, but that could just be the angle. I doubt her mold is any different. Belle and Ariel are my favorites. I wish they came alone; I have no interest in the guys at all and I'll bet they would be really hard to sell, especially Beast.

I don't see why people have issues with this collection. Not perfect, but as a whole it is absolutely gorgeous. I feel like there isn't a lot of acknowledgement that these dolls are meant to look more like how the characters look in their respective films. There really isn't a lot that can be done with Belle's outfit. Just like with her 17" doll - there's only so much to do with the yellow gown. I think that they've done a good job of taking liberties where they can and I will gladly fork over the dough to have these in my collection (even if I break the bank in doing so :p ).

I'm having a hard time picking a favorite. I think Rapunzel's outfit is my favorite while Snow White has the best face (along with Belle). I really love all of them though. I can only imagine how I'm going to feel about them when I actually see them in person. The males look way better than anticipated, but aren't perfect. Then again, I did say quite some time ago that one of the issues with doing a couples collection would be the males and the fact that most male doll tend to be lacking. The same goes here, but given the way these look compared to the basic classic dolls I won't complain. I think $110 or so would have been a better price tag, but at the same time I don't mind the higher price as a deterrent given the smaller edition size.

The European price is too higher.. 120 Euros seriously? it's 158 dollars for us , European. I wanted to take three of them at 100 euros each. But at 120 euros, no way... So i guess ( i will have to quit on snow white, and since i won't be avaible for the sell anyway it's destiny. ) And i'll try to get rapunzel and Eric

Unpopular opinion time: I'm not a fan of Rapunzel's dress. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful design and in the artwork looks stunning, but I just don't think it has translated well into doll form. It's meant to be loose and flowy, with big loose sleeves, but the material they've used is too thick and the sleeves look too stiff with her arms raised. I still love her second best next to Ariel, but the dress just doesn't look as good as it could.

Yes they have been.

$129.95 US/ $139.95 CAN / £100 UK / €120 EURO

It is on the disneystore blog.

So will anyone be thinking of preordering the entire set? As it is going to cost around $650 for the whole set. Or are people just going to buy the ones they want? I am so unsure now if they will have the preorders at the expo as well as the blog does state that the ONLY opportunity will be online. I wish they have us more info on what will be available at the expo because by the sounds of it the preorders will only be available online. I always worry about online due to site crashes and sharks getting in early so that they can just list it on eBay straight after preordering it. Whereas doing things in person is easier as you can tell based on the people in front of you and the stock available if you will be able to get in or not.

I expected the price to lay around £50 per doll. If I remember correctly, the designer villains were sold around that price too here in the UK, so considering there's two dolls, makes kidn of sense sense. I think out of the six, Ariel and Eric are the one set I would really love to go for, simply for the fact that they're in one box together meaning that designer ursula can look at them from a distance and think of her evil masterplan.

Have to say that the Ariel LE doll has sparked my interest as well and especially with an LE Eric coming as well, I would be interested joining those two up. But the price tag for both, (which will probably make the two more expensive than the designer set anyway) and having to pay out for an actual display case is gonna be even higher.

If I had the money, I'd definitely go for the Rapunzel and Flynn Set too, but I've got the designer Rapunzel and Gothel, and no more room on the shelf haha.

Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Has anyone else noticed when you enlarge the picture of all the group together from the Disney Store blog Beast seems to have fur poking out from the bottom of his jacket??

£50 for just the princesses would be fine, I'd be happy to pay it. But £50 for the princes is having a laugh. It shouldn't be double the price, especially considering that they're crammed into one display case.

I actually think that the beast doll would be just fine if his fur wasn't so chocolate colored. Rapunzel and Flynn are by far my favorite though!

Okay, I really like the whole set. I can see lots of improvements from the original leaked pics, especially with the princes' hair molds. I want them all.

I'll admit the price looks crazy, but then I think that if I wanted to buy any of the first designer princesses, I'd have to pay at least 3x as much to have each of them. Knowing I get a prince as an accessory (which is really all they are), I can justify the price. I don't really think these will end up discounted the way the villains were. There aren't even half as many and the princesses are popular enough that people will pay $150 for them (after taxes).

I MIGHT skip the Beauty and the Beast set. All the others are for sures for me, though.

I want all but BATB and Snow White....... I'm disappointed that she beast is the same size as Belle:/ I wonder how difficult it will be to obtain these dolls

Part of me, just wants to order the whole set, to not have to deal with the headache and suspense of if I,can get the ones that I want.

I dunno what's our say on this set? Do you think it will sell out fast line the first designer line or slow like the villains line or possibly in between wherein there won't be a mad rush with the site crashing but the dolls will sell out faster than the villains? It's interesting because the edition size is similar to the LE Ariel and whilst that was not difficult to purchase it did sell out within a day of release so it will be interesting to see how this set goes because during the initial designer release some of the dolls had greater edition sizes and yet they sold out within hours if not minutes if release.

It seems like most people are only interested in Ariel/Eric and Rapunzel/Flynn, so I think those two couples will sell out more like the designer princesses. I think the other three will lean more towards the designer villains.

I agree, I wonder though if the sharks will still preorder the set though, mainly because they generally tend to preorder the stuff so that they can sell it at a profit straight away. I mean look at The LE Ariel most listings popped up as soon as she sold out.

Just interesting to see how fast the preorders will sell out due to people just wanting certain sets and not the entire lot.

Disney wants to break our wallets. 3 17" LE dolls for the little mermaid, possibly a DS.com little mermaid pin set, new designer couples at $130 a pop, with shirts and journals and who knows what else and probably a pin set.

I think I finally figured out what I don't like about it. The colors are too dark overall.
between the dark makeup and the dark color of beast and tthe dark fabrics...it feels too brooding for me.
i think Rapunzel is the prettiest,
face and hair wise, but I too am not fond of her dress. Beast and belle are cringeworthy IMO. The disproportion between them is almost laughable. I'm sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings with my opinion, but I really feel as if Disney didn't put as much effort in to this collection as they have in the past. They know that they will sell, no matter what, so try can charge
$120. I am still hoping to get the pin set, because I like the lithographs, but I just don't feel that there was enough effort in transitioning the art to the dolls. :( Maybe I will cchange my mind with more pictures, I'm not sure. But for now it's a solid no from me.
