Go slow!!!!! make sure everything lines up ok and don't force it, if it starts to feel like you are having to push harder slide it up and then try again. I had a bit of an issue with this after I had to fix the hair on one of my DV dolls, it took 3 times of getting it half way then getting stuck and having to do it over :/

The only other set I really like is Belle and I might try for that one because it seems to be pretty popular. I like Ariel but I am going to be Arieled out with all the other merchandise coming out and Rapunzel's pose is a bit of a turn off. I might try for Jasmine and Aladdin if they get discounted as well.

A Snow White doll and mug ended for $86 on Ebay Sunday night. You might try watching the auctions on there. That seller lost more than $60 on the sale. I actually feel bad for him/her. The "flip" didn't work for that listing. I almost bid to get a deal, but I don't need another Snow.:wavey:

MotherKnowsBest is right: do everything slowly and carefully when replacing the cardboard backer into the plastic case side tabs. I am sure there are many ways of effectively replacing the plastic cases on the Designer dolls, but here are some tips that I personally developed after nearly mangling my Designer Belle doll's cardboard backing way back in August 2011:

1) Lay the plastic case on a flat surface, preferably a non-slick surface, with side with the plastic tabs (the back face) laying flat on that surface.

2) Brace it with one hand. With the other hand, hold up the doll/cardboard backing (with the back/CoA facing down) and evenly slide it into the first pair of tabs.

3) Lay the doll/cardboard backing down on the surface to even the cardboard with the remaining tabs.

4) Gently and slowly push the doll and cardbaord backing up into the next pair of tabs in the plastic case. I find that firmly holding one side of the cardboard is adequate enough to get enough force but keep control of what you are doing.
********Important: I do recommend that at this stage to place and hold your fingers over the CoA to press it flat up against the back of the cardboard so that it does not get caught on the plastic case as you are sliding it upward. You may end up tearing the CoA if it gets pushed into the bottom edge of the plastic case!************

5) Continue through the third and final pair of side tabs. Remember: slowly and carefully!

6) At this point, the CoA should have cleared the bottom edge of the plastic case and there should only be an inch or so of open space at the bottom of the case. At this point, you should be able to position the whole case and doll right-side up and push the case into position with the cardboard sliding into the top two tabs at the back of the case.

Additional tips:
-The top corners of the cardboard backing have to be in their proper flat, cornered shape. If either or both have a mashed-in shape, you will have the hardest time trying to slide the cardboard through the tabs (i.e. It probably won't).
-A good way to "fix" mashed cardboard corners is to make and shape new "corners" with a strip of clear packing tape. You may have noticed that the sides of the cardboard are taped together to keep the two layers together. Use that as a guide to how wide of the tape you need. Following that, apply your own layer of tape and fold it over at the top to make new "corners" at the top. Keep in mind that the thickness of the cardboard and tape should not be too much thicker than the cardboard backing would normally be. The plastic case does not provide a lot of extra space.
-If you are just planning on frequently removing the case, modifying, or all-out deboxing (i.e. you really do not forsee ever selling your dolls), I have seen pictures where people have cut the cardboard backing at the fold, leaving the bottom side on the base of the case (with the name plate and doll stand). I suppose you could then just slide the cardboard back into the case with the CoA and then really easily take the case off and back on without having to repeatedly go through the process of steps 1-6 above and still keep the cardboard background and CoA safe and visible for display.

You're most welcome! I hope that these tips can help you and anyone else with Disney Designer dolls. I nearly cried when I was having so much difficulty the first time I opened one of these types of cases with Designer Belle. That was in week three of the Designer Princess release. With Designer Cinderella and Designer Ariel, I did not need or dare open their cases back then, but with Designer Belle there was something I wanted to adjust (I can't remember what now!), and trying to get the cardboard back in with the doll still attached was just the worst experience ever! Oh well, live and learn! My Designer Belle's cardboard is now far from perfect, but it could be a lot worse!

I've been really lucky so far - granted, I only collect Tangled dolls - but my DP Rapunzel and DV Gothel were immaculate when I got them - perfect positioning, perfect hair, perfect gowns. My 17" dolls were also perfect, but I made the silly mistake of checking their CoAs when I got them, and now there is a slight ripple in the plastic covering on the side of Gothel that drives me mad. I can't seem to even it out or get it to lie flat. Then when I saw the DFTC Rapunzel doll and knew I'd have to reposition her, I got really nervous - between people's past experiences here and knowing how OCD I am about the rippling in my 17" Gothel box... yeah, I don't want to take any chances. So thanks again for sharing this, it already makes me feel more prepared to make some minor tweaks to Rapunzel once she arrives!! So eager/nervous for this weekend to order. Eek!!
 
hi, I gor my snow white today. I'm so happy. She is gorgeous. The prince is too. oh my the pictures are huge. I don't know how to resize them. So, only two

thank you. It wasn't so easy to do it, because each time i tried to close it, it moved and i had to do it all over again but with patience i eventually succeed.

She looks great I can't wait to recieve my Snow! Ordered her Thursday so hope she comes tommorrow! And getting excited for Rapunzel! From the stitch kingdom pictures I wasn't keen on them but they are so stunning! I wish my local store had them all on display but they only had Snow! I love Snow so much she's super pretty with the braid or without!

My store had all but Snow on Display! Guess they don't want people to see her if she's sold out, so she's the only one I haven't seen in person :(
 
That unbraided styling looks amazing! Leaps and bounds better and it's really just a subtle difference. I'm surprised they didn't do that to begin with...and just crusty spray the life out of it. Plus, it looks more high fashion than a braid like that does.

I am nervous that these dolls are going to pick up momentum and that by the time Ariel and Eric roll are released, they will be very hard to get. What do you guys think will happen?
 
It bothers me that these dolls arn't made to be displayed together. their facial expressions don't really look like their in love.
 
Now the question is, will the rest of the dolls will be wearing flats or heels? Snow White had some terrible flats on her, and unfortately I see it coming for the rest except Belle. It's a shame that they decided to go for flats, although you can't really see them, it really bugs me because I think it substracts the Designer and glam quality lol.

That is the one downside to this collection. I love the art, I think it is stunning and beautiful. However, most of the couples don't look like they are in love. Aladdin and Jasmine, and Ariel and Eric are the only couples actually looking at one another/happy to be with each other. Snow White is ignoring the prince but he is looking at her longingly. Flynn has a dopey smile on and you can just tell he loves Rapunzel. However, Rapunzel is more interested in the lantern than him. Belle and the Beast aren't even looking at one another. The Beast is at least smiling?

Hi! Just brand new to the forum! I joined maybe like a month ago ever since I heard about the LE Ariel doll. I just wanted to say that aladdin & jasmine are probably one of my favorites out of the whole fairytale collection. Like the designs are gorgeous & seeing them in person is speechless. Pictures don't do justice! As to the comment about the couples do not look like they're "in love" looks. Aladdin & jasmine obviously won best romantic pose in the whole collection. Ariel & Eric are definitely a close first too :]

I'm not sure the aim of the couples was to show them being in love if I'm being honest, I thought the core or inspiration for all of them was the moment in the film where the princesses and their princes share that unique moment of knowing there's a connection between them, but are not ready yet to confess they love each other.

For me personally, the way Snow and the prince are depicted reminds me of the beginning of the film, where Snow is cleaning and singing and the prince interrupts her. When he joins in the singing, she runs away. I have a same feeling with Flynn and Rapunzel, the scene with the lantern is that one moment where they both feel there is a special connection between them. The other three couples are quite straight forward. :)
